Interesting wee thread
He kinda dodged the homestead aspect of that question though. If they ever get round to actually implementing player owned bases, will those things follow you between shards like your other possessions? Or be added to a global database and exist everywhere? (Honestly it'd make sense if they only existed on whatever shard you're on, like your ships etc. No issues with it being attacked elsewhere, easier to do etc. Just leaves any friends on a different shard hanging if they're authorised to spawn there, or are expecting to see it etc.)
Good luck to them with the 'tied to one shard thing' though. The static system implies that if you head to a busy Jump Town style scenario you’re gonna hit the local server cap. And then the only place to go is another shard with capacity at that location. (Regardless of how many players a shard can sustain in total.)
And the 'dynamic' system, which might solve that in theory,… is nuts
It’s kinda dubious that they keep suggesting that end goal is a likely scenario. But so it goes…

SaltEMike spotted in the CitCon that they talked about making the tool that they use for making bases available to owners. If that turns out to be true then it might point to indestructible bases? Normally in games I think if you build them in-game (like Valheim / NMS etc) then they can be destroyed, but probably not if you need to jump out to an external tool to restore them? The only solution to this really is either bases can't be attacked and damaged in any significant way or they can be, but at no real loss. You just log in and everything can be repaired/restored for free/cheap.

So what does it cost to be "Evocati" "tester"?
Yep, can switch regional shards (e.g. from EU to USA). Doesn't answer whether can switch between same-region shards (e.g. from EU1 to EU2).He was still going.
So can can switch shards on demand.

Vaporware, meet clouds.CitizenCon showed off some pretty new Star Citizen clouds, but not much else

Star Citizen clouds looked great at CitizenCon
Cloud Imperium Games held CitizenCon this weekend, an annual digital event to celebrate all things Star Citizen, and they just showed clouds. Very nice clouds.www.rockpapershotgun.com
CIG will borrow mechanics from Clash of ClansThere again, CIG haven't really given any info on how land claims would protect your base anyway. If it comes under attack, would swarms of NPCs instantly spawn to defend it? What if the attackers beat off the NPC? They are then free to damage the base anyway?
Assuming the shard isn't filled with friends already logged-in of course, aka "server full 50/50".He does say in the next tweet that you can join on friends to switch shards. So you will never be locked out of playing with someone.
There's the rub right thereAssuming the shard isn't filled with friends already logged-in of course, aka "server full 50/50".
Another way of looking at it is: @LittleAnt can play with his buddies on his PvE friends shard, safe from @sovapid and his ganker buddies on their PvP shard.
