Game Discussions Star Citizen Discussion Thread v12

I'd say you're quite an optimist.
Based on past performance, I think 60 years might be closer. If not release, then maybe Beta phase.
This is the problem with saying "I bought in at 3.8 and got what I expected", no consideration appears to be taken for what happened up to that point, the missing ships, content, rewrites, obfuscation, outright lies at citcon every year etc. History, context, and what that means going forward.

Similarly Drew is almost exploding with excitement when he opens a door, but only sees the shiny things of Feb 2022, not all the missing things since 2012. The reality takes time to seep through the shiny baubles. Then his chat tells him about the 100 systems, OMG when there are 100 systems all done like this etc. When.

No Drew, not when.

But I still think the new clouds are great. That's about it.

You won't have them by the end of the year. CI-G have given you the clues in the "roadmap". It's no Da Vinci code.
You realize the SM task is broken up into other deliverables? Those are crucial for static, not dynamic, and they end much sooner than the general SM task. The general server meshing task includes both versions of meshing.

Why should you preoccupy yourself with the whole 10 years of dev boohoo thing everytime you play SC? You play games to have fun, not rant about them for every second you're playing it. Drew is having fun, more power to the guy.

"I don't have an arguement so i'll just resort to refundian lie theories!"

Hah, knew it! The usual tactic. What may be for SC in the future compared to what is for ED (always assuming their knowledge of ED isn't 5 years out of date). Backers have been doing this disingenuous tactic for years.
You see, it is easy to make comparisons like this, because FDev doesn't give you any information at all what might be coming in the future of ED!

Today on Spectrum....

We've been on the 'road to Pyro' since CitCon 2019

Such short memories! They don't remember Citizencon 2016!

Hot take!!!

But we've been told how awesome they are! How exciting! How dare there be dissenting opinions! Probably just a troll fud hater!

Shill thread of the day..

Top comment nails it

Deep cringe. Imagine having a game so broken, that things like "parties work" and "money transfers work" is considered progress to brag about.

We'll have static meshing & Pyro by the end of this year.

Added to the list!

A reminder of Ebob's predictions for 2022:

I firmly believe we'll probably get Pyro + Nyx end of 2022
Proposal! I'll eat a sock if Pyro isn't scheduled to be coming out in a Q4/Q1 Patch at the end of next year.
Well its 2022 now, looking forward to Server Meshing and Squadron 42 within the next 365 days!

Star Citizen. The game that keeps on giving ;)

We'll see! They're in the prediction contest!

Oh you misunderstand. It's not a competition. It's a tradition.

Every year the thread gets at least one new guy who predicts great CIG advances are just [this year +1] away.

They state it proudly and repeatedly, waving it around as some form of proof. Then spend the rest of the time trying to naysay any form of criticism of CIG. Often fairly maniacally.

Those that don't get banned for abuse (having become too immersed in the act of defending a computer game, as if they themselves had been attacked), make it to the grand event:

That moment when their prediction of a second system in 2019, or SC's release in 2020, or a second system in 2021, or whatever, fails mightily to come to pass ;)

You'd have to be an SC veteran with a heart of stone not to enjoy the 🎆 Prediction of the Year Award 🎆 ;)
