It's certainly the opinion of someone who never played SC and who, like many here, have a hard time acknowledging it's already superior to Elite in many aspects. Gameplay included. Those who give it a real go think otherwise.Quote of the Day from the latest ObsidianAnt vid...

Oh the "$5,000,000,000 Flying Window" video is a good one, he seems to be really enjoying it.Ok so now Hawkes is back enjoying ED…
To be fair , some of that does look interesting, although still not enough to tempt me back in. Is/was there ever going to be career progression within SC itself? I personally like the rank/level part of ED, despite the fact it has little impact in the game. What constitutes as gameplay loops is subjective but overall Star Citizen is not too different to EDO.
Space Post Man.
Bounty hunting NPC's, real players, on the ground or in space.
Cargo trading.
Mining, by ship, ground vehicle or hand.
Looting.
Crashsite recovery.
There are a dozen or so NPC mission givers with their own unique story missions.
There are several events:
Nine Tails Lockdown, Pirates take over a quadrant of the system and block all trade, its your job to smuggle supplies in, or search for the quantum jamming fleets and destroy them.
Jumptown, a drugs lab surface side, again you have to smuggle drugs out or stop others from doing it, this is real players.
Xeno Threat.A Terrorist organisation is trying to invade the Stanton System, the UEE Navy had a Javelin destroyer at a naval station, it needs supplying, your job is to protect incoming supply ships, take supplies from those that have been destroyed and fight the Xeno who come in in waves, once the Javelin is fully supplied it will come out and join you in a massive final battle.
If Star Citizen doesn't have any game loops then neither does EDO.
PS: That's a very drunk Jakkern babbling over the server channel in the background, i could listen to him babble random crap for hours.

Also I think the definition of several is (edit) MORE than two. Not twoThat's a rather generous take on it.
"several" events that are now being repeated over and over.

My memory may be getting a little foggy, as it has been roughly 5 years since my refund and 9 since my initial pledge, but I thought that it was mentioned that you would be able to play SQ42 then carry that over to SC. Or did I imagine that bit ? I lose track of what was promised, what was scrapped etc.
More power to him if he can produce entertaining content with it and have fun doing so. That's worth more than whatever "opinion" and it's what games should be about.
Some random people comment from the video you linked to help you decideOk so now Hawkes is back enjoying ED…
Should I do that too?
I just need more random people on the internet to tell me how to think and feel…
I loaded in to ED for the first time since the announcement that "there were currently no plans for ship interiors" to purchase the new carrier modules and check out the interiors and make a jump. Still not enough to bring me back from Star Citizen. Bugged as it is, I have found a new virtual home. Something about all that running from the entry point to the cockpit hehe. It makes abandoning ship that little bit more intense I can tell you, sprinting to the rear with the warning klaxon sounding! That compared with the fade to black Armstrong Moment? you can't
Is/was there ever going to be career progression within SC itself?
There's reputation in place, doing missions of a specific type will increase reputation and open up better paying missions of the same type.

I wish I had bought an Idris-M back in the day because at least I could have sold it by now instead of being stuck with an Idris-P that's nontransferable since it cost MORE for a crapper ship lol. (Not gonna sell the account, to much RL info tied in to it) RIP
I must admit...I like half life Alyx...I'm trying my mate Badger's VR rig out for a few days.Yep precisely. It's about personal enjoyment. Which is why your attempts to tagline these videos as "SC is already superior to X in many aspects. Gameplay included." is so silly. Fun is personal. Gameplay merit is personal. It's all pretty damn subjective.
All you're doing with these incessant repostings is reiterating that you like gameplay X / feature Y / game Z. And that's nice. But it isn't the global fact that you seem to think it is.
For example:
- I think SC's FPS mechanics and weapon roster on foot are properly decent for an MMO. But I also think that its desync issues and woefully uneven AI undercut that plus significantly, putting it in the negative pile overall.
- I could happily while away some time trucking & mining in SC. But it would also grind my gears to lose any short-term progress due to overt bugginess, and any long-term progress due to alpha wipes. That also dumps it into the negative pile overall for me.
- Personally I value gameplay content over vibe. A pretty atmospheric planet which is mainly good for tooling around with your mates aimlessly, for example, holds scant appeal to me.
- I only play games in VR
I could go on, for quite a long time as it happens, but you get the picture right?
That's conclusive global proof that you and I are different people
Or to put it another way.... If I said: "VR games are superior to all flatscreen games in many aspects. Gameplay included."
Would that be a global fact? Or really just my opinion![]()
You think it's dangerous now, wait till your wife finds out how money VR costs.I must admit...I like half life Alyx...I'm trying my mate Badger's VR rig out for a few days.
Besides wrecking the Mole cave by falling over my PC chair and pulling the curtains off the rail... or nearly knocking myself unconscious on the edge of the desk after bending over to pick a pistol magazine off the virtual floor. Playing standing up waving my arms about and knocking monitors off the desk is a distinctly hazardous and damaging pursuit.
I've made up my mind that VR gaming is more dangerous than my old job of jumping out of aeroplanes![]()
Indeed, which is why the efforts of trying to push the narrative that SC has no predicates while attacking anyone who showcases excitement about SC updates or publicly states their preference over other space games, Elite included, are fruitless and vain.
Not sure which particular quote you are referring to but in the context of the discussion here about if SC is indeed the “BDSSE”, “able to compete with any AAA out there” or if SC fidelity “breaks new ground” etc etc (never mind the discussion about CIG and Chris Roberts continuous misrepresentation and potential fraud), personal and anecdotal fun accounts are indeed irrelevant and quite meh to be honest. Hope you agree?I will never forget the "fun is not relevant" I've heard once here![]()
