"State of the Game" Beluga blocking Jameson lol

Fair enough, thought it had to be something like that as no one, not even a Beluga driver could be that stupid, that moronic, that dense as to live stream whilst hacking. :D

well, he's still getting away with it for now. in their noses, meaning on twitch. take that influence!

kudos for the guy and, besides, that would be one of the few really sensible reasons to have a second account.

frontier really needs to step up or else. no way they're going to milk this until 2021 if every dlc is such a monumental screw up.

Isn't it like you driving to work and then you stopped by some "activists" sitting in the middle of the road, smoking pot and blocking entire street "for people's good" and you know that you might be fired for not showing up on time and you just thinking about running them over?

This is a worthwhile cause. I respect the martyrs sacrifice but it should not have to be this way to get loopholes & exploits dealt with in an online shared competitive environment.

But much like a Farmer's tractor protest, the OP should appreciate that the attention seeking behaviour is at the expense of other players, whose frustration is understandable, even if blame is somewhat misplaced.

Not sure that means what you think it means. Dude knows full well that the last guy to do this got his account banned, and he's doing this to protest the broken policies and state of the game for the betterment of everyone. He's literally putting his money where his mouth is to help you.

I think this is probably what's known as "suicide by cop".

I hope such actions yield some result beyond the inevitable ban.

Blocking a station entrance isn't gonna change Fdev's mind imho.
A drop in sales will and that's up to the potential customers.
Once word gets out what a buggy mess ED is becoming potential buyers will back off, sadly enough.

Now, don’t let me rain on anyone’s parade here. But...I feel like some are giving this guy too much credit. Maybe it’s the cynic in me but I think he’s doing it as much for the notoriety as he is for the “love” he has for the game and a genuine desire to see it get better. I think it’s more stunt than actual protest.

Furthermore, he basically copied the last protest, a Beluga blocking the slot using hacks. But at least that protest, using hacks to tank the station weapons, was related to the issue, hacking. Can we get a little more creative please?

He’s wasting the time of other players that paid money to play the game even in its current state. In Open if they choose. In effect, as much as I hate to say it, he is technically griefing in the strictest definition of the word as it applies to this game. Yeah others can just log to solo or PG. But they shouldn’t have to be a part of or a victim of his protest if they don’t want to be.

Ultimately this accomplishes nothing. They’ve gotten the message. An open letter signed by a lot of important “community” representatives. A petition. Dozens of posts here and on Reddit. Threats of legal action and “death threats”. Lmao.

FDev’s incomptence is an ongoing issue, does this guy really think his protest is going to lead to a sudden and real change in culture and leadership at FDev? (Which is what really needs to happen imo). Like they see his protest, all the lead devs look at each other around a conference table, and Braben says “We need to git gud.” Suddenly it’s montage time, with some cool inspirational rock music playing while FDev works tirelessly until the game is fixed and they emerge from the ordeal as a much wiser and better at supporting and developing this game. “Thanks station blocking hacker Beluga guy for helping us realize the error of our ways!” High fives all around. Gankers and carebears hug in the streets. It’s a new era in Elite!

It’s all a bit silly. Yeah, we want a fun, bug free game full of meaningful gameplay and compelling mechanics that work, but this protest rings rather hollow to me.

lol he's still streaming :)

about the complaints about the nuisance to other players ... i'm talking to people routinely capable of working around a frozen user interface, right? switching momentarily to solo is such a drama?

it's not like there are demonstrations every day and when there are, more often than not they exist for a reason. even if you don't agree or even don't give an arx about whatever issue, i would assume you could at least just shrug, accept that minor inconvenience and continue your merry way which is the bare minimum of tolerance if not solidarity. this is not a crime, it's not an offense. it's the equivalent of civil disobedience. and it's still going on because our nurturing caregivers are ... sleeping. go have some fun with it!

hell, it's even fun, there isn't much out of the ordinary happening in front of shinrarta dezhra anyway. this is emergent meta game play, think of the lore possibilities! why so stiff?
