State of the Game

Its a linear/cylindrical grouping of stars...seems either A: Really Cool! or B: Bugs in the stellar forge?

Ah i see. Yeah I've never encountered them before myself but there are quite a few threads I've seen over the years - as Ender said, they are artefacts, from I believe crossover points in the starcharts they used, coupled with the stellar forge software filling in bits - which then makes weird geometric groupings. I guess it's the way the forge incorporates the star chart info and can't round off all the corners.

Strangely though, my answer is pretty much the same as Ender's, but ended up being longer. This is confusing to me.

So is Benny from Crossroads next weeks mascot are we going with someone more mainstream?

I feel it's time we honour Danny Devito.

I have to admit I've never really watched crossroads, so I'm ignorant to his legendary status.

So to be honest I'm good with someone else, but I won't be upset if Benny gets chosen.

Could always go halfway and choose another Benny, such as Benny Hill, Ben E Kingsley, or even Benny Franklin - bearing in mind that I didn't think this through at all, so the last two are stupid suggestions!

I'm good with Sir Daniel DeVito, or even one of the previous suggestions like Ian Tearful Beale, or Craiiiiiiiig David? Which also makes me think of someone like Snoop, but the memes would have to be forumised for safety! ;)

Let's see what else comes up before tomorrow, unless we have overwhelming support for one. (still hoping for an Ender week really, just to see what horrors could be found as internet enders...)

Ooh there's so many meme out there.

Just back from the film.....very interesting but at the same time mixed feelings really.

Visually its fantastic with very well thought out technology (although with such designs its quite hard to judge scale), but.....but.....the acting is so wooden and flat. Chalamet does the job but he's utterly forgettable. I'm also on the fence over Momoa. While Lynch was over the top I think Denis is far too understated to the point of boredom.

My other problem is with Hans Zimmers music. The soundtrack to me is weak lacking an identity....I get this is trying to being together various cultural influences but he (IMO) misses here.

I'm a big fan of Lynches film which carved out a unique identity (despite being uneven acting wise) but I fear this Dune won't linger in the memory because it feels so stilted. Plus, even though Lynch got panned for his Dune (if you forget the ending) it packs in an awful lot and with outtakes does the same story in half the time.

I'm going to say it- this Dune is good, but its not the Kwisatz Haderach either....

Chalamet is extremely overrated IMO and his resting B face doesn't help matters. As for Momoa he's good at what he does but like Ryan Reynolds he plays the same character in every movie and shows he makes.

As for Dune did it feel like you were watching part one of a potential trilogy or was it a self-contained movie with the potential for more?
