or if it's confusing who to please (since they insist on trying to cater to all with their own vision), they could do what logically any other game has done in a similar scenario, and make the client mod-friendy, implement a steam workshop type setup and release the server system.

Then everyone can get what they want and we dont have to keep settling for compromises or outright alienation.
Want to play the canonical game? connect to official server without mods. Want to blaze your own trail your own way, connect to your own or someone else's server with the mods you want. With the mods allowing a complete refactor of the game, new ships, changed ships, different rules, customized systems, different shaders, new missions, community driven content, etc.

I spent six months as a moth amd trust me, at night, it can get very confusing, so please, when showering, close your windows. The change in humidty use to make me cough and, If in doubt, please leave out your very best cashmere woolen garments for us to rest (tee hee) on. Many thanks in (retrospective) advance.

In other news, am I the only one finding the whole hand wringing thing over these content creator lads stuphs a bit… weird? I mean, fair play to them for putting themselves in front of a camera I suppose, but people acting like them getting upset and tottering off to Star Citizen.. it’s the surest sign of the apocalypse seems a bit over the top, especially yer man talking about that Hawkes Gaming fella “falling out of love“ with the game and writing a eulogy about him as if he died?

Is society really at a point where youtube folks are this cherished?!?

The only way to settle this is by 'diplomatic comparison' of your subscribers.

By which I mean:
Arm them all with pointy sticks, put them in a field and leave them to fight it out.

Whomever's subscribers win gets to be told what the correct opinion is by yours truly.
