State of the Game

Where has that been established? I admit I'm probably ignorant. I only just started my second year of Elite Dangerous a few weeks back.
you can search for the names of stellar objects in the galaxy map. anything actually named that would show up (except back when it would also crash the system sometimes).

Now granted, they could have purposely ignored the text "raxxla" despite it actually being named that... but such a thing would be a very poor way to hide something you dont want to be found except by someone really out to find it. not just some person honking a system or passing thru.

so it's extremely reasonable to assume that the galaxy map not finding it means it's just not named raxxla in the map. It would be incredibly stupid of fdev to have a lost/missing thing actually labeled and located. Sure it wouldn't be the first time they goofed. .. but that would be pretty bad.

By that logic, Raxxla should be in there too. Did you search for that?

Of course not.... Why, that would be unthinkable

As many of the self-professed 'explorers' I read posting on the forum have about as much imagination as the average rock...

by what logic do you think raxxla is named raxxla and yet still not found?
Years ago the first discovered information wasn't visible in game so Michael Brooks raided the database to let CMDR's know how many discoveries they had made to date - 3rd February 2015.

CMDR Mack put together a searchable list here: http://dump.bass-speaker.com/discovery.php
And by CMDR name here : http://dump.bass-speaker.com/chart.php
(yay for my 12 bodies in 4 systems using my starter cobra  )

Crucially this is data from the FD database and doesn't rely on running EDDB or similar so is complete.

The rumour that raxxla has been flown through dates from 8th July 2014 so it is highly likley that the star is in this list and it will have been scanned and logged as a first discovered automatically.

Why did I read...

bodies are searchable just the same as system names, and the rumor that someone honked the system has never been substantiated.

No more substantiated than the hint during one of the live streams that searching roid belts is the "right track" for searching for raxxla.

Relax, take a DEEP breath. Let it go........

it would make far more sense for raxxla to be a mega ship (which would not be searchable from the galaxy map or instantly gleamed from honking etc).. and this mega ship could be placed in a roid belt somewhere...

even near the bubble, this would almost be impossible to just happen upon. almost nobody ever drops into roid belts, they're functionally useless to the game.

it would be the perfect place and way to hide something you never want actually found but still dont want to be called a liar about it being in the game and reachable by players.

I've never claimed that my argument was rational...

The best ones aren't!

probably healthier.

Yup, but what is a cinnabun? I presume it's a bun with cinnamon on it, but if you could explain I'd appreciate it, especially as I can't be fudged to google it. That also means don't give me a link nobber.

yea... that would just be not only dangerous (in a large enough party where you'd think that would happen) ...but the logistics of everyone getting to their proper home later would be annoying... plus it's just kinda not the point when you goto a party like that. you go to watch. the whole key thing defeats the purpose. it just doesn't make sense. I think it might have happened here and there but it's mostly a hollywood type fabrication.

Your main concern about going to a swingers party, is that everyone ends up at their own house? You are strange - interestingly strange (at times) but strange.

Haha, Ender's never found Raxxla!

Nor any social skills.

He has yet to realise that it can be found in the same place as his sense of humour.

Agreed! ;)

bodies are searchable

Yup, that's what you say when you get the male host at the swingers party, right? ;)

I reckon it's a wrecked annie called raxxla in an asteroid belt, possibly not far from the bubble.

Raxxla is the red velvet cake of the ED world.

Offers so much promise but what you're essentially eating is red food colouring sponge.

You mean it wont have had all kinds of galaxy wormholing effects implemented for it if it's found? it wont give the discoverer all kinds of unique loot / ship / etc stuff ? It'll just be some kind of placeholder or thing which you can't interact with and in the end wont benefit / alter the game by having been discovered?

(they are bigger than they look when you get them other than from home-made)

there are two people involved ..only half are going to their own house.

Nor any social skills.
I have elite social skills.

What does your agreement matter though, you've lost any authority to such things by thinking american bacon isn't the one true bacon of the world.

equal opportunity. Wouldn't be right to treat males/females different. that's 50% less fun.
