State of the Game

But did you knock him down to a price you felt happy to pay? ;)
Well, after only 20 odd minutes actual play in ED - I'm buying it. I must take him down the pub, and ply him with a few beers, may help with the price :)
I've got AMD FSR on At Ultra Quality
Res at 3440x1440, and am getting 110-115 FPS on a planet with a lovely atmosphere.

I'm happy.

Back to the game :)

EDIT: I also dont seem to be having any issues with the system map, or Galaxy map - or if I am, I havent noticed them !
I was expecting some based on other users reports.

It'll be interesting to see how Michael and Tilly get off Waterworld in season 2.
It will be written out easily- big blinky light was also a beacon or opening the pod set it off.

I'm at a loss though to see where it will all go next though, given all the inconsistencies. For example, Harrys pod null field- if the pod generated it, surely the big brains on Terminus would have easily seen what it was, since it was based on old tech?

I did like Empire dishing out the punishment though, thats really nasty :D

I'd be quite seriously suggesting anyone who feels impotent rage over a game should either seek professional help immediately or just stop playing.

I know children feel that being continually angry over something is quite fashionable and the "in thing", but therapy might just assist in helping them grow up.
If only they are children though. You usually see the adults pushing the buttons.
I generally think that people get too invested in the game and feel threatened when FD drops something they don't like that they won't even play with... and then the mad hysterics begin.
It's always been like that since 2014 only it was strawmen, objective and subjectives back then, to win any discussion.

It's funny that the show has gone to great pains to make Mike and Tilly the intellectual centre of the show and both are off paddling on Waterworld and no one with a brain cell is left to run the Foundation on Terminus.

I figured that the kid would survive but I was obviously wrong on that as they need to have a conflict for next season between Day and Dusk.

Anyone who has ever known you is now dead and thus your existence erased. And now you'll live without sensory input in a living hell. Day was really annoyed :D

To me at least his character is the only saving grace so far- although he was a ruthless git with the Spiral he has grown and I think robolady regrets what she had to do just a tad

I wonder if the gardener will show up in season 2 as some sort of sounding board for Day given he can't tell Bender as she'll snap his neck.

Also, yea that was a fate worse than death for the gardener.

Dear Netflix / Amazon or whoever is doing this...

:D that would be a fun twist.

In another depressing thought I just saw Discovery S4 is now running. I wonder how much whispering / crying / hugging is going on?

So far, I'm borrowing it to give it a 'trial' run - I think I may have to buy it though - ED looks great
I'm sure I can justify it to myself by using it for work as well.
.
Although I now have the issue, that in station, frame rates have dropped, due to greater resolution (Only getting about 40-50 now), running at 3440x1440.
Time to experiment with Nvidia NIS, AMD FSR etc etc.

Everything is a trade off :)
Personally I found that NIS was giving me better FPS and visual acuity than the AMD offering. YMMV or course - but, if playing with NIS remember to switch out the AMD software... (the Nvidia software gives you a choice of resolutions too, I think I chose the highest and was quite impressed.

Not that i watch these shows, i'm starting to think they're being written by 40yo goths... would that be a fair reflection?
Discovery has swearing officers, chain of command issues etc while Shatner and Picard era had talking and reason.

Its almost as if the writers are children writing for children with all the sobbing, shouting etc when twenty years ago you'd have a meaningful dialog.

How do I get NIS?

How do I get NIS?
latest Nvidia driver that came out last week has it in the comtrol panel. I'm on my laptop so don't have eny image editing software aboard. But I think it is the top line in 3D settings section.
If you enable it, and also run GeForce Experience, there is an option there to enable in games which needs an additional download, but will present you with the suggestions of which resolution will be 'useful'.

Its part of the latest nvidia drivers.
Upgarde to those, then go into Nvidia Control Panel, Manage 3D setting, and turn Image scaling on. The slider is just for sharpness.
What happens then, is back in ED, you will have 5 new resolutionsa to choose from, which are based on your monitors capabilities.
Choose one, and see how you go.

N.B. when you initially turn on Image scaling, also tick the overlay indicator
It'll show in top left of screen in-game. Blue = sharpen only,
Greem means it's upscaling to your monitors native res.

That is a much better description than mine - well done - I don't have it in front of me to remember!
