Stuttering and hitching after updates

I just updated to that driver as well. I haven't noticed FOV-POP yet, but I only had a few minutes to test. Will try again later.

I have 436.48 release 10/01/2019, it says it's the latest one.

I do use GEForce Experience to update the drivers. It's worked well for me.
Same No Problems. Have Noticed that jump is a little bit longer though, by about 2 secs.

You folks with no stutter or FOV-pop, are you running with vysnc on or off?
vysnc off, FPS locked at 91.

Disabled Spectre and Meltdown Patches seeing my CPU is Hit Hard (I7 4820K @ 4.3Ghz Quad Chanel Memory (stock speed))
Also, I've done some tweaks in ED tailored(bespoke) for my system, seeing I`m playing in VR.
I`m not saying to disable the security patches, that`s what I had to do.
not worried, don't Visit Pawn(misspelt on purpose) or DL any Yarrrrr programs 🏴‍☠️if you catch my drift.🏴‍☠️

Steady GPU/CPU Frametime, In space 90FPS in the Station 56-45 FPS.
(FpsVR util to display my CPU Frame Time)

Anyhoo Try This...

Download MSI Afterburner, In the RivaTuner, Limit Your FPS to your Lowest FPS, this should give you a Flat Line in your FrameTime.
By having a Flat Line in your frame time this will give you a judder-free experience.
(set the graph for frame time in MSI to be displayed onscreen)

(It`s not a solution maybe there is a problem)

G-Night, please excuse the ramblings of an Old Git, My eyes are Tired and Burnt from the VR Lenses 😭

Sigh.

I’m not bragging up the card. I’m telling you the problem arrived with the updates. Previous to this the FPS NEVER dropped below 60 no matter what I was doing. Now they routinely drop to 30 or 40s when in the SRV on planets without any other commander around, open, PG, or solo.

So something changed and crapped on video performance with the updates.

You are playing in 4K or 1440p, or maybe 1080p with 2x supersampling, right?

I can confirm the FPS drops. My laptop has a 2080, too. In 1080p no supersampling, everything else maxed out I used to have rock solid 144 FPS (210ish without the limiter) most of the time (with the exception of dense asteroid rings and stations maybe, where sometimes I had as low as 135 FPS). Since the update the frame rates are noticeably worse. In stations and dense rings, also on planet surfaces, the FPS can drop to the 100 to 120 range.

Come on Duck, compared to your old PS4 days these must be minor issues. You're in PC heaven now ;)
It's because I'm in heaven that it bothers me, LOL. Princess and The Pea. It was amazing having locked 60fps with no stuttering (I've always suffered stuttering to some extent on PS4). So when an update comes and now I get this stuttering and FOV-pop, it really is jarring in contrast to the buttery, silky-smooth experience I had grown used to before the update.

Sensei said a clean boot helped to get rid of the stuttering in the other thread.

Maybe worth a shot.

Can confirm the stutter and lag here too. I noticed it for the first time yesterday running the CG in open. After the update and patches I didn't notice it till now, almost like it was creeping up. Gonna update my nvidia driver and try the clean boot and see what happens..fingers crossed

I think his stuttering is different than my stuttering, mine which might actually be better described as a "pop". Sometimes it looks like FOV is shifting quick, other times it looks like I'm being kicked back in time a second. It's not the typical "skip a frame" stutter we see with games that have FPS drops.

I it's a frame skip, not s drop
Nothing lowers in the fps figures, it a missing frame in a way.

I get it when I rotate when flying into a station, only once but i get it consistently. Just after I have entered through the slot and I'm 1 pad deep into station
