[SUGGESTION] Minor text change to clarify game modes.

Proposal:

Change the following text on the start menu:

Open Play
Private Group
Solo Play​
to:
Open Play (PvP)
Private Group
Solo Play (PvE)​

Purpose:
  • It's a clarification of 'Community Defined Intent' of these game modes for new players.
Impact:
  • 0% impact on game play.
  • Approx 1 to 2 man hours of work for development and documentation.
  • Approx 1 to 2 man hours of work for testing.
Risk:
  • Very Low chance of bugs or issues.
Benefit:
  • New players can clearly know what mode to enter based on their preferred play style with no impact on existing players, creating a more satisfyingly game experience.

You basically proved their point lol. Having a warning wouldn’t necessarily be bad. Though, I guess the wording was good enough for people to understand that PvP was possible in open (aka free for all?).

Open - you will meet people, some of them might be #&@£s!
That would be more accurate.

Labelling Open as PvP is very misleading and new players could easily interpret that as the intent.
There's a lot more off-the-cuff Co-op going on than people realize.

Yes, Open (PvP) indicates it's a game mode specifically dedicated to PvP, they do that and I will be requesting a new mode called Open (PvE) where killing another player results in instant banning from the PvE mode!

If you read up on 3.0 beta. Crime and Punished and Crime Update Rules and Feedback. It something you might want to look into.

Was agreeing with you, we don't need to change the text, open is for PvP and PvE. Make it implied PvP only then it will get awful lonely with just the PvP players in there :D

OPEN (all traffic visible in system)
PRIVATE (select Pilots Federation traffic visible in system)
SOLO (all other Pilots Federation non-visible)
ARENA (PvP specific game mode)

If you want MORE players to never bother logging in to Open...this is a great idea!

How about just removing Arena from that menu - that would please me no end. (Leave it on the launcher window if you must. ;) )


P.S. Played in Open all of yesterday afternoon without seeing a single hollow icon - switched to Mobius PVE in the evening and there was the occasional one from time to time.
