Engineers Summary: Engineers, Material requests and Time.

Not everyone has hours and hours throughout every day of the week to collect materials and other items to change things with the engineers
What an absurd idea.
Whether you spend 60 minutes or 6 times 10 minutes it's both the same amount of time.
If you spend 6 hours or 6 times 1 hour it is still the same amount of time.
What you are saying is you can' t play hours and hours every day and that is not fair.

Laziest, really. Jesus those people who do something other than sit on their ass and play a video game are so damn lazy. Why don't they buckle down and grind some loot and do something worthwhile. Seriously though stop that crap, the only lazy people are the gamers who play for 20 hours or more a week. The people who have a life and responsibilities are anything but lazy.

I'd really appreciate if you please start being constructive. the forum has already gone nuts and this doesnt help. I have a job and 2 kids, you cant call me lazy if I struggle of sleeping because I want to play 20h a week.. anything but lazy.
 
I just tried 5 different upgrades after getting materials all level 1 and 2 for the dweller they ALL CAME OUT WORSE then the default settings. Please anyone have a clear guide on how to get at least a semi descent mod. I spent 3 days hunting down this crafting materials. Now I am out of materials and back at square one.

dont think he is saying that. he wants to play and can play hours and hours, just doesnt want to spend them doing what you enjoing doing, and it is resonable.

But I really think the game has enough content for people that doesnt want to look for some of the suff, there is no need to change everything they dont like.

dont like looting? dont do it. dont like prospecting? dont do it. dont like searching? dont do it. dont expect to have the same stuff that people doing all these things, that would not be fair.

Don't think you're wrong at all, to be honest. Naked time-sinks not even dressed up in the form of engaging mission content or dialogue or anything, really (just fetch us N^n Widgets™) has been a repeat issue that's come up often enough. Short, blunt description of that: Just lots and lots (and lots) of time not for the reward, but to get started on the chasing the reward trail, not what exactly you'll actually get, but a rough idea of what you'll get for the time spent.

Regarding the just fetch us N^n Widgets™: Was there not a single eyebrow raised at the fact that the materials + data storage had to be expanded to 600units/200 units respectively? Does that pair of numbers alone (my storage is near full - still don't have set I need for the tier 1 upgrade I want) not raise any eyebrows or raise any flags?

As a suggestion and/or question to the team: Is it not feasible/reasonable (re: the systems now in place in game) to eliminate the physical object / space debris/commodity collection, thereby reducing items to track, and using scan data alone on vessels a reasonable possibility to move to a direction that simultaneously mitigates the database load for servers, and time-sink for players? Or perhaps utilizing existing systems such as community goals and/or missions to "liberate" engineers locked off from the world (that owns the DLC) and reward participating CMDRs with access to their abilities? No sarcasm or ill-will here, I'm genuinely asking with the intent of engaging in dialogue geared toward making this latest addition to the game more accessible and community-oriented.

I'm not all bad-news-bears here, either. I'm loving many of the plain-as-day improvements to the game engine. I've got increased framerate in multiple areas, enjoying the new art/graphic enchancements/improvements and sounds. Kudos there.

it does not have to take a week to get all the materials... a couple hours a night doing 'things' targetter towards material gathering and you should have ample...

an hour scanning ships and wakes at a nav beacon would yield a fair number of data materials, while there destroying the wanted ships will yield a heap of technology materials, go mining for an hour or two in the various rings will yield suface mining type materials and scanning some surface installations will yield you more data materials... as for the cargo type materials (not meaning relics or MA's, UA's) pick missions with the material reward you are looking for...
surely a few nights at 2 hours a night should enable you to gather enough materials for your upgrades...

I gave you right, up to a point ... even in the most inspired, logical and pleasant ways to get material, you should need minimum 2 months to change the total level of your ship at the level held by AI immediate ! Here I think is one of the problems the game .. why not run dear NPC's after materials? to be in step with us? I know that sounds like a joke and it's not possible :) but gradual introduction of changes to AI ships would have seemed to me a strict necessity and fairness to the players!

I'm agree with your premise, but not your opinion.

The game is designed for a player base , the player base has an average , the normal thing, are not power players like us, it is normal people who want to enjoy a game at times, complicate both things and make them so long will not bring nothing but their development problems that people simply do not want to put forth so much.

The result will be that four players will have what they want, be proud and have invested far more time than the others in return will have a powerful ship as a reward. But the game is not intended to reward those who work harder , if not pay me for it , I is designed for everyone to have fun .

To modify the internal compartments do not need more than a couple of good runs, the problem comes when you want to get an experimental modification, and suppose you have a python, that is 5 weapons, and you want five experimental modifications specific, to get them you need first, an experimental modification which happens 5% of the time, that 5% have to keep in mind that only touch you 15% of the time the specified one you want, we're talking about need to invest more than 100 attempts, and that multiply it by 5 weapons and if you do not have luck ... we talk about more than 1000 attempts ... multiplied by the materials of the simplest recipes ... 2000 Vanadium, Nickel 1000, 1000 Galvanashing alloy = 500-2000 kill ships ... if you think you can do that in 2 nights in 2 hours every night ... tell me your secret please ...

S0k4r0, I'm happy that you can't have a top notch Python with special effects in a month or two, even in 6 months.

BTW, do not wave the "new/casuals/non hardcore" player's flag. you are speaking for yourself and not for a player base.

Of course I speak for myself , I have only used " the player base " to reinforce my opinion . The downside is that I am not the only one who thinks so , if not ... we would not be speaking it right now in many different post . That means that something is not right .

I don't really understand the "let's tell the company how I want to play the game" turns into "it is broken, fix now", I never wrote Nintendo asking to change Zelda game so I could have te best weapons at the first levels, I just played the game.

you and I have been prospecting together.. you know as well as I do where to find materials, we even found pollonium, yttrium, and the damn arsenic. do not dare to show me a post of someone that doesn't find materials as a reason why the game is not right.

I know some things need a tweak or two, that is normal in any development process, but that list.. I know you can do better than just collect a random list of opinions from people that don't want to invest a single second in the game, when some of them are know to just love whinging around for no particular reason and threat leaving the game every day.

Aplicate yourself in your own words and do not put me examples of Video Games in 1986. When people could not qualify for a forum of opinion , that probably would have burned too.

ok, let's keep it on topic.. what is your plan for this python fully topnotch modded in 2 days, keep killing mostly harmless T7 players?? don't need to, the new AI does for you, so.. why the rush?
