Summary
System: Chi Eridani
Station: Steve Masters (Orbis starport, large pads available, 2,201 Ls from main star, 58.23 Ly from Sol)
Objective: Hand in Combat Bonds after fighting for Social Chi Eridani Revolutionary Party in Conflict Zones
Time limit: 10th April 3311 @ 06:00 UTC

Description
Imperial agents have been blamed for an outbreak of combat in the Federally controlled Chi Eridani system.
Several incidents have occurred between supporters of Shadow President Jerome Archer and Senator Denton Patreus of the Empire. The former group blames the latter for trying to subvert Federal governance of the system.
Vox Galactica spoke to a representative for Jerome Archer's power base in Chi Eridani:
Recent interactions with these Imperial troublemakers have been challenging, to say the least. But we didn't expect them to flood the system in such large numbers! As such they should be treated as a hostile invading force. Patreus's proxy squadrons must be driven out to solidify Jerome Archer's position as the key figurehead of Chi Eridani.
Archer's power base has called for combat pilots to sign up to the ongoing conflict. Pilots willing to participate can register at Steve Masters starport in Chi Eridani.
Pilots who contribute on Archer's behalf will receive credits and a Federal Assault Ship Federation Utility paint job. Those who are specifically pledged to Jerome Archer's Power will also receive 40,000 merits if the Archer campaign emerges victorious.
The two factions have set out week-long operations to establish their positions in the system, which begin on the 3rd of April 3311.
To be eligible for rewards you must sign up as an active participant before handing in Combat Bonds at Steve Masters starport in the Chi Eridani system.
Please note that if you have any crew members, a proportion of your combat bonds will be automatically assigned to them. These combat bonds will not count towards your personal contribution total, and your crew will receive the reward for these combat bonds when they are handed in. The proportion of combat bonds assigned to your crew will depend on their rank.
Be aware that faction-state changes and other disruptive events can negatively impact markets and station services, and could prevent the initiative from running smoothly.
Notes:
  • Competing with Imperial CG
  • Steve Masters is at planet Fansipan
  • Station services: Commodities Market, Shipyard, Outfitting, Repair, Restock, Refuel, Social Space

1. Question: I didn't see any Power CZs in my quick check, because although the system is currently contested, PCZs are of course still broken 5 months later. Anyway, think Power combat bonds count for the CG? I doubt it, but if someone wants to test, please let us know.

2. Ground CZs: 3 Medium, 1 low, 0 high

Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease give me HIGH GCZs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Only standard CZs in this CG.

I think if there are any Wars/Civil Wars/Elections going on, there won't be any PP CZs. Not sure if that's 100% true, but so far this rule of thumb has served me well (and of course you need to have two Powers above the conflict threshold).

This CG could have some funny outcomes of one Power wins the CG but the other takes control of the system. Or even a third Power. I assume those 40k merits won't count for the system and are just personal, like the ones for assignments.

Call me a funny old fish but, why does this CG exist when Powerplay does this all time?
Lore? I can't imagine any other reason why it would be deliberately called out like that and given a CG.

Or I just want to see a fan taken to the flames of a major Imperial-Federal conflict. There sure is no Titans to distract from the squabbles this time around... (could also just be Frontier throwing a bone to the people that wanted a community goal)

Its just really weird to replicate what already happens for what seems(?) no real reason.
Contested Acquisitions are sufficiently rare as to arguably need replicating, though.

At least this way there's an opportunity for some actual fights versus the other side for those who want one (or for that matter those who don't care at all which Power takes Chi Eridani but just want a fight of some sort).

(The CG doesn't state outright that the winning Power will be given control of the system in Powerplay, either. It's an obvious implication and Grom/Torval/ALD forces should only try to take it instead as an art project, but it's not specifically said)

I was so puzzled by it all I suggested this: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/threa...missions-but-power-wide.636156/#post-10597100

Speaking for myself, in line with what others have mentioned, I will take part in this because I want to do a CG, and I haven't been involved with PP (not yet, at least).
Also, fancying new paintjobs for ships I don't own!
Its all great but I just find it an odd overlap given FD seem to have wanted more dynamically player driven content.

Ha-Ha-Ha.
People who swear to this power will receive 40000 reward points. If I understand correctly, I have long said CG and PP2 are incompatible !

Hi all. I've been struggling to get online since last night. It worked briefly this morning (ET) after the servers restarted but it then kicked me out with one of several color snake errors. Hours of trying later, I finally got on in solo mode. I'm not about to run a "community" goal in solo mode but happy to be logged on.

I see a total of 3 factions at war:
A. Social Chi Eridani Revolutionary Party, which I believe is the CG host as they own the system.
B. Falcons' Nest.
C. Alectrona Imperial Society.

There are space CZ between Falcons' and Alectrona and Social and Alectrona. Social owns the system at 43% inf, while Falcons are 21%, and Alectrona at 20%. Not sure how they got into a fight. Regardless, the nearest CZ was for Falcons so I worked that briefly on their behalf. Back at the station, I see I earned vouchers for BOTH Falcons and Social. When I turned them in, Falcons were accepted, Social said "-100%, 0 credits" in the Contact total.

Oh, and another weirdness, the first time I connected, I was pledged to Aisling. Same rank as I'm currently with Winters, but Aisling shows up in the Power button on the right-hand panel.

Known bugs? Beta? Game doesn't like me today? Anyone else seeing these?

Does switching side impact negatively wherever you already earned for the other side, maybe?
That would be smart and fair
