You also get a complimentary idiotic smirk on your Holo mug.
Only if you don't stick with the Fligh Suit, but yes. And you lose your glasses in the Codex.
O7,

You also get a complimentary idiotic smirk on your Holo mug.
It may be time for me to take the leap and move on to Odyssey.
The situation that was described is making a swift run for it after shutting down power, to not run into scavengers. And that is a lot faster when you can just run through permanently open door than having to stop and charge every single one.No if you have the needed access level and the power is out, all you need to do is to charge it and it will open when you approach. No need to over charge it and to leave it open.
It's 9 in the bubble and 4 in Colonia. Other than that nice summary!Custom engineering upgrades to suits and weapons requires unlocking 10 new engineers in the bubble and 3 in Colonia (if you are there) then requiring collecting materials at planetary bases.
Yes, I just thought I'd mention it for the people that don't know that you don't have to overload every door. The situation that was described is making a swift run for it after shutting down power, to not run into scavengers. In my case they arrive by dropship above my scorpion 30 seconds after the power goes down.Yes, I just thought I'd mention it for the people that don't know that you don't have to overload every door.
But in the case of nicking the regulator it's useful as the guards/scavengers can't get in there to attack you (atleast if you didn't turn off the authorization checks), and they seem to often gather up in front of one of the doors, so you can take your time, turn on the shields, and run out the door where there aren't any guards..
You pretty much have it. It's legs (FPS) for Elite. I have more fun in Horizons and really don't do much in Odyssey.Wow! A lot to consider. Thanks to you all.
Here's what I got out of this thread and I may be missing something but...
It appears that if I'm not interested in the walking around on the planet stuff that I might as well just stick with horizons. First off - I don't do FPS. I've dipped my toe in a few times in the 43 years I've been gaming on a PC but it just never did anything for me. That said: My play style is bounty hunting, the occassional assasination mission, harvesting hi-res sites and short to medium range passenger missions. Every now and then I get a wild hair and scoot off on a couple or 3 days seeing how far I can fly out into the galaxy in the wierdest direction I can think of (which might happen once or twice in a real year). Not a big fan of pirates (role play) and if I happen to be in the right ship then I'll kill 'em just because - pirate and I don't give a hoot whether their kids go hungry that night or not.
So - if I'm missing something about Odyssey I'd really appreciate knowing what it is.![]()
If this were a mix of ship and on-foot (AKA the Mandalorian before he became a babysitter), that would be pretty awesome gameplay. Track down a target as he moves from system to system (perhaps by questioning people in the local stations), find his ship on some planet, track him on foot, give him the "I can bring you in warm or I can bring you in cold" speech, collect him one way or the other, load him on your ship, fly to the mission giver, collect bounty. Yep, that might be pretty cool, especially if there was enough variety between different hunts (for example, maybe sometimes he flees in his ship and you have to disable it without destroying it, or tag it with a tracker, etc). You like bounty hunting and assassinations? Then Odyssey should be for you. Locate, identify, stalk and shoot the target (one shot preferred) and exfiltrate.
Comes pretty close to what Odyssey has to offer. If this were a mix of ship and on-foot (AKA the Mandalorian before he became a babysitter), that would be pretty awesome gameplay. Like the Constrictor mission from the first game?If this were a mix of ship and on-foot (AKA the Mandalorian before he became a babysitter), that would be pretty awesome gameplay. I completed that mission. Remember it well....
Odyssey just gives you more options to mix up game sessions,Wow! A lot to consider. Thanks to you all.

Yes I read Inara wrong. My eyes are old. I updated my post. It's 9 in the bubble and 4 in Colonia. Other thI opdated my post.an that nice summary!
Ships stay the same. For legs, with basic gear high end NPC's are major bullet sponges. You want to get at least lvl 3 gear. You don't need any engineers for that, in EDO those ar for adding specials to leg gear. With some of those you become near godlike, but it's a major grind. It may be time for me to take the leap and move on to Odyssey. But I have a general question before I pull the switch.
I have 9 or 10 - I forget - ships in my fleet. Weapons, shields, FSD, Fuel Scoops and anything else that can be upgraded (except thrusters - not going down that grind road so only grade 3 for them) have been upgraded to grade 5. Took a lot of time and money to get there.
So - if I don't upgrade to Odyssey level engineering standards am I gonna be completely outclassed with my Horizons level stuff. If so how much of a grind is it gonna be to bring my self up to spec (I hate mining, HATE IT)? Not gonna do the guardian stuff regardless but... if I won't be able to compete I may just have to grit my teeth and tackle the task.
