Thargoid Interactions

Would love to know if others are having this experience. I dropped into five or six NHSS yesterday and didn't notice anything, but that doesn't mean what you saw isn't happening, might not be that widespread? Did you take screenshots?

i did but because i am on ps4, finding it difficult to upload them bear with me

a close up of the residue from attack clearly has mycoid virus mixed in it

sorry about the lighting but there is a lot more orange/yellow than green

hope this helps out and sorry if i am seeing things where there is nothing

Cloud colour looks normal to me, the hexagon pattern I've only seen once before IIRC, I wasn't sure if it was just a graphical glitch, but maybe not seeing as you captured it on a PS4.
There is no solid evidence that there is mycoid virus in there (you're jumping to conclusions ;)), but the yellow/orange colours in the attack marks could be something else.......

Had my first encounters in HIP 17692 tonight. Couple of NHSS's - Thargoid scanned me in both and left me alone. Do they have tractor beams? Looked like it was collecting and something travelled towards it from one of the destroyed ships when it was being scanned.

Alcatraz prison ship in system badly damaged.

Yeah I think they are some kind of tractor beam.
They usually leave you alone unless you have something they want, your within 500m after the scan, or they've got a bone to pick with you! ;)

They keep changing, evolving, quite fast. After of maybe a week of having not been in contact I can say they move much much faster (have to constantly boost to get away on a science Courier w/boost ~600m/s) and much more agile now, as well as act a little bit more aggressive. They ram now too... Agitated one by getting too close as she was leaving and got attacked within second or two, very very short warning, and then she proceeded to ram(!!) me, got my Courier shields down and hull to 10% in one blinding fast blow. The way she accelerated right then was beyond any human vessel as far as I could tell, downright defying the laws of physics.

Well that's weird, my FDL can only boost to about 500 & can still out run them. Not seen a change to the 500m rule yet either. I last encountered them last night. They definitely do more damage when they attack now though!

Peculiar. Maybe to do with the variants? Or maybe I was mistaken, the speed drops quite fast on the Courier, without boosts it does drop to under 500m/s in the science spec currently... Not sure about it, in retrospective. Perhaps I'll have to experiment more, I reckon.

Worth double checking, would be scarey if some of them could go over 500!.
Although My FDL can't boost anywhere near as fast as a courier, I can spam the boost so I can maintain about 475-500 :).

I'm my experience anything over 480 and you can keep away from them, all be it just about.

Well that I can instantly say is not the case, as I can confirm at least that speed; I FRAPS'd the end of the fight (Yea, just hit the record key in the end only :( ), and in that the swarm is gaining very fast at me right as soon as my speed drops to just a m/s under 500 after FA off and turning around to face them. Speed dropped to 469m/s by just gliding FA off, and at that speed the Thargoid and her Thargons were gaining very, very fast indeed. Scary fast. Just viewed it again to make sure. Wasn't imagining when I noticed I had to constantly boost on my Courier just to make space in between. Insanity! I could upload it if anyone is interested. It's not a very entertaining clip though.

I have a feeling we haven't even seen them at their fastest yet... Which is sort of worrying. If they become faster than any human/commander vessel it will be a little bit too much of trouble. Couple that with their new-found agility and their acceleration and their toughness -enter world of hurt. Rebuy a galore.

Hmm, very odd, their must be variation then, as I mentioned my FDL 'only' boosts to 500, not had a problem escaping...... so far!

Hi guys and girls.

Has anyone been thargodicted by three thargoids.
Just happened to me and I didn't have the neutralizer luckily I was on route to tharg ship not returning lol.

Yes, happened to me. They just carried on their way ignoring me. What was the point of that I wondered!

I'm not sure but wings of thargoids looks like will be a thing

ive had an angry red thargoid hyperdict me 3 times so far just hyperdicts, no scans or threatening behaviour. it almost like it was trying to get something or someone else but got me instead

I had a hyperdiction with 3 ships, although I only saw 2 there was a 3rd Thargoid wake.

that is definitely what i have had for my first one, although i managed to use the camera suite and zoom in on it, i noticed that it was had a red glow from the start and looked like it was following something, unfortunately i didn't get screen shoot cos it was a blink and you will miss it moment. a couple of members of my group have had the same thing happen so we have nicknamed it the "Red Thargoid" so we can see if there more or less sightings. all i know for sure is that this red thargoid ain't looking for us yet

Perhaps it thought you were being rude for ignoring its attempts to strike up a deeply philosophical conversation about the meaning of barnacles and the fact that 42 is not a multiple of 8, thereby overthrowing the Adams' theory of life? ;)
