Thargoid invasion - Next target systems?

That is believable, yes; I cannot imagine any actual up-to-date 45–50 Ly empty Alert data exists against which it could be compared, but it is very plausibly the same as a normal Alert could be at that distance! As a minor analysis point which matters more so for inner systems, you discovered earlier that the progress was at least 0.003159 before the delivery, suggesting 282.6 strength.

You are suggesting that all Godhanded Oya Alerts are kinda "super easy" to get back and the PF message makes sense?

OK so we're on the Titan
(unless anyone believes we can clear 27 peripheral alerts, then a spire to get the other 10 to 85% then deliver collected and further research samples to clear the remaining 3 alerts plus 7 controls. All before Thursday)

Hi, not sure if this has been noted already . . . .
But I observed the following:

The titan got locked with the main heart vent out.
CMDRs waited for over 10 mins for the instance to reset - it did not.
In chat, CMDRs agreed to pull back to 15-20 kms from the Titan.
The result was almost instant, as soon as we pulled back the instance reset. You could hear the vents open.
Could be coincidence, not had cause to re-try since, but it seemed to work.

May be useful to know.

07 CMDRs

Yes - it does appear that whatever it is did go for systems in state None (with invisible cooldowns) rather than those in actual Recovery.
Well, it also went for Chernobo. Kind of forgot about that one but did see it. Also doesn’t change the fact much eother.

The one thing that does surprise me is that Cephei Sector ZZ-Y b3(… I think it’s the b3 system) is still untouched after existing for, getting to almost a year now is it?

Until further proven, it should also probably be assumed other Titans will similarly misbehave when the trigger for… whatever this attack is, and whatever that trigger itself is, is met.

Is the Tougeir sytem bugged? All FCs were booted out of it and is now an invalid destination.
EDIT: Ok checked and saw it went into thargoid alert.

Considering this point again regarding the Alert announcement for destroyed Titans, after having heard no such announcements at all before 3310:

That's certainly consistent and I'd be more inclined to believe it intentional on Frontier's part if the in-game message weren't telling CMDRs to do the least useful possible action this week of continuing to attack Oya's remaining Controls.

Insofar as we have had no opportunity to witness the correctness of the Alert announcement, I wonder now whether it is intended that both messages are wrong and we cannot trust either, nor indeed the comment about Titans needing to be much more vulnerable. Supposing that everything we see is true and everything we are told is false:
  • Alerts would not clear themselves if the Titan explodes, although we have seen that Control systems stop attacking, so the Titan strategy remains. A corollary is that leaving M. Leigong with three systems was a reasonable action.
  • No particular vulnerability is needed, only the damage we see we can achieve versus the damage we intend to achieve.
  • The time to destroy T. Oya is now, not "soon" as claimed, nor by being distracted with Alerts!

Speculation aside, I imagine it best to discover how the Titan fares against a more active time of the day, then review how much can be cleared if a second Titan week is needed—and if those clearing systems have not retired in response to this.

Just going to drop this one in here as well.

It’s just a shame the inner alerts are practically unclearable so people are going to go have to go for more rounds of control clearing with the support of the inner spire(unless Lyncis reactivates proper come the end of the week) for systems already cleared. But well, I guess, it should not be too surprising the Thargoids are actually pushing back.

Maybe. It will have to be seen if Oya gets cleared within this week or not.

The article is also typically uninformative in the Frontier way of whether this is a response to the loss of the spire(which could be very important for those Titans which remain and haven’t lost any/barely any… or still for Indra because it just planted so many to begin with), or the control count going down to single digits.

I think many people are also still waiting for the control combat rebalance.

Well... there we are. Think, primarily I'm just sad they only namechecked two out of how many freakin groups, squadrons and commanders who'd been working on this all month, who'd effectively solo'd entire weeks of this push, who held the line all year.

Well that was .... interesting, if a little difficult (not complaining - absolutely great game play BTW FDev!).

Swapped back to my Krait II Bomber at Oya, now, as I'll be at work from Saturday -
1st run got 400K (after 4 vents)
2nd run after repairs, got 0 as I didn't even reach the core (only 2 vents hit) as all hell let loose on me on way round, took lots of damage, had to escape and do repairs with AMFU,
3rd run after all repaired back to 100%, got +400K and took almost no damage but after core I was being pursued by something taking me apart, tried running but damage and caustic was killing me so just got out of Titan area and logged off.

So got 800K for this week (until Wednesday), so I take it that I need a few more runs to get the 2M weekly damage to get decals etc, if it is destroyed by Wednesday - is that correct? (won't be able to play after Friday until next Wednesday)

I do have trouble co-ordinating all modules - CSL's, HeatSinks, Boost, Targetting, Aiming and Firing at vents and core - need to get back in the rhythm without panicking!!!!

Great change after Titan salvage at both dead ones, but the Titans Thargoids do seem to be ultra aggressive (my Krait is running at 17 - 19%)

EDIT with the news of :

TITAN OYA DEPLOYS A SURPRISE FLEET OF ORTHRUS VESSELS

Will it just be better for EVERY SINGLE CMDR to go for Oya???????
Instead of more weeks of taking systems?

"If Oya can be prevented from reclaiming territory, then it’s likely that this third Titan will fall within mere weeks"
mere weeks. Yesterday, both options discussed felt like Oya wouldn't last the week
What's to say Oya can't do this more than once (or later on that other Titans can if Oya can't)

"We encourage all pilots to track and eliminate any Orthrus vessels found patrolling these star systems before the Thargoids can move their assault forces into these footholds"
I sampled Cephei Sector LC-V b2-5 earlier today to clear that alert.
Will try hunting in the next system to see if the value of de-Orthrusing has changed, or if it's fluff and harvesting samples still stands alone
