Thargoid invasion - Next target systems?

H i
is there any way around bugged instances? there was one today and it was open for at least an HR with an invisible interceptor flying around and no others spawning . I kept dropping out of it but the instance gods insisted on putting me back. the 2 commanders in there were happy just killing scouts which would have been fine.... but I could not get out of it. I sent a few messages asking them to drop to supercruise and reset the instance but no response.

eventually they did leave which fixed it but FD really should put this high up the list to fix because it's hard to avoid.

or am I being dumb?
on the bright side..... the passenger missions is great content for using my steamdeck in front of the telly.

Victory in HIP 20485, and some Commanders there appear to have visited HIP 20527 next-door and given it a fresh Alert progress point in celebration! Hyades Sector YZ-O b6-3 and Muruidooges are primed for daring Wednesday evening completions; we have easily more than enough time for both, but as usual the decider will be how early Commanders end their actions this cycle.

For the moment, by which I mean excepting any nigh-impossible surges, HIP 20492 and below will form the top target suggestions for the next cycle.

Top targets at 19:00 18th January 3309:
Hyades Sector YZ-O b6-3 Invasion + 1 port – 84%
Muruidooges Invasion + 4 ports – 82%

It depends what "type" of invisible interceptor it is.
If it's not moving and the warp portal is still visible, it hasn't spawned in properly. This one usually kills the instances, you can't do much about it and it prevents other interceptors appearing / stops the CZ progress bar from filling up completely (no matter how many scouts are killed).
If it is moving around and you can hear its engines and possibly shooting at other ships, there will be at least some people in the instance that can see it. You can either wait for them to kill it, or cycling out and back in should make it visible to you.

I think it would be unbalanced if the monetary value was considered.

Until there's some evidence to suggest that value is a factor we don't think it matters, just the tonnage and being in high demand.

If monetary value isn't considered then that can possibly be exploited too - the important thing is to figure out if any cargo can be significantly more efficient over others. Unfortunately the war contribution for cargo seems very low overall so it's harder to test in isolation.

So I'm in Hyades Sector YZ-O b6-3, doing a CZ alone to fill up some Scout missions. I finish and return to De Sousa to rearm. Weirdly there's no one in the instance. I'm almost out of ammo and fuel, and at 50% hull. I know I don't have the juice in me to start a new CZ for the evening so I decline the join invitation in the comms window. The NPC mocks me with the "stay out of our way" line (what does she know, right?). Anyway, when I request docking, I notice the anonymous tag, and afterwards I see that I have been slapped with a 10k bounty by the Brazilian League. What gives? Is this normal or am I experiencing a weird bug?

So now not only do I have to make it out of the warzone on fumes, I also have to find an interstellar factor just to be able to buy bullets.

You could also block one of the commanders in the instance, leave and return avoiding them and that instance, then unblock the commander, ballache but works.

Is this the only trick we have to control instance generation?

Sometimes I miss the gamey days of Path of Exile, where you could just create a new instance by CTRL-Clicking on the area...

No evidence exists for one type of cargo being better than any other. The requirements are goods in high demand or wanted by delivery missions. If you find out certain goods work better than others let us know, but I doubt it.

Victories in Hyades Sector YZ-O b6-3 and Muruidooges!

HIP 20492 (76%) is actually persisting to the point that I cannot claim truthfully that it would be impossible to grab it in the next five hours, but realistically I think we are done for this cycle. That has been eleven systems total; ten Invasion defences and one Control eviction. Everyone has done quite well!

The list is updated now, though I will check again shortly before the cycle and use that to establish the suggested targets. HIP 20492 deserves rewarding with a completion if Commanders opt not to sprint 24% so close to the cycle, followed by Jementi, Col 285 Sector AF-E b13-5, HIP 22496, then Neites entering its first Invasion week. If you are keen to start somewhere on Thursday then the aforementioned are the systems which others have signaled that they wish to save!

You must have accidentally shot an NPC who subsequently died, earning you a 10k bounty for murder.
You're right, I was too tired last night to even think about checking the player journal...

Anyway, good job on the cycle....

Welp looks like I need to move my fleet carrier, the Malstrom system I was in everything is lost. Think I'm heading towards HP 1403 looks like a good place to park my carrier, with a few systems around that still have active stations that need help defending.

The first strikes this cycle are again all systems which saw attention on the last, many of which were high on the list of those remaining, which is great to see. Neites is up first, the defence of which will actually halt the Thargoid advance from M. Hadad as far as inhabited systems are concerned, for most Alerts there are in the direction of the Coalsack. Col 285 Sector AF-E b13-5 is progressing along with it up by M. Cocijo, and I imagine the nearby system Chibis will garner interest soon enough.

A few of the more well-favoured systems last cycle are relatively silent thus far, especially Jementi and HIP 22496. For those at M. Taranis, I have a feeling that one may wish to keep an eye on HIP 23716 over the next few cycles—it has been invaded again, and at some point I imagine it will see another show of unity under Wakata Station.

Note that we have a Community Goal aimed at supplying Experimental Weapon Stabiliser modules, which will be quite good for heavier starships. If I combine the snippets I have skim-read thus far, it looks to be a class 3 internal module which raises the Experimental limit to five, and a class 5 module which raises it to six.

Can any of the Thargiod war experts help me understand (in simple terms) what's wanted within the difference states of the systems. IE Invasion, control and alert.

As with everyone, I've been doing my part but if there is anything that makes a difference with the bars please let us know so l don't waste my time.

My understanding so far is;

Invasion - Combat and evacuation is the best for completing the goal.

What I don't know is what's best for ;

Control - unknown
Alert - unknown

Thanks in advance.

Controlled systems are abandoned by humans so there is only one available action: killing thargoids.

For Alert systems it depends if they're inhabited or uninhabited.
Uninhabited is the same as control systems: the only available action is to kill thargoids. But it's miserable attempting it because there are barely any thargoids to find in them.
For inhabited systems in alert state, focus on supply/evac missions. There is also the option for killing thargoids but as mentioned above they are so rare it's not worth bothering with them.

That reminds me—the information there is due an update regarding what cargo to deliver (high market demand items or via missions), the benefit of combining different actions, and a reminder that knowledge is developing and tests are ongoing.

Delivery actions were good for inhabited Alert systems, around three times better than evacuations, although some supplementary evacuation was reported to be quite good. I imagine this is a large part of why Invasion systems are quite popular, where a single cargo starship can cover both egress of escape pods and ingress of demanded supplies.

A curious question from me; has there been any known quantitative study of Alert progress purely via Orthrus kills? Those are very easy with a good heavy starship and some EAX Missiles, though it might be interesting to discover a number of kills which causes a 2% increment, and by the same means derive a measurement of Threat 4 non-human signals per time. An additional parameter there is the typical signal distance, usually which depends on the system contents and their distances.
