Thargoid invasion - Next target systems?

Hey, what's this I hear about people all running off from ground based AXCZ because a hydra appears?
damn right I do. I have only ever seen them however in bugged instances, or instances with 1 other player who isn't engaging them either or on my own. 3 times I tried to solo one and I got bashed up quickly without even opening up a heart so I am not trying again without others

Victories in HIP 20899 and Garongxians! Very well done during the day; I had expected the latter to require some finishing up this evening. HIP 22496 joins the fight!

@Virkful should be tentatively pleased to know that Jeng should be possible comfortably by pure time and at least narrowly for a typical Wednesday. As is also customary for a typical Wednesday, by all means try for it but remember not to expect it. Either way, we have our top suggested targets for the next cycle!

Top targets at 18:50 1st February 3309:
Jeng Invasion 78% — Oya 23 Ly, 1 port, 1587 Ls outpost attack, 2194 Ls outpost damage

Unlikely, though who can say for sure, given what Commanders achieved in under 12 hours...
Pathamon Invasion 68% — Leigong 22 Ly, 5 ports, 104 Ls planet + 2695 Ls outpost attack
Desurinbin Invasion 60% — Cocijo 25 Ly, 7 ports, 455k Ls planet + 456k Ls planet attack
Elboongzi Invasion 54% — Oya 27 Ly, 3 ports, 907 Ls outpost attack
HIP 20605 Control 46% — Indra 26 Ly, empty
Col 285 Sector TS-Z b14-3 Control 44% — Hadad 22 Ly, empty

For what it is worth, it can pay well to announce a Hydra in the System chat if the system already has much attention. That said, indeed there is little sense in attacking it alone even if you have enough premium ammunition and are prepared for the endurance trial, for it is simply not a good time investment. The same is true if waiting too long to form a Wing.

I had an OK time soloing hydras with 6x salvation shards (no premium ammo needed) and repairing between almost every heart to be safe. It's a bit annoying if they run away to get some altitude after spawn camping you when you land, but it's not a huge time loss compared to when people kite it out of range of the station entirely. Took me about an hour to clear 2 hydras solo that way, but I'll get better at it.

Indeed, I was just preparing a note for next cycle regarding the "upcoming" class 5 Stabiliser, but Azimuth Biotech seems to have released it already! Consider my previous statement to be appended with "...that is, until now...".

And I just arrived in Jeng, engaged several big ones, got power knocked out before I could make any kills, ship destroyed and then I'm in the outpost looking at the chat board congratulating everyone that Jeng is now finished and recovery begins in less than a day.

Horray. :)

Victory in Jeng! List is updated, mostly so that I can compare it with around 06:30 and smile at the things Commanders do in the moments just before the reset.

Pathamon is technically possible in just over five hours, though much too unlikely for me to recommend it. It will become the top suggestion, and given its present port state it seems to me that it will have a damaged planetary port at 100 Ls from arrival, such that running the critically-wounded escape pod evacuations should be a very good way to help complete it quite quickly next cycle.

If you really want somewhere to stack completed missions for turn-in next cycle:
Pathamon Invasion 78% — Leigong 22 Ly, 5 ports, 104 Ls planet + 2695 Ls outpost attack

I saw your arrival, and that was likely me!

Yep, that's the post I saw as my eyes opened up from the re-buy screen. :D

Left my carrier in Imeut to give me a platform to fight from, but apparently being invaded shoved it to a system 150 light years away, which is a pity. I hoped it would stay there after fighting an invasion in a system with a couple of carriers still in it a couple of weeks ago.

They do that to protect the carrier but you SHOULD be given the option of "are you sure you want to position your carrier in a war zone?"

I thought that was the case, but having been in an invasion system a couple of weeks ago which still had two carriers in it, was wondering if perhaps leaving it there would work. I guess they were just a bug.

We have a modest start; most of the previous top targets have returned with Pathamon and Putas ahead, H Puppis returns from lower down the list, and HIP 26688 joins the fight!

It will be important to observe progress this evening before judging, though at present I suspect that both the Control and the Invasion requirements were increased on Monday–Tuesday. Note that Control systems should now have Conflict Zones if they border space with Human systems (for some such definition of bordering), which will be quite helpful for meeting other Commanders in those empty systems with no Navigation markers.

Top targets at 19:10 2nd February 3309:
Pathamon Invasion 6% — Leigong 22 Ly, 3 ports, 193 Ls planet + 193 Ls outpost attack, 104 Ls planet + 2695 Ls outpost damage

Huile Invasion 4% — Oya 30 Ly, 1 port, 1543 Ls starport attack, 3853 Ls planet damage

Seems something weird is going on at Roggeveen Installation in Ebisu. I've dropped in at the planetary port a few times, but nothing seems to be happening there. It's on fire, but there's no CZ and no ships flying around it.
