Thargoid invasion - Next target systems?

We tried (Air1) sampling a Cocjijo Control (5.08 Ly from Titan) using latest "parking" data we had from the same thing we did on Raijin, but we missed the Target.

We delivered 5531 Scout Tissue Samples at the Rescue Ship, with WarProgress starting from 0.1355 % and reaching 72.1858 %, so the stimated STR is 7677 (for a 5.08 Ly from Titan system).

If you want to help to close it, the system is: Col 285 Sector XY-F b12-2

Many thanks for reporting a strength change! Indeed from update 18.07 we had that strength estimate a little higher at 5697, but still very far from 7677—unfortunately that happens occasionally without much warning or reason.

I was thinking to secure the systems which the wonderful Operation Thunderstruck has boosted around M. Raijin, but perhaps a strength increase means we should favour Spire sites there instead. If you would like Col 285 Sector XY-F b12-2 completed, I think we could finish it later this evening then jump the Carrier probably towards Pegasi Sector NN-S b4-7.

If anyone targets or resumes activity at Col 285 Sector XY-F b12-2, please say so to avoid overlap!

So far this week Operation Thunderstruck has gotten quite a few pods delivered, totalling in 9131 pods. And since pods count for ALL Counter-Strike systems now that should have hopefully had some impact.
How would we calculate how many pods would be needed to complete a specific percentage of all Counter-Strike systems? Ie 10% for all systems. Was going to try and get a estimate so we have a goal to shoot towards each week.

Good question!

9131 seems to have caused 22–24% across systems from 17.8 Ly to 26.6 Ly, plus some more farther out which have other progress. Interestingly there are some gaps by distance, although that will be because Counterstrikes have a direction aspect to them.

As best we know, I have to presume it is still 7 Bio-storage per 1 Scout sample—the critical point being that presumably it is still a fixed progress amount rather than a percentage, so the equivalent percentage will depend on the Titan distance. Around that ~20 Ly distance range, if we call it 23% then that suggests 397 Bio-storage per point, or 3970 for 10%.

If it helps to know, a good target actually is 15%, for then those systems could be completed purely via Spire sites!

Perfect! Thank you so much for the explanation! So the new goal is 15-20% a week to help with the Spire Site Systems. That's 5,955 pods for 15% using your math. But obviously, the amount will increase the closer we get to the Titan.
With how many people we have now participating we can easily get at least 3k pods a week. I'll be sure to post updates every Thursday/ Friday when we turn them all in :)

Hi I delivered 1222 pods for Raijin to Cornsar last night, sorry if that messes up the maths

Sold our remaining 565 sample. On your Squadrons CMDRs! o7

Thank you for the extra progress boost! We are in session and now on our final harvest round, so the Col 285 Sector XY-F b12-2 space for Carriers should be done by 21:00, or the soonest Galaxy map update after that. Operation park-and-ride continues!

No worries thank you for letting me know! The more pods delivered the more progress so it helps :)

It changes the totals a bit! The original 9131 becomes 10353, so the Bio-storage per point is more like 450 at that range, or 6750 for 15%.

Sorry to keep mucking up the math but I got another update on pods! Including Blaggerdy and the rest of Operation Thunderstruck, happy to report 12778 pods delivered just this week for Raijin (at least that I have tallied).
I've been keeping track of this in the spreadsheet. I specifically made the War Progress tab to tally each Week/Cycle in a nice-to-read format. I am happy to add any other useful info that you guys might need, feel free to reach out!

Still around 450 per point, I think! The previous correction was due to a delivery which happened before reading the system progress, but the increase to 12778 seems to have happened after that. There looks now to be around 29% Titan rescue progress at 20 Ly suggesting 440 per point, which could be closer to 450 easily given the extra time for unaccounted deliveries to have occurred alongside it.

It will be for you to decide when is best to start stockpiling for next week; the efficacy this week will drop gradually due to systems being completed, and either way there will be also some minimum time needed to reach the amount you want for the next Thursday delivery. Either of those conditions alone are enough to choose the storage option!

I'll tell everyone to probably start stockpiling for next week since to do about 20% that's 9000 pods.
So at 20ly pods = ~450 points and I assume that the closer to the titan the fewer 'points' it will be worth?
Would this also mean pods are now a little more than 0.002 'War Progress' (that's 1/7 of a sample's 'War Progress') since before 0.002 * 12778 = 25.5%? Unless someone unaccounted for turned 4.5% of pods (that's around 2250 pods).
Apologies for asking so many questions!

With point I meant 1%—that is to say, 450 Bio-storage per 1% at that range!

Correct! Since update 18.06 the strength curve has become very shallow at least, although its effects were visible immediately after your first delivery this week, with a few of the affected systems trailing by one 2% progress marker on the Galaxy map.

This part I do not understand, unfortunately!

As it happens, the observations from your Bio-storage deliveries alongside the Research result earlier from Air One suggest together that one Research sample probably still matches seven Bio-storage¹, in the context of one system of course². That said, there is not much need to link the two—you knew the amount delivered³, we could see the result, and that alone can be used for estimations.

1. A system close to 5 Ly from T. Cocijo needed 7677 Research, an increase from before. With Bio-storage around 450 per 1% at 20 Ly, 45000 for completion would correspond to 45000/7 = 6429 Research, a very believable amount.
2. Obviously the purpose of the Bio-storage is that the progress is duplicated to a few dozen systems!
3. Or close enough—it is similar with testing Research, knowing always that Commanders could have progressed the test system at the same time.

If I visit each of these systems right now, enter the first AX Combat zone, kill a scout or two to receive a voucher (meaning the server registered I was there and contributed a bit) and then instantly leave to the next system to rinse and repeat, will I eventually receive the smallest material reward for each system visited after the Titan goes boom / system get liberated?

Thank you. Not looking for the most efficient way, but for something interesting / new. Kinda liked the idea, only need a confirmation if it will work.
Can confirm this works, I joined in the invasion fight back at Balak last Thurs/Friday, after it was complete I flew back to the system where I had left my taxi via maybe 10 other controlled systems, each time either dropping in to an NHSS4 or getting interdicted and then killing all four scouts. I've already received a couple of rewards for helping in systems from this, which partly makes up for the drop in the rewards on the kill cyclops missions :)

I think that FD simply does “as it should” and nothing depends on the players (or only slightly depends), this is an illusion.
p.s. I believe they already have a script whether we do it or not. "The Show Must Go On", because we were already supposed to lose, but FD intervened

They've very likely got something planned to speed up the remaining two Titans if they want this show to be over and done with by the time that Powerplay 2 arrives, because even if the pace remains at 30-ish controls a week for Raijin(and this one will definitely get to 30 or higher for it), it will be right at the end of September or early October for it to be vulnerable. And, well, Cocijo is another matter entirely again.

yes, but this is not a war, this is a “show”, this is a problem, i.e. we do not influence anything (or very little), we are part of the script.
