I chucked some prospectors onto a couple. They just had standard minerals.
So interestingly, I think there's a few, err, assumptions going around about what triggers the big blue field. I've heard it's when you've destroyed all the turrets, or destroyed a bunch of hunters etc etc... but my experiences in it triggering have been less... violent.
Just now I pottered around the titan (incidentally, at 32% heat, which didn't seem to make it angry at all), and my only interactions were to shoot off a couple mats (which did anger it).... I fled eventually, but even that interaction triggered the big blue cage thing... I think some more investigation is needed.
