Thargoids will be in the initial release

It wouldn't surprise me if we could find some hints perhaps.

Check this picture from another thread, could they be here? But again it's a permit locked system so we wouldn't be able to see (what about the surrounding stars?).

What thread is that in? Interesting. I remember DB also saying we'd find areas they'd locked off for future stuff - this appears to be one of them - so if we can't go there its unlikely the non celestial stuff is there - unless he's winding us up.

Thargoids are in the initial release, but only as encounters, we'll be doing something far more with them in a future release.

Michael

Has anyone ever had a random encounter with a Thargoid? I figured someone would have already posted a video online or a forum post about it by now.

That comment was from way back during the Kickstarter before production even began...obviously they didn't make it in. But they're coming...

Doesn't bother me to much since I think it's a good thing that we first get to create attachments to the gameworld, something that will become even more prominent in Powerplay next month. Then, while we are in the midst of some major conflict between factions the Thargoids could make their return and bring everything up another notch!

Lol I saw it said the 27th and I assumed it was today. Didn't even look at the year...

I'm thinking they will look like shadows from babylon 5.

I dont see how anyone can definitely say the Thargoids arent already in the game somewhere unless they are on the dev team. And nobody from the devs has officially said they arent actually in the game yet. So IMO they ARE almost certainly in already in some form. Its just a matter of finding them/it.

I suspect the alien artifacts will eventually lead to something somewhere .... but it could be in a permit locked system at the moment or a system that is impossible to get to with present game technology ..... it wont be a live Thargoid though, but it will be something Thargoid. It will be a drawn out plot though, leading to the eventual reappearance of the Thargoid properly. But I bet we are at least a year or more from that happening yet. But I bet any money we will find something out within the next six months in the game that points to them somehow.

Let's be honest, if it was an object in a system, 5000 LY's North West of Sol, nowhere near a celestial object, that can only be detected from <500ls, it would remain undiscovered for a long, long time.

DB was asked specifically at the launch party if the the Thargoids made the cut for launch, sadly he said no. So if they were added at 1.2, no one is safe!

Sorry, how am I supposed to hold the galaxy map to see this in game? I'm not seeing a trail leading away like this, and it goes against everything we know about the milky. Or is this not to scale?

There's me getting all excited reading through the first two pages and then I spot the date. 2013...... Feel so abused right now
