The "Can I Run Planet Coaster" thread

I have a Lenovo P50 laptop with the following specs:
Intel Core i7-6700HQ
Nvidia Quadro m1000m 2gb
16gb ram
256gb ssd + 512 gb hdd.

Do you know if this GPU can handle this game? I could not find much about it online.

I already tried that, but I do not really trust their judgement, because if I try this website for other games like euro truck simulator (a game that runs my laptop runs on high/ultra settings) I get this as a result.

Oh yeah, and I can't overclock the CPU

Hi I have located a site that you can check all GPU's that run Planet coaster, as for your reply on your GPU it states you will be able to run Planet Coaster.

Here is the link.

Hi all!

Just waiting patiently to play the game, but i`m worried about something. I`ve run the test on Can You Run It, and I meet the minimum requirements.

I don`t meet the recommended requirements, which are the following for my system:

VIDEO CARD

Recommended: nVidia GTX 980 (4GB)/AMD R9 380 (4GB)
You Have: AMD Radeon HD 7900 Series

Required You Have
Pixel Shader version 5.1 5.0
Vertex Shader version 5.1 5.0
Dedicated Video RAM 4 GB 3.0 GB

CPU

Recommended: Intel i7-4770/AMD FX-8350

You Have: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4670K CPU @ 3.40GHz

CPU Speed
Recommended: Info
You Have: 3.4 GHz

RAM
Recommended: 12 GB
You Have: 8.0 GB

OS
Recommended: Windows 7 (SP1+)/8.1/10 64bit
You Have: Microsoft Windows 8.1 (build 9600), 64-bit

Free Disk Space

Recommended: 8 GB
You Have: 1.3 TB

My question: Will the game run with some minor lags or should I expect problems with my system? I don`t need a FPS of 40 tbh.

Many thanks!

Hi guys! :) I need your help because i'm looking for a new graphic card but i will only play via VGA at 1440 X 900 resolution (DVI-l -> VGA Adapter)
I have:
Intel i-7 3770K @ 3,50 ghz (max 3,90 ghz)
16 gb RAM

I really like the SAPPHIRE NITRO Radeon™ R9 380X 4G D5 but i'm not sure if the nvidia gtx 9xx generation is better? Since i won't play in fullHd or 4k i'm not sure which one i should choose to have the maximum power? Any recommondations? :)

Thank you in advance!

I only got one opinion so can I get some others?

Target is 1600p(2560 x 1600) 30fps locked

i5 6500 3.2ghz (cannot overclock, will this be a problem at 1440/1600p?)
8GB RAM
GTX 1070

Hi coasterfan you have pretty much the same as me. I run this game on high settings with 50fps. When I get to about 3000 guests I throttle back to about 25-28fps. It's still playable.

I have i7 3770K 3.5 (3.9 turbo)
16gb ram
Samsung pro SSD

I had a Gtx 680 had major lag issues now I have a Gtx asus strix 980ti oc'd.

I found no difference in FPS I was still lagging at 18-25fps.

Since alpha 3 came out its been utilised a little better now. More tweeks to come!

I would wait till the beta see how it runs on the system you have first before you spend any money!

The game is CPU intensive not gpu.

Save a dollar till you know what the beta has to offer.

If anything you and I would want a faster CPU but no point the 3770K is still a fast and good CPU still loads of life left in it! Maybe 2-4 years future proof.

Hope this helps

The bear

I hoped so but can i run it said that I didn't even have the minimum requirements with my video card, but still every part of my video cart seems to be up to their standards, they also ask an upgrade of the CPU, but I also don't understand why.
Will the game be very slow or something because of this?

Boreal

The game is CPU intensive not GPU.

A lot of people have found 99% CPU usage and no gpu usage utilisation.

The problem with laptops is that they are slow and upgrading them can be very difficult.

Your CPU is Quad core and is only a year old. It's actually a little faster than mine.

Look at this link to see yours vs mine

http://cpuboss.com/cpus/Intel-Core-i7-4720HQ-vs-Intel-Core-i7-3770K

The game still has some tweeks to it that the devs are doing so it should be smoother when it gets released.

I would personally look at maybe waiting for the game to be released see what people say about the FPS see what they are using then either think about an upgrade, new PC or playing it on your laptop.

Your laptop should be fine. The recommended and minimum websites are playing it safe.

Thanks a lot bear! Yes that helped me a lot. I actually have 3 cards left now who are suitable for me:
Radeon R9 380X
Nvidia GeForce 980
NVidia GeForce 980ti

So since the geforce 980 and r9 380x are almost on the same level i'll see if i can get the 980ti, a higher card won't be suitable for me because they don't support DVI-I (analog and digital).

It also depends on your budget too.

The 980ti is still nearly £600

You would be better off with the ti than the 980 but the choice is yours and your budget.

I have a few games that my 680 was suffering on but since I got the 980ti I have been seriously impressed with the FPS on games like city skylines and ksp.

With planet coaster it's all about the CPU.

I hope you this all helps in your quest.

The game will likely run fine on your system. Even high end computers get a lower fps when playing with large parks in Planet Coaster. If you really want to know how the game runs before making a final decision, then I recommend that you wait for the beta which starts November 9th. The beta will include a lot of optimisations which will likely improve the fps of the game. You can play with the Planet Coaster beta if you have bought the Thrillseeker Edition.

do i take it that the more you put in your park...the worse thfps will get?...if so then why would you ever build a big park?....you could have a massive area to build in and its not worth it.

That is correct for the Alpha 3 version of Planet Coaster. We will soon see how much impact large parks have on the fps in the beta version of the game.

Since you're playing at a lower resolution, a 980 ti would be completely overkill in any game, especially a CPU intensive one like Planet Coaster. The absolute highest end card you should get at that resolution is an RX 470. Not sure why you're looking at last gen cards too, unless you've found great deals on them.
