The "Can I Run Planet Coaster" thread

Allo!
I was thinking about buying a new computer, and was wondering if this HP desktop's specs would meet the Planet coaster requirements...

HP Pavilion Desktop - 570-p054na (Z7D30EA)
Windows 10
Processor: Intel® Core™ i5-7400 (3 GHz, up to 3.5 GHz with Intel® Turbo Boost Technology, 6 MB cache, 4 cores)
Memory: 8 GB DDR4-2400 SDRAM (1 x 8 GB)
Internal drive: 2 TB 5400 rpm SATA
Graphics: Discrete AMD Radeon™ R5 435 (2 GB GDDR5 dedicated)

Been trying to work it out for a while, but all the compare sites say the graphics card isn't out yet (which is a lie).

Thanks very much anyone who can help!

can i good run the game with my requirements with nice settings?

Windows 7 sp1+
Intel i7-2600K
16 GB RAM
i have now nVidia GTX 550ti (but probably i cant run the game good with that,
so i wanna buy this nVidia GTX 1060 (3GB)

Hey Varlano,

Your CPU is very good and even with your 550TI you can probably run the game on low settings. The 1060 is a great card, but I 'd suggest to look a the version with more memory. 3 GB isn't enough to run most modern games at higher settings.

Hey Bbrit,

Unfortunately that graphics card is going to struggle with Planet Coaster. Have you considered building your own computer? Often building your own will be cheaper so you could get some better hardware for your money. [happy]

Well i'm not a full gamer on pc i play mostly little games and they dont need realy much requirements , i just wanna play for now only that planet coaster and elite dangerous , thats all because i'm a ps4 gamer :) and the 6GB of that 1060 is alot more money to. i dont gonna spend realy much money for 1 or 2 games.

I can confirm most likely based on your specs that you can run the game smoothly on low graphic settings.. Will still not look bad. You may run into lag if you have parks with tons of people, especially if you are on 3x speed.

Thanks very much Chems :) Yer, I was thinking about building one too... slightly scary prospect, but think it's possible. Will have a go...

No problem! Building a PC for the first time can be scary, but there is so much information to be found through the power of the internet, building a PC will be even easier than building with Lego! [haha] I'd suggest watching some youtube videos of people building PCs and you will see how simple it actually is.

I have a very low spec pc and I've managed to complete Carrer mode just have 4 stars left to get it just realised today that my crossfire has not been making a jot of diffrence as sli/crossfire is not supported so I'm running the game on 8gb of memory and phenom x4 855 and amd hd 7700 1gb nothing over clocked apart from the hd 7700 as it the ghost oc version so running at 1100hz I'm maxing the cpu but grafix card is running at around 87% ...

Question: Not sure if this has been answered before...Other than FPS issues, is there a limit on how much stuff (with no guests in the park) before your system just say "no way" and will not load the park? SO if I have a full size map and add a bunch of rides and scenery, will I eventually have an issue to be concerned with?

Well, your machine could always crash but it should not damage it in anyway.

And when it crashes this can also be linked to having the settings set to high.

Of course. Every object you place requires a certain number of calculations and memory, where a simple box would require only a few calculations and a small amount of memory, a coaster needs a lot more. So the more objects you place, the more you computer needs to calculate and store in its memory and the slower it gets.

I not as worried about being slow...I'm more concerned that all of a sudden I can't even open the park because it to overloaded?
.

Oh. Well, as I mentioned in my previous comment the more you add the slower the game gets so it won't be very likely the game would suddenly go from playable to not being able to load anymore. [tongue]

You should be able to run the game no problem. The game can be very demanding though, so I suggest, when you get the game, to download some different sized parks from the workshop and see how well they'll run. If you stay under 2 hours of play time you can always refund the game if the performance is not to your liking.

I would say from whats been said on here and else where their is not really much more you can do to get a better running game unless you go down the Ryzen road .. atm i would and am waitning to see how and if the game core gets optimaised as it seems that giving the game more power dosent make it work much better

Hello guys,
