The Deep Space Support Array (DSSA) | A FleetComm Initiative

I know Galactic Centre is listed as infrastructure already in place, but I think a case could be made for having a FC high and low as well. High systems and low systems draw some traffic because of the incredible view. Systems that are not easily reached, or reachable at all with even a kitted for range ship. Having a FC up there, it would give ships a place they could store modules to lighten up for a final few jumps, the FC could be used as a ferry on a regular time table to take people to the otherwise unreachable systems.

I would love to volunteer my carrier Orville for the High Galactic Centre.

Sure thing, oversight on my part. Please provid Cmdr name and platform :)

A competition to select potential sites of interest would be fun, I've got a few candidates. However, possibly we'll have to wait until tritium hotspots are identified before settling on FC locations. Although, that might not be necessary if they're not going to move!

Celestial Light Brigade (Xbox squadron) volunteers my personal fleet carrier for Odin's hold below plane (or Norma arm below plane). Our faction has a substantial interest in the Voqooe sector split between Odin's Hold and Norma Arm and already intends to park a carrier there for our own explorers and hopefully future colonization efforts(we've already scouted 300 ELWs in the region). At this point we have a few good systems that would be ideal based on that database of 300 ELWs, but that could certainly be subject to change.

I love the idea! (y)

Until I learned that there would be no Universal Cartographics, I was actually thinking about picking up the pace to get to Colonia by June, so I could put a little outpost of Civilization by the Trifid Nebula. For now, I'll just continue to make my leisurely way towards Colonia, hopefully getting there in time for the New Era.

If any fleet carrier happens to be traveling from Colonia in the general direction of Beagle's Point, I'm willing to do the unthinkable: actually mine for a bit to help them on their way. ;) Either way, I'll be keeping an eye out.

The DSSA Distant Worlds carrier will heading for the Abyss in June, any help with either Tritium transport or mining ops, will be appreciated (y) ;)

The carrier will most likely be purchased from Colonia as it'll knock about 20,000 LYs off its journey.

This sounds like an awesome project. I'd like to volunteer. I'll leave it to fleet management to decide where the carrier should be placed. - Cmdr Mercillus - PC.

Well we're pretty much covered region-wise, so it's up to you, really! There are a few spots left up/down the plane in the Core, but some immense regions could do with a second rest stop.

I'm good with whichever. If you have an up or down spot in Ryker's Hope that would be awesome. It would give me a chance to go through Sag A (I've never been). - Cmdr Mercillus

I have been caught out by the lower payouts in mining currently - so I think I should withdraw from this initiative for now. You already have another PC volunteer for the Hieronymus Delta anyway - I can provide additional cover elsewhere when funds permit. Sorry for any inconvenience.

For whoever ends up volunteering for stationing their carrier in the Messier 67 (Cancri Cluster as listed on your list), my expedition Celebration of Early Astronomy 2 is planning on hauling some carriers up there as quickly as possible when they are released, and are planning on having people mining/cargo running to help us get there quickly. We would also be willing to help out DSSA with getting whoever's carrier up there too.

My expedition also continues for about 8 weeks afterwards, and based on current information I'd be just leaving my carrier there at least for that duration in case you don't have a permanent person by that time.

I'm happy to volunteer, although I have some rather specific locations in mind (in order of preference):
1. Masefield's Ocean (inside Formorian Frontier I guess)
2. Segnao Starburst (inside Inner Orion-Perseus Conflux)
3. Ishtar (inside the Conduit)
4. Cygni X-3 (inside Errant Marches)

How's that?

Fly safe!
Andrew
