THE FORMIDINE RIFT MYSTERY (Part 4)

Guys, do you think there is anything left to find out there? I'm heading out along the Orion arm with Silly Ships 2, and considering a detour backwards via Hawkin(g)'s Gap.

Eh Jorki... you do know this game is set in space right?

Of course. It's only the ship's environmental control system that prevents the pilot from turning into a leather clad cornetto at near -273Celsius. So anything that stops that working is going to chill things down pretty quick. But there's no EMP blast in these events so I'm hypothesising its the flowership drive system that's the root cause here. ;)

I'm currently out that way myself, however I find myself stuck within the NGC 3199 Nebula due to limited jump range. I may have to double back to Eta Carina, hop back onto the Orion Spur and attempt to cross Hawkins Gap

I am rocking a de-luxe Beluga with a useless 40t 6-class luxury cabin and 4A scoop for the sake of insanity, with 30.5ly jumprange. :)

Anyway, wasn't there some ideas that a megaship could be there and in Conflux? That would give me motivation to go that way, however unlikely it is to actually find it.

So Salomé was killed by an exploiter. Every module on the ship that killed her was modified to gold roll level, using the engineer exploit. HP would probably not succeeded without these mods.

I feel sorry for Drew now.

I don't think that's known. It's one person's assertion. I saw some of Harry's responses in the various threads and they read more like somebody who's equally frustrated at the cheating than somebody who's acting frustrated to cover their tracks. . Clearly that can be a difficult thing to discern in a forum post but it's entirely possible through effort to achieve the level of results he obtained.

FDEV has access to more data and can likely make a fairly good statistical determination so I'm inclined to take a wait and see approach rather than condemn him due to some unrelated sense of his character.

meanwhile, back on topic: has anyone figured out which corporations are responsible for all the abandoned sites dotted around the outer rim of the bubble? The abandoned research centers, mining outposts, maybe some clues we missed at the dynasty outposts?

edited... She probably still would have died anyway. As I recall, her ship wasn't in the best of health when HP issued his version of avada kedavra.

While I would have gone full: "It puts the lotion on its skin" in the portrayal of HP, if Drew uses Harry's own character brief, I can't imagine he could let go unnoticed the matter of the target having been presoftened by the very same dirty pirates held up as an excuse for becoming a bounty hunter. :7

I know Dav's Hope which is an abandoned mine were miners died in, is owned by Sirius Corp!!!

Maybe not the most exciting thing, but I took a trek out to zeus system and had a look about that megaship, the midas, first thing to strike me was it was effeminately visually similar to the zurara, so much so I wonder if they are part of the same purchase order?

Yep, there was a cave in and the trapped men were just abandoned because the cost of a rescue was too much. (It's a good materials pickup spot)

Did anyone ever find this mine on the planet? I remember there were a few of us who for days searched that planet and couldn't find the mine, just the settlement and that amazingly high mountain.

I think the mine exists in the game only as a line of text. Truly doubt that there is actually something to be found.

But, there are some very interesting non-persistent POIs there. Ive described them in some post somewhere into this forum. Maybe will search...

It would be a nice story if they found something deep underground, so they have to be buried alive not to tell...

Hey guys,

Don't know if this is the right place to ask but if you could help me out that would be fantastic.

I'm making my way over to the Zurara to check it out and was wondering if you folk happen to know the best way to get there. Currently, I'm sitting on the cusp of the Formidine Rift (PHOI AESCS CB-F D11-2 to be precise, about 1.5klys out) in a 56ly Anaconda and have noticed that my route plotter can't plot due to stars being bigger distances away. Is there a way around/through this empty region of space and through to Syreadiae JX-F CO? Just curious how you all managed to get through/around it without getting stuck.

Many, many thanks,

A Keen Explorer
