Okay folks ... I just realized that I should make an "FAQ" video. Dave1029's recent question asking if we are looking in the right place is evidence that the thread has gotten too long. People new to the discussion just don't have the patience to read the whole thread, apparently. Dave apparently gave up after page 89 of this thread ... Just a dozen pages from where Drew answered his question.
... So, can I get some help? Ideally I'd like the video to come in at under 12 minutes. More than 12 and people shut down.
Can you guys suggest a list of frequently rehashed questions and objections that I could address? I think answering the most often repeatedly asked questions in a short video might be useful. Thoughts?

Others have already answered. However, as far as reading the forum is concerned, go by post # , not by page # , as your post-per-page setting might not be the same as others (I have mine set too 100 posts per page for example).

Yup. That's why I put it together. It seems that Acheron is AWOL right now. CMDR Zach previously suggested to me I create a new Formidine Rift thread using an edited version of my journal for the OP. What do you guys think?
I'd be happy to work with 1 or 2 others to pull something together

And I'm currently keeping update the Spanish Formidine Rift thread with most relevant info from here (in order to help Spanish players that don't understand English). But if you want me to do something, just let me know

Rift Map v.4
With a little help from Belthize, Rift Map v.4, greatly improved in accuracy using EDD's grids. /!\ Download the file, it's too large to be legible here.
Also added the crossing I did today and the Eastern side of the 'Ketchup', the 'Barbara Hop'. A few half-tank jumps, a few Jump-o 1 jumps according to your jump range (my empty jr is 36.13) ; the longest jump is 38.10ly. Jump mats can be gathered all along the way (added HMC presence on EDD) ; if you come from the New Outer Arm, Basecamp 2 has lots of HMCs.
Will update to EDD 3D Map as soon as Finwen is available.

I can't rep you, but I have fixed the transformation so if you put this in your maps folder and restart edd it should be there

Thanks for the update. The thread has just gotten so long I couldn't read anymore. It was almost becoming a book on its own. Loved it though... As it gave me enough reading content to go a whopping 13.5K LY. Now as far as this mystery goes... There's two things that bug me that we don't have definitive answers too.
1. Why would Salome bother faking upgrades to the Seven Viels. What's the purpose? Why would she do that?
2. Based on logical assumptions... Salome is either looking for Raxxla or this secret in the rift. So why would she go with the DWE? If she has reason to believe Raxxla is closer to beagle point, then wouldn't she be going low profile? Why go with an Expedition? If she's looking for the rift she went in the opposite direction. So. Questions. I think it would do us good to answer these questions as quickly as we can.

Well... that's a long story. ;-)
Short version is Drew thought that was the end for Kahina at that point in the space-time continuum, and that her story was ending prematurely, for a whole set of reasons far too long and boring to go into. See his blog post (if it is still there) from that time for some of the explanation. I suspect there will now be a different explanation for why those upgrades were faked now that she is back.
tl;dr I would not worry too much about these faked upgrades and the discarded amulet etc., unless Drew somehow grandfathers them back into the new storyline, which there has been no sign of to date.
Perhaps she (and Hassan and/or Luko) had already been to the Rift once (or more), and something she found there pointed her to the Core? Perhaps just as something she has seemingly found on the DWE has led to her current warning about the Rift? Going with DWE both provides cover for her own secret mission ("really, I am just out exploring for fun") and provides her with protection to call upon if needed if she runs into "something worse than the Thargoids".
