and that's his tat too.

Lovecraft and Raxxla have a similar feel to them,,,

"We found it! I've got the gate open,, now how do we close it and stop THEM coming through?"
'We never got that far before,,,no one knows!"
"What,, you could have told me before I opened it!"
',,, you didn't ask'

Can't tell ya how many times that one's been done.
Which is why FDev have said that they won't be doing the "alien war machine run amok" cliché. I.e. Thargoid invasion is a no-no.

So you wanted to know about the "Formidine Rift”?
(But were afraid to ask … ??)

I have attempted to collect all common thoughts and theories here. Apologies if I've missed anything out. Please let me know if you think something should be added! (Or even removed/edited.) Thanks to all who have contributed to the forum threads that I have collated the information from here.

This is the third forum thread in this series. Previous threads can be found here:

Please note the following information contains a lot of spoilers for Drew Wagar’s story “Elite: Reclamation”. I thoroughly recommend getting and reading the book first so as to not spoil the story. (You can get it on Amazon, Google Books or directly from the Frontier Developments online store.)

We have been told that the primary clues from the book have already been shared online, so the book is not necessary to solve this mystery.

Formidine = fear in Latin
“Congratulations commander. A clue.”
The forum post that kicked this all off

Overview and commonly agreed views:
There is a 'mystery' regarding the Formidine Rift.

It's been in the game for us to find since gamma release, and was discoverable since beta using in-game mechanics.

We don't know what the actual mystery is, yet.

Formidine means 'fear' in Latin. The rift, or whatever is in it, is to be feared…

The Formidine Rift was properly introduced to us in Drew Wagar’s book "Elite: Reclamation", one of the official Elite: Dangerous novels.

There have been two prior accounts, once in the Kickstarter comments by John Harper (author of “And Here The Wheel”) and other novels by Drew Wagar that are not considered canon. (It’s been clarified that the kickstarter reference was not entirely about the Formidine Rift, but an evocative reference nonetheless.)

There are two accounts in Elite: Reclamation that give us hints about the Formidine Rift, both from an 'old woman', several years apart. It’s important to note that the first account in the book is more recent (in the ED timeline) than the second. In the first account, Lady Kahina (as Salomé) has a chance encounter with the old woman whilst waiting in the hospital on Ferenchia for her space meds to kick in. She tells Salomé of her previous life travelling the galaxy as an Elite pilot. Kahina discovers the second account after hacking into the Imperial data banks on Achenar, in a holofac that the old woman appears to have recorded many years earlier. It’s worth noting that the information contained in the holofac appears to be more precise than the one in the hospital.

Drew’s hints and clarifications (summarised here and here) expand upon these accounts as we have been told it's not necessary to have the book to solve the mystery (although IMHO well worth getting anyway, as it is a great story, and the audio book is fantastic).

The old woman flew an original Cobra Mk III, but describes it as an “Apocalypse Engineering” version.

Drew has hinted on his blog that the old woman could be Elyssia Fields from “The Dark Wheel”, or Rebecca Weston (previously Rebecca Tyley before GalCop ch) from his Oolite novels with the comment: "Parallel universes will naturally share a lot in common." It’s likely her identity isn’t critical to solving this.
Drew has confirmed the ‘general area’ of the rift is “broadly correct” as per Erimus’ maps: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=116450

GalNet articles are now the continued source of information regarding this. All posts relating to Lady Kahina can be read here: http://inara.cz/galaxy-galnet/17 (Though further clues to the rift will not be confined to this set of posts as they finished last year on 21 July 3301.)

Whatever the mystery is, it would appear all the major factions want to keep it suppressed, hence the information being hidden in the Imperial databanks.

Lady Kahina and Salomé are one and the same person, and she is significant somehow in all this. (Read the profile of Kahina here: http://www.drewwagar.com/progress-report/profile-senator-kahina-tijani-loren/)

Salomé was a name given to Kahina by Hassan after she lost her memory.

She returned to 'Kahina' once her memory was regained.

Later, Kahina decided to adopt the commander name 'Salomé' and named her ship 'Seven Veils' (a tie-in with the name, and possibly of greater significance).

It would appear Kahina is dropping 'bread crumbs' for us to follow.

“The rift is Kahina’s story”

Several places Kahina visited in the bubble before disappearing line up with the ‘RR’ line

Main characters in the story:
(All the characters can be read about in the Elite: Reclamation guide book)
Lady Kahina Tijani Loren - The primary character in this story. She is the third daughter to the prior imperial senator to Chione, Senator Algreb. The etymology behind the name Kahina is:
Kahina = “Soothsayer/Priestess” – was a name given to a Berber Queen. Berbers were known as “white Ethiopians” in Greek times. Interestingly, the Berber Queen “Kahina’s” main enemy was someone named Hasan. A character named “Hassan” is a friend of Kahina in the Elite: Reclamation story.
Drew specifically pointed us to look into the etymology of Kahina. There must be something in this that will give us a direction to follow. Unless he wanted us to simply marvel at his literary skills...
Kahina (the title Kahin meant Prophetess) was a Berber (possibly Jewish) warrior queen, religious and military leader who led indigenous resistance to Arab Islamic expansion in Northwest Africa, the region then known as Numidia; used a scorched earth policy against the invading Saracens, destroying cities, orchards, and herds of sedentary Berbers, to make North Africa a desert, but that in turn lost her their support & she was finally defeated. Died around the end of the 7th century in modern-day Algeria. Supposedly, Dihya had a passion for ornithology that shaped science and learning in early North Africa.
There is a connection between the etymology of the word Kahina to the most famous fortune-teller of all times, Pythia at the Oracle of Delphi, which was also considered the centre(core) of the world.
Kahina abandoned her ship, tiara and "Salome" medallion, which resembles what every new Oracle/Pythia had to do. Specifically "Each new priestess was selected after the death of the current priestess, and after the legendary death of a man, was always a woman, who surrendered her name and position upon becoming the Oracle.”
Tijani = “Crowning” – but more accurately, a form of 'arrogance'
In Greek mythology, the King and Queen of ‘Aethiopia’ were Cepheus and Cassiopeia, who was an arrogant vain Queen. Cassiopeia boasted that she and her daughter Andromeda were more beautiful than the Nereids.
Hassan – A spacer who befriends Kahina. Hassan (and his brother Sushil’s) home system is somewhere in the WREDGUIA sector of the game (confirmed by Drew). It is assumed Hassan is currently a travelling companion of Salomé, the name given to Lady Kahina by Hassan.
Salomé – Given somewhat randomly by Hassan whilst she had lost her memory. Later, Kahina decided to relinquish her ‘senator-ship’ and returned to Salomé as a commander. (She is currently being played as a character in the game, and most recently made an appearance at Beagle Point with the Distant Worlds expedition.)
The etymology behind the name Salomé is quite lengthy, but in summary:
She is the dancer of the ‘seven veils’
There are links to Inanna/Ishtar and the ‘seven gates of the underworld’ myth
The story of Salomé is originally from the Bible, as a young girl who ‘danced for Herod’ then demanded the head of John the Baptist
An Oscar Wilde play expanded on this to create the character of Salomé who performed the dance of the seven veils

General timeline of events:
AD3297
Many factions are after Chione in Prism for the tantalum. To this end, Imperial forces invaded and took over in AD3297
The planets in the Prism system are all named after Greek mythological characters. They all have a connection with ‘Autolycus’ (who was a thief and trickster), and also to some extent Odysseus. (I detailed this in a forum post here. It’s also covered in Drew’s Elite: Reclamation guidebook.) Some further analysis showed that the first letter of each of the planets is an anagram of “Cadmean”, as in a ‘Cadmean victory’.

AD3300
Prism is taken back by a resistance known as “reclamists”
In the ensuing battle, Kahina ‘dies’ and loses her memory. (Though saved by her ‘mentor’, Dalk.)
She is ‘found’ by Hassan and named ‘Salomé’ by Hassan after his sister’s cat
Subsequently she meets an old woman in a hospital on Ferenchia who tells of her adventures ‘in the frontier’ and about the ‘Formidine rift’
“Let’s just say there was some serious      out there, stuff you wouldn’t believe. No really – no one believed me, said it was all a fabrication. I had no proof you see and they edited my memory afterwards. Ah, it’ll all come back to bite them one day, it’s all there in the Imperial databanks somewhere – and they thought the Thargoids were trouble …”
Salomé regains her memory and after many adventures (read the book :D) returns as Kahina to become the senator of Prism
After taking back Prism, she decides to secede power to Cuthrick Delaney and leave Prism to become Salomé again
Names her ship ‘Seven Veils’ (a tie-in with Salomé etymology)

AD3301
Visits Sol as documented by GalNet posts. Kahina didn’t want to be late, possibly because she wanted to observe something specific at a particular date and time:

“Kahina did indeed have an ulterior motive for her trip to Sol.”

Sol (Interdiction by unknown ships) 9 Feb 3301

Mars (Causes a commotion at Mars High) 6 Mar 3301

Tours outer gas giants in Sol – 17 Mar 3301

Earth (Cambridge and London)20 Mar 3301 (vernal equinox)
There is a link between Cambridge and the discovery of Cassiopeia A

She then turned up at Avalon (ship yards) (Persephone) to have the Seven Veils outfitted – 2 May 3301

Next she visits Achenar (Capitol) and whilst there hacks into the Imperial databanks to retrieve the holofac recorded by the old woman many years earlier. This trip is documented in GalNet, the details of which are in the epilogue for Elite: Reclamation: (Somewhere between 6 May 3301 and 21 Jul 3301)

"If you're listening to this it means you’re smart enough to have bypassed Galcop, Federation, and Imperial security." The woman on the video smiled. "Not bad, but it's nothing compared to what's coming. I'm guessing you'll be pressed for time so I'll be quick. You'll find the coordinates at the end of this message. You'll need a tough ship and a good pilot. It's a long way, so make sure you're prepped, no one will be around to help you out. Once you reach the rift you're going to have to plot a way across. There are no stars for dozens of light years and the dark systems haven't been mapped, so take your time, watch your six." The woman leaned in closer to the recording device. "What's there? Wish I could tell you, but they edited my memory pretty good, took me long enough to stitch this lot back together. Whatever it is, it's something that Galcop, the Imps and the Feds don't want us to see. Good luck, and ... right on, Commander." The holofac faded, leaving them with just the text.

It is assumed that the old woman had visited the rift before AD3280. (She was talking to Salomé in AD3300 but from her photo in the Imperial databank on Achenar, she was aged around 50 when she had her memory ‘edited’ because of what she'd seen, so at least 20 years before and probably more.)

After this Lady Kahina ‘disappears’ in strange circumstances abandoning her ship ‘Seven Veils’ (which is found ‘completely stripped’) leaving her Imperial tiara found in the cockpit (similarity here with Inanna/Ishtar descent into underworld myth, where the ‘crown of the goddess’ was removed before passing through the final, seventh gate), along with a medallion with the insignia from “The Dark Wheel” on one side and the name “Salomé” on the other. (It’s unclear what the connection is to the Dark Wheel, as this is the only mention of it in the story.)

Posted by Drew: #660 All of the Galnet articles about Lady Kahina were written by me. She has been on a series of exploration trips in the last nine months or so, but they may come to an end before long, so keep an eye out for her return. That may provide further insight.

AD3302
Salomé reappeared as part of the group “The Children of Raxxla” and was one of the CMDRs in the recent Distant Worlds expedition to Beagle Point, where she had an interesting exchange with Ed (the Elite: Dangerous intern): https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=239212&p=3750285&viewfull=1#post3750285

Full transcript here (including Salomés address to the Children of Raxxla): https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=239212&p=3754105&viewfull=1#post3754105

The full Distant Worlds at Beagle Point live stream with Ed can be watched here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sX2bJ971CUY

A short clip of Salomé at Beagle Point: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ntZlErB3gjY
Drew further clarified the information from the stream and recent GalNet post here: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=239212&p=3752007&viewfull=1#post3752007

Update 28/04/3302: Salomé has issued a directive to the player group “Children of Raxxla” to establish permanent patrols on the perimeter of where we consider the rift to be. Erimus shared this with us here: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=239212&p=3811159&viewfull=1#post3811159

The story continues …

Commonly held theories:
The RR line points directly towards the secret
The RR line is simply a signpost for "the rift, thattaway!"
RR line is roughly 128 degrees from the bubble as per the known maps of the galaxy
It may be possible to solve the mystery of the rift by retracing the footsteps of Lady Kahina. Certainly the timeline of events and places visited seem significant.
Some believe many of the clues, hints and etymology of the names point to something significant:
The story of Salomé has links to the Babylonian myth of Inanna (later Ishtar). Inanna had to pass through seven gates to descend into the underworld to rescue her lover, Tammuz. At each gate she had to shed a piece of clothing. The ‘official’ order is:
Crown
Earrings
Necklace
Breast adornment (probably feathers)
Girdle (with birthstones)
Bracelets (for hands and feet)
Loincloth (or ‘outer covering’)
It would appear that Lady Kahina wanted to be on Earth (Cambridge) for the vernal equinox. There is a link to Inanna and the vernal equinox – which is when she came out from the underworld. (The Babylonian calendar began with the first full moon after the vernal equinox, the day after the Sumerian goddess Inanna's return from the underworld, in the Akitu ceremony, with parades through the Ishtar Gate to the Eanna temple, and the ritual re-enactment of the marriage to Tammuz, or Sumerian Dummuzi.)
When Lady Kahina disappeared, she left behind her Imperial tiara on her ship the ‘Seven Veils’ which had been stripped of all valuable equipment
There are several links with Greek mythology: The naming of planets in the Prism system and the places Kahina visited before disappearing all have connections. Cassiopeia was the Queen of Aethiopia, and so was the “Berber Queen” Kahina. Lady Kahina visited ‘Persephone’ in the game. Persephone was also called Kore or Cora ("the maiden"), is the daughter of Zeus and the harvest goddess Demeter, and is the queen of the underworld (as consort of Hades.)
Some believe that character names are chance occurrences and happy coincidences, and what we are looking for has a more solid, practical reason for its existence, that will be borne out by the clues we have been given.
It is generally agreed that there is something interesting with the phrasing of "Good luck, and ... right on, Commander." Though no one has managed to fully crack it yet.
We could be trying to solve a type of ‘geocaching’ puzzle here. This is the activity whereby something is hidden in a location (IRL) and the 'searchers' have to solve a puzzle or crack a code to discover its location, usually with the help of GPS. There are often waypoints involved too, where each waypoint will offer a new piece of information. Sound familiar?
Some geocaching puzzle tips here and here.

The ‘RR’ line:
As described by the old woman, this is a line through the galaxy map from Reorte to Riedquat heading away from the bubble towards the area of the Formidine Rift:
Reorte (75.75 : 48.75 : 75.15)
Riedquat (68.84 : 48.75 : 69.75)
Using some math we can figure out how far off any system is from the ‘RR line’:
Z = 0.782805x + 15.85874
X = (z - 15.85874) / 0.782805
Tachyondecay put together some tools that can work this out for us: https://tube.geogebra.org/material/simple/id/KUhN3UtG
Interesting links and clues:
A summary of clues from Drew can be found here and here
Cyalope has put a spreadsheet together here of findings to date
Primary clues (reliable):
Formadine means “fear” in latin
Virgil uses 'Formidine' to describe the gateway to hell in Orpheus
The Kahina name etymology: Berber queen (soothsayer/priestess). Berbers were called "white Aethiopians" at Greek times => Cassiopeia link
Salomé name: link with the dance of the seven veils, there is the 'biblical' version and the Oscar Wilde play, and another link with Ishtar/Inanna and the seven gates of the underworld
The name of the ship, "Seven Veils": links with Salomé, could refer to a star discarding stuff, or crossing seven "gates" to reach the destination
One needs to “plot a way” through the rift
Finding it depends on who goes looking: Could the use of a ship with a certain range narrow down the search area?
We should consider the "core" of the problem: look at the galactic core, look for a stellar core, visit the core worlds or reconsider what is the central issue of the puzzle
Future hints will make things less "nebulous”: potential link with a nebula or dark clouds? Or should we stop looking at nebulas? Or it simply means that things should become clearer as time progresses?
Primary clues (may be unreliable/deliberately misleading):
Rift is along the RR line. (There has been some debate as to the reliability of this clue in the forum thread.)
We need to "keep going" - in which direction?
Secondary clues (maybe clues, or not):
Kahina tours the outer gas giants in Sol: potential pointer to Greek myths, in particular Neptune+Triton+Nereids => Cassiopeia
Kahina goes to London and Cambridge on the vernal equinox: Cambridge is close to the Greenwich meridian, the Cambridge radio-source catalogue (3C catalogue) is there
Cassiopeia A was discovered at Cambridge Observatory in 1948
The Prism system and link to Greek myths: all names revolve around Autolycus (Drew has also told us he named the planets as an homage to Ulysses 31)
Sol visit was most enlightening: could refer to a bright light source (radio, visible or X-ray) => Supernova, Cassiopeia A again perhaps?
Kahina leaves her tiara along with the Dark Wheel Salomé medallion (links here again to ‘stripping’ of items – Ishtar/Inanna/Salomé – removal of garments + the ship ‘Seven Veils’ being stripped in Achenar.)
Tinfoil clues:
At some point, Drew made a puzzle around eb, P => ro, C via Rot13, hinted by a sequence of dots read in unary (1,26,13)
It has been surmised that the dots and commas in “Good luck, and ... right on, Commander.” somehow point to x & z coordinates due to the ,...,. (3,1) structure.
In Reclamation, coordinates are supposed to be at the end of the message, but there are none. Message ends with "Good luck, and ... right on, Commander." which could be seen as three coordinates separated by commas. Using unary format as in the "eb, P => ro, C" puzzle from Drew (simply counting characters) it gives: 44, 3352, 10
Further thoughts on this can be found here
There is something interesting about ‘three dots’. This has appeared several times in the text, and various logos of the Dark Wheel and Children of Raxxla. It has been posited that this could be an ‘asterism’ that we need to look out for.
The naming of the ship 'Seven Veils' could be significant considering Salomé named it this after learning about the Formidine Rift. In fact ‘7’ lines up around a few things we have learned to date:
A Prism (As in the Prism system – Kahina’s home world) has seven colours
Violet, Blue, Green, Yellow, Orange, Red, Magenta
Seven veils/Seven gates of the underworld can be represented by colours of ‘Chakras’
Violet, Indigo, Blue, Green, Yellow, Orange, Red
The galaxy map has seven scoopable stars (OBAFGKM) that can be removed or revealed
Blue/White, Blue/White, Blue/White, White, White/Yellow, Yellow/Orange, Red
A star will discard seven layers of nuclear fuel leaving behind the core (after supernova, a neutron star or a black hole depending on the mass)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stellar_evolution
https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/3/37/Evolved_star_fusion_shells.svg
The ‘Magnificent seven’ family (?) of neutron stars:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Magnificent_Seven_(neutron_stars)

We could be looking for a type of star system that:
Is within the seven scoopable stars (OBAFGKM)
Has shed its '7' layers of nuclear fuel and so is a neutron star (the 'core') or possibly a black hole
Unpick all star class filters in the galaxy map except ‘non-sequence’ to display only neutron stars and black holes
Has a unique name as it has been hand placed
Has a procedural name as it has been hand placed (to disguise the fact!)
The system name could be derived from one or more of the available clues (GLA, ROC, EBP)
There is something about word-play here and ‘reading between the lines’
RHO Cassiopeia has been a favourite from the outset but was unreachable until just recently
Cassiopeia A is another favourite but so far can't be easily located. (We have rough co-ordinates but no practical idea of where it actually is, or even what it actually is considering it’s a supernova remnant in our timeline. Some surmise it could be a neutron star or even a black hole in 3302.)
Whatever it is, it should theoretically be reachable by 25ly jump range ship as this is the range of the ship the old woman from Elite: Reclamation flew
This thought has potentially been overturned by the discovery of the fact that her Cobra was an “Apocalypse Engineering” version.
Though we don't know for sure if the old woman crossed the rift or not. Or even if she actually found what it is we are looking for
Star systems appear to be arranged a little strangely in the rift - for instance if you check the galaxy map in the vicinity of the rift (filter to display unscoopable star types only), you'll find they only exist on a layer below the galactic plane.

So what exactly is it?
It could be an ancient ship wreckage
A rogue AI (that doesn't want to be found)
Thargoids!
Remains of an ancient battle with an alien race
A long abandoned or evolved human colony
An ancient probe of some sort
Another alien race (not Thargoids!)
A finding that points to the human race as the aggressors of the galaxy (think Statue of Liberty scene, Planet of the Apes)
A type of POI that was available since the beta release of the game
The discovery won't be planet side as “Horizons is not needed”
We are not certain if what we are looking for is in the rift, or past the rift, or past the outer galactic arm (hence needing to solve some clues to narrow the search area)
Michael Brookes and Drew Wagar have both hinted that some form of sentient life exists somewhere in the game (via separate sources)
Probably not Raxxla/

What have we done so far?
Despite filling up several threads with tin-foil theories and conjecture (many of which I’ve tried to document here), there is currently a semi-ad hoc ‘brute force’ expedition underway trying to map the area where we suppose the rift to be sector-by-sector. This is being lead by Dommaarraa with his excellent spread sheet here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet...iI7YqGtPATAO3XJG82o-Iy-hQ/edit#gid=1451809702
Erimus set up a communication channel for us to use here whilst in the black: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=239212&p=3725171&viewfull=1#post3725171
Qohen Leth has put together a stunningly accurate map of the rift part of the galaxy: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=239212&p=3819174&viewfull=1#post3819174
We have explored all the planets, stations, bulletin boards etc. of the systems Kahina visited before disappearing and not revealed anything significant as yet, despite some interesting tie-ins with Greek mythological characters and continuing in-game story plots
Exploration of systems with links to underworld goddesses - Persephone, Erishkigal
Exploration of the Heart and Soul nebulas and other interesting nebula located close by
Some of us have explored all the major systems in Cassiopeia and found nothing tangible as yet
A few brave CMDRs have been probing every system along the RR line in case something interesting is revealed
Many other ad hoc investigations and searches of interesting systems in the neighbourhood … too many to document here. (Refer Dommaarraa’s spreadsheet above for interesting POIs to date.)

I like it :)

Thanks ... it still needs a lot of work though. This is basically LuckyLuke's journal. Need to incorporate some of the stuff from Acheron Kimald's OP into it. Include maps, links to the FleetComm Discord and so much more.

I'd love it if some of you can help 'perfect it' before handing it to LuckyLuke to post a new thread, assuming he still wants to be the primary maintainer.

I'll have a new Formidine Rift map for you this week, 2D overview. But the FleetComm galactic mapping team are working on an interactive galactic map too - we're transferring all the legacy data from the mapping project, using the Corban & Finwen galaxy map, and incorporating it all into AnthorNet's EDSM. The whole thing should be ready around the time 2.1 drops. It will have a lot of Rift data on there

The cartographers in the community are truly amazing! To me it resembles a bit like diablo 3 when people loved the auction house but complained about the idiotic hack and slash minigame you had to play...

You guys are great!

Gothic horror would fit ED nicely. Return of the Great Ones and the search for Ilarnon.

BTW Drew said the correct phrasing would be RaxxLa. I guess we should get used to it, maybe someone finds the reason for a capital 'L'

Well that's an easy one. Either the Lave system or a L class star system. Or maybe I've got space madness. I've been jumping the past 10 hours straight.

RaxxLa definitely used to be in the Lave system. Just look at it and it's obvious. Planet Lave. Station. Belt. Lave 2. Where's Lave 1? Well that station used to orbit Lave 1. Which has now vanished. The only vanishing planets I know of start with a R.

Good to see some momentum happening to get this thread updated and renewed. I would ask and recommend all those that feel they are well versed in the history of this thread to review LuckyLukes summary document (and propose edits in the Google doc where needed) so we capture as much knowledge as possible to go into a new primary post of the 3rd Rift thread.

We need to include debunked and crazy theories in that first post to try and prevent them from the occasional re-emergence, as well as current thinking and generally accepted thinking.

I'd also encourage any keen followers of the Rift Saga to join us on the Discord channel where we regular chew over theories and are actively mapping the region of the rift in preparation of this mystery evolving. (Details linked in current first post)

I would link LuckyLukes summary but I'm not on my desktop and its disappeared from his signature! Could someone provide a nice big link please?

EDIT: here.

I knew a guy once, he was so sure of himself, he thought he had discovered America.

Finding the Rift is hard. To find Raxxla, you only ned to buy this.

Well the thing I mentioned is certainly not in the first formidine thread and not in the first 14 pages of this one either. I'll run through all of Drew's comments, I wanted to do that anyway.

I think he called Raxxla RaxxLa, when he said this mystery will be bigger than Thargoids and he does not expect it to be solved soon. I must go back to work

Did DB or MB not say recently there were things in the bubble we had still not discovered ?

Time for a 1 hour long down angle in the system then pop the discovery scanner ? Then go up !

So you wanted to know about the "Formidine Rift”?
(But were afraid to ask … ??)

Looks good.

Couple of minor nits/points.

  1. Missing the March 27th Galnet posting which mentions Alliance invitation, the fact that she'd gone to Cambridge Spaceport and Ambassador Waite.
  2. It's a bit of a stretch to associate Cassiopeia (Queen of Aethopia) and Kahina (Berber Queen). Aethopia did not include that region of North Africa, they were the Libues (Libya).. There are definitely similarities between Cassiopeia and Kahina but historically those were disjoint regions.
  3. I linked to some papers regarding Cas A. It is known to have a neutron star remnant, it's also known not to have been kicked out of the nebula during the explosion and its proper motion is known. Personally I don't think it exists in game but that's subjective: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=239212&p=3799344&viewfull=1#post3799344

The timing is right. We'll likely see a surge in interest in the next month as the story kicks back into gear (assuming Galnet posts occur). My guess is that a lot of the tinfoil generated in the vacuum that existed between last July and now will be exposed as so much cruft. To help separate the old tinfoil from the new tinfoil I'd strongly recommend that the owner of the new thread grab the first reply slot. At some point during the thread's lifetime much of the 'old tinfoil' can get moved down to that second post so the 'new tinfoil' can have a place of importance.

I'm pleased to announce the first legitimate lead on finding RaxxLa. Well. La is short for Lanthanum on the periodic table. Well what's special about that? Lanthanum is derived from a Greek word which means: "to lie hidden." I personally think the name RaxxLa is a cipher. Split up into three parts which give you coordinates.
