This has been discussed before
Consensus then seemed to be that this is something to be filled in by Frontier later and not important yet. Also, people who have collected all poassible system permits have reported that this didn't unlock any region permit for them at this stage.

Excellent. Thanks for providing that link. Its just me and space madness then :)

That's not the Kahina I remember from the book.

She has charm and style. She is easy to like. However, her actions in the reclamation of Prism were swift and brutal. Even going as far as executing the leaders of the rebellion.

She is not the kind of person that would let Patreus take Prism unchallenged, in my mind.

I believe the short story on the Children of Raxxla homepage is approved by Drew, in it she makes some pretty severe statements regarding her thoughts on and plans for Patreus, something about a head and a platter...

What if she's looking for a new ally in the rift, her own AI fleet? Will poke into a hornets nest and will break loose hell *paranoium foil cap* Bring guns, big guns!

This is wat I did found -4640LY from Sol and 65000ls from the sun a canister (small survey data cache)

Just for the fun of it, I edited the image a bit and tried to get it read by an online bar code reader. Failed, but could be the image quality as well. Maybe should shear it a bit more so the bars are vertical and remove the edges of the can.

2 days ago i returned to the bubble because i need jumponium. now something strange is happening. i sold my data to children of raxxla, i am now allied with them. afterwards i started to search for jumponium. now everytime i find rare materials like yttrium or niobium this happens: a npc appears and wants to talk to me, typical "hard to track down" thing, basically right after i leave the planet. now first of all the mission timer and payout in the message differ greatly from the actual ones, like 50% more payout and about 80% less time. and the other thing is i become allied with the sending and recieving faction immediatly. first i thought this is a strange coincidence but it simply does not happen when i find the usual stuff on surfaces. has anybody experienced anything alike?

Did you target the ship giving you the mission? What faction was it from?

Do you have any active missions when you get this?

no missions active, in fact i didnt do any missions for like 2 months cause i was out in the void. havent payed attention yet to the ship's faction.

he followed me from another system. i forgot to mention that they are very persistent in finding me. one followed me through several systems. its like they specifially want me to do this one task.

Same happened to me yesterday in Formidine Rift.

These are quite common, too common in fact at the moment. MB has said they plan to reduce the frequency these pop up in the next big update.

This seems odd! Never seen this when I didn't have a mission active. Anyone else?

Must be worth following up. Will you let us know more ?

Regarding the Data cache, I had assumed they spawn when Commanders have been through a system? I only saw them on my trip within a 2k (ish) radius of the bubble.

Figured they were like pollution and just spread out with us.

I am around 16k from SOL now on my trip. I have seen any signal sources for quite a while now. However there was one system (thinking back about 20 jumps) where I was travelling 250k Ls between a couple of stars to pick up some more interesting bodies, when I kept getting Slow Down! Slow Down!

When I did slow down to investigate, there was nothing near me. In fact I was about 100k Ls from any planet. No contacts, no signal sources, no white lights, no green lights... just diddly squat. I considered it to be a bug and carried on. But now it makes me wonder. :S

Could have been belt clusters. 100k Ls sound quite far away from the star though.
