The Formidine Rift - Part 2

I would like this as well. I only have a couple people on my friend list in game.

CMDR Aerovoid
current location: Schee Hypue TO-J b15-0 attempting to get to NGC 1491 in the rift.

Nothing much there I'm afraid, was just there 2 weeks ago, but for exploration reasons to say you've been there go for it and be careful.

No luck there I'm prett sure. Have read th series.
Sure it talks about a rift, but the whole saga starts out with a separate trilogy about the "rift wars".
You'd have to use the annual Chinese tinfoil exports and then some in order to create a connection there. : )

I figured it had been visited already. Seeing some systems that have been tagged by others. Still had hopes that i might find something though. ;D

That one has been solved already, though. See here. It's probably not related to the Rift, and I'm not sure if you can still find the later clues - but maybe somebody will post them.

It's the same place Kahina did her upgrades, allmost a year ago.

If you are the true Emperor, they may forge you some Excalibur lazors. :)

Wait... the answer to this treasure hunt was a system related to Kahina/Selome? Wasn't the location of one of the previous treasure hunts the Prism system? Or maybe my memory is really, really fading? Probably the latter... I did post earlier that Luko gave Kahina the name Salome so... yeah. Must be early Alzheimer's onset.

... keep going. 'Stars thin out, you can see the whole galaxy just hanging there."

That makes me think we need to go under the glactic plain. When i think of something Hanging in the air I dont think I am looking down at it . Maybe across but not down.

Interesting... but when I thought about something "hanging there" my immediate thought was from the perspective of looking down at something... like when a lady gets in a car, closes the door and part of her dress is accidentally left hanging outside. :)

And... good to see you Ecco! I don't think I've seen you about since we were trying to hunt you down before you could deliver your exploration data to Liaedin... almost a year ago! Time flies... o7

I expect the latter secrets being a little more lifted in early April ("if everything goes well" according to Drew).

Drew explained on another thread that "if all goes well" includes the assumption that 2.1 is released on schedule. Since 2.1 is going to be delayed, so are these clues.

Have any conclusions been made from Drews "ahem, core of the problem" statement? HERE

What do we consider the problem - the rift itself? If so what do we consider the core? The middle? The start? The bottom?

I know, I know! It's ambiguous as hell and could mean anything.

Ok quick and dirty - I've created this google doc everyone can edit. Stick your CMDR name on it if you want others to add you in game:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet...-Bt3n4px8TmOoOW2YaCe2fM/edit?usp=docslist_api

Thanks!
Just added my name to the list - I am currently abaout 700ly from NGC 7822 heading out towards the rift.
It's my second visit - I've been there abaout a year ago.
(Though I was not able to cross it back then...)

I am probably not a very useful - I am a casual player with very limited play time.
(My last journey out there took me over 2 months!)
But I enjoyed Drews story very much and a am therefore curious about that mistery that obviously has been in game for such a long time...

Also thanks a lot to the OP for making me try EDDiskovery and EDSM - what a great tool!
Imagine we had something like that in game integrated into our ships board computers...!

When I get home from work I'll add it to the first page. Also gonna be adding links to useful programs.

Cool - I've been playing around with the math spreadsheets that tachyondecay kindly created towards the back end of the last thread - #767

BTW - what would be considered to be close or a deviation from the RR line? Whilst touring Prism, Sol, Avalon & Achenar, I happened to notice that they line up pretty well on the galaxy map. I threw their co-ordinates into the spreadsheet linked above and was amazed to see they are fairly close to the RR line in the opposite direction. (Approx 15-40ly deviation, Avalon being the closest.)

Not sure if it means anything but I've learned to follow coincidences...

I was also curious about the naming of the planets in Prism. They are all named after the family of Odysseus from Greek mythology.

Daedalion - was a son of Hesperos, or Lucifer, and the brother of Ceyx. Ceyx describes his brother Daedalion as a great warrior, full of courage and vigour but acknowledged that he could also be harsh, relishing the cruelty of war

Chione - Daedalion's daughter was said to be so beautiful that she was the object of a thousand men's desire. As it transpired Chione's admirers were not limited to mortal men. Whilst returning from visits to earth both Apollo and Hermes caught sight of Chione and were filled with a burning lust. By Hermes she gave birth to Autolycus who grew into a notorious thief and charlatan.

Amphithea - wife of Autolycus and mother of Anticlea, the mother of Odysseus.

Anticlea - (literally "without fame") was the daughter of Autolycus and Amphithea, and mother of Odysseus.

Eurycleia (spelt wrong in system) - the wet-nurse of Odysseus. As a girl she was bought by Laertes, Odysseus' father. He treated her as his wife, but she was never his consummated lover so as not to dishonor his real wife, Anticleia. Eurycleia's name means "broad fame," while Anticleia means "without fame."

Neaera - a daughter of Pereus, mother of Auge, Cepheus, and Lycurgus by Aleus. In one version she married Autolycus.

Mestra - was a daughter of Erysichthon of Thessaly. She had the ability to change her shape at will, a gift of her lover Poseidon according to Ovid. According to Ovid, Mestra married the thief Autolycus.

Common thread: Autolycus - I thought I might be onto something, but his name doesn’t appear to exist anywhere in the game!

Thank for your help, but I have done that, im not clever today at all myself it seems you must put in 4 references of all the systems you visit I thought it would plot my route on the map of EDSM after admit my logs
