I was very interested in the NS idea and visited:
Hypiae Aescs OJ-I d9-6
Hypo Aeb PT-Z d13-1
the latter of which is gloriously behind the rift, on line and high up - but nada. will be checking Myoideau ua-f d11-0 on the way home but it looks like a well trampled area and doesn't fit beyond the rift in any way sadly. Still shiny.

Also the WR star Myoidee AA-A h0

Oh and an O type at Pha Aeb BA-A g0 that was reasonably awkward but pre-visited and an orange giant at Schafeau OO-Z d13-9 which was a surprise

As to theories to cross off the list lining up the point where the RR line intersects with the SagA*-NGC 7538 line is Hypo Aeb ED-Y c28-0 and nothing. If someone with higher range wants to try and get a little higher there who knows. The spare area behind the rift has all sorts of patterns in it - bits of chequerboard and islands in the unscoopable layer that's sometimes replaced with all M-types. This might just be random chance though.

But this is all tight up around the rift. The vast area beyond remains relatively uncharted in EDSM and plenty of space for whole regor-region sized things to exist and not be seen

With all the tinfoil I figured it would be fun to try and get the in-game tinfoiler into the conversation. I submitted the following to the 'Player events and news items' thread:

Bentonio was recently in the news after making his own plea for cartographic data to prove his theory that the 29th of February 3302 was an 'aberrant day' heralding the imminent collapse of the universe. What Mr. Bentonio did with that data, and whether it helped prove or disprove his theories, has never been released to the public.

It will be curious to see if they actually do run with it.

Federation-backed exploration community goals have been very sparse. Halsey and Bentonio were the last two Fed community goals that ran. Apparently, neither of them had any positive outcome is spite of the fact that they both successfully reached the highest tier. Something is very fishy about that. Successful community goals are supposed to effect the story, right?

From what I've seen the normal pattern for exploration CGs is that it takes a few days for 'results' to be posted in the news. The Groombridge 34 Leapday CG hit Galnet on the 29th and the announcement that it was complete was the very next day. No waiting, no time for Bentonio to have actually processed the data either. The galaxy turned in the data ... and nothing.

Now with Jasmina. The same thing. Two days after the successful CG we're told nothing came from it.

Did both of these CGs really have no possibility of a positive outcome? Is something else being done with this data behind the backs of the organizers? Is Jasmina Halsey being railroaded?

The two wings were escorted out of the bubble by a security-squad. However, nothing odd happened on the first 1.6 kly out to the waypoint.

Ah, I'm glad someone recorded it. I was F10ing throughout it but was not going to post as I did not want to steal CoR's thunder. However after a while when I did not see it posted I thought I would do it... only to discover I'd been pressing F9 or 11.

The spokesperson went on to say that the former Federal president had been admitted to a secure psychiatric facility on Mars for "extended care and review". This announcement follows weeks of speculation concerning Halsey's mental health, which was called into question by commentators both within and outside the Federation.

Hmmm food for thought:

Is this the Federal, Core Dynamics, military industrial block using this is silence a problem and there is a conspiracy (along worth all the previous murders and accidents), or is Halsey genuinely suffering from post traumatic stress, and having a bit of a David Icke moment (sorry David), and people are genuinely trying to help her?

One of the nice things I have noted about FDEV and there story telling is that there is a great deal of depth to it. It would not surprise me at all if they said, lets have Halsey come back and start another massive round of conspiracy, but in actual fact she is genuinely just suffering from PTS and there is nothing behind any of it at all, knowing full well the tin foil community would go into overdrive?

I think it is Winter and her people that are working behind the sceens here. Possibly backed by Sirius corporation. It's not the first time they showed interest in exploration data.

We may be looking at a 'Faust' situation, where certain groups tries to make alliances with aliens, against the rest of humanity.

When it comes to the Snake/Dove quotes I think Salome is saying be carefull, but don't shoot.

well the quote from yhe bible is Matthew 10:16
but it is not "So be as cunning as snakes but as innocent as doves"
its “Wise as a Serpent and Harmless as a Dove”
so not an exact quote, interesting that it says innocent, how many of us are innocent? how many have not killed a UA or harvested Meta Alloys.
Right i am of to bleach my self don't like quoting from that book but sacrifices for science are needed.

Thanks to the endlessly prolific number of English Bible translations her words are in fact an exact quote. Check the "God's Word" translation which reads, “I’m sending you out like sheep among wolves. So be as cunning as snakes but as innocent as doves."

Regardless of the exact wording it is familiar enough to stand out in the passage.

Is CMDR Salome a player or is she an NPC character?
If a player is she part of FDEV? I see it mentioned that CMDR Alessia Verdi is the author of the novel.

I believe the bible quote (Matthew 10:16) must have some meaning.
The verse is quoted twice in Salomés speach. ("be as cunning es serpents..." and "I am sending you out like sheep amongst wolves")
What that meaning might be, I don't know.
The context of the verse talks about christian persecution by the authorities...

Salome is the lead character in Drew Wagar's book Elite:Reclamation, which is one of the books approved by FD as canon lore. A player character also named Salome has recently appeared in the game, we surmise a friend/relation of Drew's, & she appears to be progressing the storyline. Drew has given a set of clues to a mystery in the Formidine Rift & those are summarised at the start of this thread; Salome now appears to be giving us clues/ suggestions to prepare for an imminent threat. Alessia Verdi wrote a novella to bridge the gap between the book & the player, where Salome became the leader of the Children of Raxxla, which is a minor faction in-game.
