Got one and its good. However, everything went a bit strange and I couldnt start the game one I'd deleted the Nvidia drivers. I had to go back to a restore point to get everything working again. I have no idea why, and the ticket is still under investigation.

I'm currently running the alpha on a MacBook Pro i7, 16GB DDR3, GT 650M 1GB and I'm getting about 20-30ish FPS on the 1440 x 900 display.
I would like to build a hackintosh so I can replace my ageing MacPro (2008) and would like to run my ultra wide monitor just for E maxed out at 2560 x 1080. I'm currently looking at a i5, 8GB, EVGA Nvidia GeForce GTX 760 Superclocked ACX 2GB GDDR5 Graphics Card.
Does anyone know if this will be up to the job, on max settings at 60fps? I'm a little worried that I might be disappointed when I finally build it.

Well if that was a windows box with those components, I think you'd be OK (i5 > 3 GHz) but future expansions (planetary landings etc) may require more oomph. Seems like a fairly good spec to me though.
Finally made a choice and decided to go with an Nvidia GTX760 and not one of the AMD cards mainly because of the issues that the alpha has with AMD cards. I ordered the card from amazon & it was between £25-40 cheaper than the equivelant card I would have got at most of the other places I would normally shop like Scan, Overclockers & Ebuyer so I went for it and the card should be here Thursday.

Honestly Geforce 760
I've played with a few lower cards but I really don't suggest playing with less than a Geforce 760 based card with 2Gb at least. Cheaper and older cards will play but will slow to an absolute crawl under load ( funny thing though is when they do its really nostalgic .. So like C64 Elite its not funny. )

You can make of very good affairs on the the second hand market. Site of selling computer hardware and also Ebay etc ...
