for exploration and photography it's works. From explorers and photographers perpective, is Odyssey now worth buying? Or are there still game breaking stuff in? Pics look cool but how does it feel to play?
It does work nice enough, though like in Horizons some planets are just dull and produce boring images, and some are nice. For me with RTX2060 it runs well enough in 1080pFrom explorers and photographers perpective, is Odyssey now worth buying? Or are there still game breaking stuff in? Wouldn’t a big flight / meeting / deck be soooooooo coolMy fingers happened to slip a little in the last picture.
Got a 1060 too. Just turn it up to Ultra (w/o FSR of course) for the five seconds you need to get the (static) screenshot, doesn't matter if you get <10 FPS.![]()
well, I'm even below the mentioned above 1070 - running on gtx970. I've reduced resolution to 1080, and I don't use FSS, while for image quality I use Ultra+ (and Ulta/high for most other settings). Still in the worst conditions like settlements+some windows in the scenery I haven't seen anything below 15FPS for weeks now even on that old hardware. So if not fighting, and outside of settlements (where FPS usually times better) this works pretty well for me.From explorers and photographers perpective, is Odyssey now worth buying? Its been worth buying for exploration for a while now, on foot combat fps is probably the only area where the inconsistant frame rates matters still in a breaking way. I have an old 1080 GTX and was playing just fine on High preset on 2K resolution on my 4K monitor before. After update 6 with the AMD hack I can now leave it on Ultra preset and more importantly 4K resolution, I played at first with the AMD FSR at Ultra Quality but the new "Balanced mode" feels like a good compromise currently as I decided to return to the bubble to do some settlement missions. Combat Zones are still a bit too much for my rig @ 4k as this is particularly where you need consistantly high frame rates, however I am not too sure if its just about graphic detail I think its more about CPU with the NPC AI there (I have a i7 7700K). There is still some terrain pop and weird HDR lighting and planet/surface shadows doing weird things especially when flying low but those glitches were never breaking. The "first footfall" accolade, the simple but diverse Organics scanning, the feeling of life the NPCs bring, missing from Horizons and the feeling of unlimited potential great vistas to find with or without the new atmospheres is worth the price of the DLC IMO.From explorers and photographers perpective, is Odyssey now worth buying?
