Sorry, can't help you but as you configure it can you let me know if there's a way to toggle head look on the hat?
I'm using the right hand thumbstick on a 360 for this at the moment and its the one thing I don't want to lose if I move to a leftie Thrustmaster.

It definitely works, I've just tested it with my t.16000m

Throttle Axis: JOY-U-AXIS
Invert Axis: On
Throttle Axis Range: Full Range

Thrustmaster T16000m

Hi,

I have been lent a Thrustmaster T16000m joystick to test and I was wondering if people could suggest to me on the best way to set it up for playing as all I have is the joystick itself and no setup instructions. Can you make recommendations on which actions I should assign to which button as I havent really used joysticks much, not since the days of the old atari ones :)

You haven't said what you are trying to do though.

Letus know and I'm sure someone will be able to help.

Just wanted to chime in that the Thrustmaster TARGET software is the biggest piece of garbage I ever came across.

It doesn't work right under Win8.1 so it needs some tweaks to even get it to recognize a stick...POV Hat of my 16000m still not working. This software is about 900 years old and hasn't been updated in ages plus it eats a lot of memory because it always has to run if you want to use it.

So if you have a new system with Win8.1 and you decide to get a Thrustmaster stick MAINLY for the TARGET software....think twice.

That being said, the 16000m is a decent joystick.

:eek::eek::eek:

I did not know that, and I have ordered my t16000! :(

Yes it works fine. However (and this is NOT mainly about Thrustmaster) but I think it's really idiotic that the standard Windows calibration tool does not offer setting deadzones. (No biggie since of course you can set deadzones in ED options...)..but still. This joystick is very sensitive out of the box.

I really like how CH did that (although their calibration software is ugly)...but at least it offers decent options, actually all you could ever want, custom curves, deadzones, etc..etc.. I just don't like that to get the SAME functionality like with CH joysticks you need to run target/a script. I would rather have a "normal" control panel like CH..where you set stuff once and can then forget about it.

Anyone has this??? =.=

joystick joypad mouse

i own all 3, and ive used all 3 a lot in other games over the years.
so anyway i tested all 3 in ED and what i found was using a joystick/HOTAS was perfect for ED although it wasn't the right choice. coming from ww2online where i used joystick and free track for years dog fighting ED does not feel optimized for joystick on most axis.
from what ive found is you can set dead zones in all but you cant set sensitivity i.e the roll on a joystick is either 0% or 100 theres no between even though in windows you calabirate your stick through all its increments on all axis it only seems thruster has increments all other axis feel like 0% or 100% nothing in between, this feels like a huge pain in the backside so ive gone for an arcade style mouse/kb set up for precision although ide love to use The stick. correct me if im wrong but with the 2 sticks ive used and joypad ive found this problem.

PS i think FD know this thats why we have gimpled weapons

seems theres no joystick optimization for ED, on most axis its 0% or 100% no between which makes matching a roll or fine aiming a pain in the backside.
ive used joystick hotas setup in flight/combat sims alot over the years and found most let the player set axis sliders for sensitivity and deadzones, ide like to see ED have this kind of fine tweaking. theres a huge difference in feeling and immersion when you have to tap the stick from 0 to 100% off and on to match a roll rather than moving it to the right spot and holding it there

Aduz, it sounds like you've bound your controls wrong. There are seperate options for analog axes and digital buttons, I'm guessing you've bound your joystick to the digital control sections.

Maybe it's me but my X52...

So I got my X52 (not pro). And some of the buttons don't seem to work.

I have been using the default setup provided by FD and, for example, But "I" on the throttle stick is defaulted for boost (joy 30) but this doesn't work. Also the mouse nipple, button, and scroll wheels don't work either.

Is this due to the beta? 1.03 and have in the past different button been working or not working. I have downloaded several setups and they all included buttons that do not work with my system.

I am directly plugged into my rig and am running win7 64 bit.

Just curious. any help would be appreciated.

Couple of things maybe.

Take a look at this thread.

Make sure you're running the latest drivers (7.0.27.13), you haven't plugged it into a USB hub, and you've set up a custom profile in the SST software.

I had to do the latter to get the pinkie switch to work on mine. By default it enables something called "clutch mode", which causes issues in E: D.

Anyone from Europe wanna buy a Thrustmaster T.16000M (green)? I bought it about 6 months ago and it hasn't seen that much use, just some Elite: Dangerous (I didn't get into it deep yet), some light dabbling in other older flight/space sims and quite a bit of MechWarrior 4: Mercenaries in the last couple of months. It's in perfect working condition, good as new really, I have the box still to ship it with and I'm only selling it because someone here is giving me a deal on a used full HOTAS so an extra joystick is redundant and of course I'd also like to soften the blow of its price further for myself by selling this. I'm willing to give it for around half its retail price + shipping fees which I imagine would be around 30 euros total depending on the destination or whatever you guys think sounds fair instead. If anyone can direct me to a better place for potential buyers and maybe provide some directions on the safest/best way to deal with such a transaction for both parties please do, I've not sold other things online and I don't wanna get screwed over by sending the item and the buyer somehow taking his money after the fact like I hear people doing by exploting paypal or whatever...
