The next update 2.1 Engineers (1.6 to basegame-only owners) scheduled for April release?

I must have read the news letters and announcements wrong then as I seem to have the impression that 2.1 first part of Engineers was due out around 1-2 weeks from now.

Your impression is wrong ;)...a timeframe has never been given. I certainly never expected it 1-2 weeks from now. I DID expect it sometime end of March or at the beginning of April. And according to this news so were the devs themselves until they now felt like they had to push it forward.

This may be common knowledge for people in the UK, but is completely puzzling to me as an outsider - why do you have to tell the city (Which I may interprete as a synonym for the ministry of finance?) before anyone else? And what is stopping anyone from telling them first, then 5 minutes later the customers? :D

What you have to do is not pass on or act on passed-on information that is not public but could affect the share price of a company. That would be insider trading.

Posting the info on a forum, or in a newsletter, does not count as making it public. Releasing it on the newswire does. Hence it goes on the newswire first.

Oh dear, I do hope that they get a stable release candidate ready for May, I think to delay any further would really hit the confidence of the players however to release it buggy would hit it far worse.

I won't ask FD random questions that I "need" answered, I can see they have lots of work to be getting on with.

This - if they are pushing the next upgrade back, most likely they will ALL get pushed back and we will not get the full value of our "Annual Subscription" this calendar year.

Yeah, I'm starting to wonder if we're seeing a very slow-motion train wreck. Not intending to be mean, but FDev have set themselves up a domino row of deadlines. Here's to hoping they don't all start coming down.

FD have left 2.4 so open that it could just be a GalNet post about finding a dead Thargoid body floating in space and they'd still meet the letter of their schedule.

Well, we have waited 2 months I guess we can wait 2 more :p or 1. Is there any chance that the AI can get patched before 2.1 is released? Or is all coming in a big quality package? 2.1 seem to address many bugs and tighten many loose ends together. Is there a dev update tomorrow?

I think so, too.

This is not a game, this is a great project. And it is much more difficult to handle than the 1000st Ego Shooter (or Assassins Creed Unity, or Batman A.K.).

Take your time.

I will buy some Paintjobs to support you.

No more patches until the 2.1 release, dev updates were being combined with the Newsletter, although there wasn't one in last weeks.

So I was wrong with my impression by about 2 weeks not like err... 3 months.

hmmmmmm Worst part of this whole thing just dawned on me, and perhaps someone from FD should post in the correct forum.

IF I am right in reading that there will be no more updates at all before 2.1, and 2.1 will be going into beta at the earliest in May then that means it is now a certainty that there will be no support for oculus rift CV1 at launch.
maybe time to cancel my pre-order.
(only hope may be a steam VR update, which would do as a band aid i spose)

Hmm never thought about that one Mike. Glad I didn't order it now. I think 2017 may be a better choice and a little cheaper perhaps.

Safe to say that the Horizons season will extend a couple months into 2017? If they adhere to the roadmap then it's going to be really tough to get all of that in this year. I don't think there's anything that says each season has to last only 1 year, or run from Jan thru Dec.

I have to say I'm a bit disappointed about this delay, though I understand the reasons behind it.

Could FD let us know if there are to be any patch fixes due in the meantime - the broken missions have been around since Horizons beta.

Like others I'd be keen to know how FD see the rest of the Horizons updates panning out after this delay.

Thanks

+ 1 - I would expect Frontier to put a patch out that disables the broken missions at the very least.

Interesting development...

But looking at the Bug Reports section and seeing how many Bugs are still "alive & well", I'm not against seeing V2.00.07+ well prior any new major Update.
"Only a smashed Bug is a good Bug!"

I'm glad like many others that they decided to delay release instead of rushing at the expense of quality.

It's hard work to create something, no matter what it is, and make a living out of that. I'm sure it's stressful over there.

Thanks for caring about your product enough to chime in and inform players first hand Michael, really appreciated.
