Hey folks, came across this thread while trying to find information about unlocking the resolution for VR. I have a Founders 1080 running on an i7 3770, 16gb RAM, and rocking a Rift.
I currently have super sampling up to 2 but will be dropping it down to 1.5 tonight. I have not noticed any frame rate loss at all, just artificating. The 1080 is a monster and is handling VR very well. Supersampling at 2x will cause occasional "flashing" and artifacting, which is a little disruptive.
As far as other VR settings, I believe I have everything on High. I can check tonight, but I'm really just waiting on Frontier to unlock the VR res to be above 720p.
The immersion experience has been really wonderful so far, but the game does not look crisp enough. I thought I could ignore it but its a very hard game to lose visual clarity on, since you're constantly focusing on distant objects. No regrets here, but I want Frontier to give me a little more control over my experience.
Project CARS on the other hand looks INCREDIBLE. I was so impressed. Also got Edge of Nowhere. 3rd person games execute very well in VR.
