The Open v Solo v Groups thread

Well drywall is not a load bearing structure, so who cares :D
Hopefully the person who owns it. But if that's your view it would make sense why Fdev doing low effort bare minimum on what they own is fine in your view.

Hate to tell you, even when things that are damaged aren't load bearing, they still reduce the overall value of the house.

You sure you know what you're writing?

I have never told PvPers to get lost, I play Solo/Group and made them lost from the day one. The ones who cry are PvPers who can't hunt me, and throw tantrums "no one wants to play with us". :)

You still don't realize how the things are, and who is crying?
crazy if you're so unworried that you're still crying about something that hasn't been a problem for you.

Cheese Helmet to continue your metaphor, patching non load-bearing stucture with what ever does not bring whole structure down. It is not essantial, just cosmetics.

Welp, got "some" engineering to add to all the other engineering I've been procrastinating with 😩
After I unlock prismatics.

Though there's still issues that engineering won't help with, like too many interdiction (attempts) every time you jump in the handful systems where all gankers spend their time.
Gonna be hard to participate in a CG if I have to high wake out of the target system every time, innit ?
Well that's just it really- it's your game and if you have 8 hollow triangles competing to see who can interdict you, you have to make the decision over whether that's fun or not.

There are some people who will tell you to play other games on the highest difficulty setting. You don't have to listen to them.

IMO PvPers want everyone in open and no blocking so that they can send us to the rebuy screen. Again. And again. And again.
The main reason we want people in open, is so that when we actually play the game (powerplay, BGS, being big ones) there's actually interaction. That dynamic interaction is where this game shines. We're already limited by instancing, timezones, the size of the galaxy, etc, so anything where when actually playing the game you find yourself in those dynamic situations would be a welcome change. it would incentivize more cooperation within the game too, and when that happens organically is when the game is at its best.

When you meet some other CMDR in open, you have no idea as to what their intentions towards you are. They could be friendly, they could be indifferent to you. Fine. But you cannot tell those from those that are simply out there to send you to the rebuy screen. This imo leads to less organic co-operation. Remember, the first rule of not getting sent to the rebuy screen is to avoid being in that position in the first place, leading to even less in game co-operation.

Actually you can tell very easy. First scan them, check their modules. Will tell you really fast what kind of build they have. Then if you can't because they're getting behind you, well there's you answer too.

This game has always leaned on 3rd party tools, and when it comes to cooperating with others that's no different.

Oh "dynamic interaction", that's the phrase I forgot, thank you for reminding me.

Mate, it's dead easy - everybody who want that kind of "dynamic interaction" can go open and enjoy to no end. It is in the game, you all have it.
Anyone who knows better, who knows what this "dynamic interaction" really means, can go Solo/Group.
Everybody's happy.

What is your problem, honestly?

A)Not having enough content for your "dynamic interaction", right?
Or
B) you, out of kindness of your soul, want more people to enjoy that wonderful element of this game?

A or B?

Basically you want more targets.
