How do those who enjoy PvP plan to enforce the Open only play stance?Right back at ya.
The premise of your question is flawed. We're discussing what would make the PP mode better. Nobody is enforcing anything. What are you talking about lmaoHow do those who enjoy PvP plan to enforce the Open only play stance?
Better for who?The premise of your question is flawed. We're discussing what would make the PP mode better. Nobody is enforcing anything. What are you talking about lmao
The service is still provided by Gankers.Org
In fact going down the list you can see who's Seal clubbing in Deciat and who's doing FdL vs FdL in Puppis.
Sure would. But thats much less of an issue since it puts it on the player to do it manually per individual. And of course block functionality is important to stop actual harassment and griefing that breaks tos.Besides would still leave open window for lets say dishonest blocking. Block most of your opponents and things go smoothly.
You mistake me - I meant CMDRs coming together to do AX stuffEmergent stuff? You mean AX needed kind of ship that is very poor against PVP ships. And surprise! What happens? Yay, gankfest.
Fair. The premise of your question is flawed. We're discussing what would make the PP mode better. Nobody is enforcing anything. What are you talking about lmao
Yeah frontier is notoriously slow about correcting any mistakes they make, and not to mention their infamous "well this thing isn't used much, so why improve it" when the reason it isn't used much is because it needs improvement.Fair.
When discussing improvements we're then back to diametrically opposed opinions.
Noting that the pro-PvP lobby have been lobbying Frontier on the topic of PvP gating one or more game features for over a decade now.
Odd then that Powerplay has just had a significant rework and, although the topic of Open only was raised as a possibility seven years a ago, that Frontier chose not to PvP gate it....Yeah frontier is notoriously slow about correcting any mistakes they make, and not to mention their infamous "well this thing isn't used much, so why improve it" when the reason it isn't used much is because it needs improvement.
Yeah I was around for all that discussion. Unfortunate they made the wrong choice, resulting in the same issue still being present.Odd then that Powerplay has just had a significant rework and, although the topic of Open only was raised as a possibility seven years a ago, that Frontier chose not to PvP gate it....
The wrong choice in the opinion of some, certainly. Then and again last year.Yeah I was around for all that discussion. Unfortunate they made the wrong choice, resulting in the same issue still being present.
Not very hard to run centralised campaign and little intelligence gathering.Sure would. But thats much less of an issue since it puts it on the player to do it manually per individual. And of course block functionality is important to stop actual harassment and griefing that breaks tos.
Blocking is also there so that you do not have to play with others that you do not want to play with. For whatever reason. Even if another CMDR does not attack you, they can still spoil your gameplay.Sure would. But thats much less of an issue since it puts it on the player to do it manually per individual. Classical landing pad or mailslot trolling comes to my mind. Or kamikaze smashing....Reason why I use docking computer when playing in open.Blocking is also there so that you do not have to play with others that you do not want to play with. Yes Ive never disagreed. Don't see how it relates to powerplay though.Blocking is also there so that you do not have to play with others that you do not want to play with. For whatever reason. Even if another CMDR does not attack you, they can still spoil your gameplay.
Easy to implement lets say I have nice squadron doing PP. Send some people to do intelligence gathering run. Okay have this kind of opposition, these and these commanders are actively opposing. Okay implement mass block. Now do your stuff with way reduced opposition.Yes Ive never disagreed. Don't see how it relates to powerplay though.
Yes, I think this makes it more likely that anything artificially limited to Open won't work (sadly IMHO) because it's quite easily exploitable.Easy to implement lets say I have nice squadron doing PP.
