Welcome back to the Planet Zoo Award show! Last year we crowned the Maned Wolf as the best animal in Planet Zoo, beating out over 100 other competitors. This season, we are back bigger and better than last time! This season the theme is Best DLC! 16 Paid Packages of extra contents to the base game, all of which bring something new to the game, but which pack adds the most? Which pack helps players create the zoo of their dreams the best? This season we will answer these questions and so many more!

Heres how the Season works:

Like said before there will be 16 (because I'm pretty sure no one thinks deluxe is the best pack) contestants each representing each pack. Contestants will go through a series of rounds just like last time that will have different categories and different twists. However heres where it changes with the schedule:

Contest Duration: 4 Months
January 15th - February 15th - Best Animal Pack
  • Week 1: Best Animal Quality, Best Animal Choices (No eliminations)
  • Week 2: Best Animal Type Diversity, Best Biome Diversity (No eliminations)
  • Week 3: Best Continental Rep of a single Continent, Best Continental Rep Worldwide (No eliminations)
  • Week 4: Best Animals to Build for, Best Animals to Enjoy (No eliminations)
  • End of 30 Days - 4 Eliminations (Top 2 Animal Packs move on)
  • Best Animal Quality -> Eurasia Animal Pack 👑
  • Best Animal Choices -> Grasslands Animal Pack 👑
  • Best Animal Type Diversity -> Wetlands Animal Pack 👑
  • Best Biome Diversity -> North America Animal Pack 👑
  • Best Continental Rep of a Single Continent -> North America Animal Pack👑
  • Best Continental Rep Worldwide -> Grasslands Animal Pack 👑
  • Best Animals to Build for -> North America Animal Pack 👑

For the first month of the competition we will be deciding what animal pack(s) are the best. Each week of the month will be 2 categories.

January 15 - January 18 Category:
Best Animal Quality
Vote for the pack with best quality of animals.

Ranking all animal packs by animal quality:
  1. Arid: I couldn't believe my eyes when these animals were released. The dromedary completely knocks aside the Bactrian. They actually got all of those quills on the porcupine. All of the animals look fantastic.
  2. Wetlands: The capybaras and otters are both accurate and adorable, the platypus is technically impressive, and the ungulates/croc were fantastic quality.
  3. Eurasia: The animals here are also very good. The wisent looks fantastic and the swan is also a feat. It's comparable with the two above.
  4. Grasslands: This is about when the quality of the animals really jumped to the next level. Some are a bit better than others, but they're all good.
  5. North America: It doesn't seem fair to compare this one with the newer packs on that front, but the animals still hold up.
  6. Southeast Asia: I'm so happy some of the issues were fixed. The new tapir looks great. I still think NA is generally better, but SEA is no longer so obviously in last place.

For me, it's hard to choose between Southeast Asia Pack & Eurasia Animal Pack.

I'm going to vote the Eurasia pack because the animals all look great. The bison has the right size, the wolverine is stunning, the swan is top quality, the hair of the boar looks fantastic, the tortoise model and animations are perfect, the saiga nose looks funny, the bear is by far the best bear model and the takin is gorgeous.

And even if it was the update, the quality of the tapir also improved.
