The Size Issue, and others

I’d be quite irritated if Allosaurus ends up being smaller than Cerato. Ceratosaurus definitely needs to be bumped down to the JP3 9 meters or even a little less. I think it’s the most ridiculously sized Dino in-game right now besides Godzilla Rex

Sue is 12.3m long (largest and most completed T-rex's skeleton)
Rexy is 13.4m long, so Rexy is 30% bigger than Sue (volumn compare)
JWE's T-rex is 14m long, so it is 47% bigger than Sue.
So let me compare:
If Sue was a 1.8m and 70kg woman.
Rexy would be a 1.96m and 91kg woman .
JWE's T-rex would be a 2.05m and 103kg woman .
Otherwise, a 10.4m long Ceratosaurus is 2.2 times bigger 8m Ceratosaurus.

Okay - first off you are comparing a "living" T,rex (Rexy) to a T.rex skeleton (Sue) - so the length figures, and weight estimates are not accurate.

According to findings from the hadrosaur mummies - Dakota (Edmontosaurus) and Leonardo(Brachylophosaurus), paleontologists have been underestimating the length of dinosaurs by about 5%. This is due to the soft tissue(skin, muscles, tendons, and cartilage), which of course does not usually fossilize. So to find out what Sue or any other dinosaur was like in life - you need to add 5% to it's length and height.

So in life - Sue would have been about 12.9 meters/42.3 feet long in life. An average adult "living" T.rex would have been about 12.5 meters/41 feet long. And while Sue is the most complete adult T.rex - "she" is not the oldest, and likely is not the largest. A specimen known as Trix is about 70-75% complete (2nd to Sue), and is known to be at least 30 years old. "She" is also estimated to be about 12.5 meters/41 feet in skeletal length. So in life -"she" would have been about 13.1 meters/43 feet long.

So using your comparison of the size of T.rex to the size of women.

If the average "living" T.rex is about 12.5 meters/41 feet long, and weighs about 7.6 metric tons.
Then - Sue would be about 3.2%(12.9 meters/42.3 feet) above average in length, about 10% above average in weight (8.4 metric tons).
Trix would be about 4.8% longer(13.1 meters/43 feet), and about 15% heavier(8.7 metric tons) than an average adult T.rex.
Then - Rexy at 13.4 meters/44 feet long - is only about 7.3 % longer than the average adult T.rex - and should weigh about 9.4-9.5 metric tons(about 23.7 % above average).

But then remember - that Rexy is a genetic engineered and modified T.rex. which is WHY she is slightly slimmer in build compared to typical T.rex - since she actually weighs about 9 metric tons.

So if the average adult T.rex - is equal to a average size woman (~1.65 meters tall, 66 kg).
Then Sue would be equal to a woman standing - 1.7 meters tall, weighing 72.6 kg
Trix would be equal to a woman standing - 1.73 meters tall, weighing 75.7 kg
And Rexy would be equal to a woman who is about 1.78 meters tall, weighing about 79-82 kg.

Thanks for your informantions.
I don't argue about T-rex's real size. I don't say that T-rex couldn't be bigger Sue . What I mean is Rexy bigger than Sue. And Sue is really big (maybe biggest ever or not - no one can sure, some specimens as MOR 1126 CELESTE or UCMP 137538 are said to be bigger Sue, but haven't comfirmed yet)
And JWE's T-rex is even bigger than Rexy (Largest T-rex in Jurassic World).
Devs should scale down T-rex's size about 13m long or at least 13.4m.
And here is what a 14m T-rex compare to the biggest Jurassic World's land predators: a 15.5m Indomimus Rex

The Size of the Dinosaurus
PLEASE DON'T MAKE THE TAILS OF THE DINOSAURS DRAG! Camarasaurus, Apatosaurus and, Mamenchisaurus dragg their tails!

Dracorex needs to be smaller
Pachycephalosaurus_scale.png

Archeornithomimus needs to be slightly smaller
Stegosaurians need to be smaller, specially kentrosaurus and Huayangosaurus, they look quite huge compared with the real animals.
stegosaur-comparison.jpg

Sauropods need to be slightly bigger (e.g and archeornithomimus (need to be smaller) says in the game to have 1.8m tall, and in the game it has the height of a leg of a mamenchiosaurus!! Just the femur of a mamenchiosaurus was taller then a person (1.80m) just the femur!!!
Spinosaurus and Giganotosaurus need to be bigger than T-rex

I 1,000,000,000% agree with this sine the tails where there to counter balance the huge neck, they lose a lot of that effect when they’re dragging on the floor

@Scottslive24 @Shadowear1991
I think Suchomimus's size is correct. I have compare it with a man in game and it about 2.5-3m height at hip. Spinosaurus's size is correct too.
Problem is T-rex and Ceratosaurus is TOO BIG. This mistake make Sucho and Spino looking so small.

I agree with this, both the Rex and Cerato are oversized which is throwing the other dinos scale off.
- I think the Rex needs a size reduction (not a huge amount but enough that its slightly shorter and lower in height) to the Giga and Spino.
- I think the Ceratosaurus needs a significant size reduction, its way too big currently and looks totally out of place.

I think something being overlooked is that Rexy(Roberta) is a very old Rex in JW/JW:FK. Like at the end of her lifespan. So size comparisons to her elder state don’t really feel accurate to the JW:E Rex.
There’s a pretty big size discrepancy between JP1 Rexy/TLW doe and our current Rex which would be comparably quite young coming right out of the creation lab. I feel like there’s not any reason it needs to so inflated. And Giga is so undersized it looks like a juvenile.

I definitely agree - that is the size the JWE T.rex should be - 13.1-13.4 meters/43-44 feet long, 5 meters/16.4 feet tall, 9-10 metric tons.

Actually that photo of the JWE T.rex and Indominus rex - makes the T.rex look like it about 16 meters/52.5 feet long - which is INSANE.

Still even if the T.rex's stats are slightly reduced, The Giganotosaurus' stats definitely needs to be increased by 1.4-1.7 meters long, and 1-1.5 meters taller, and it's weight reduced to 8-9 tons.

First off - there is no actual indication Rexy is a very old T.rex. Yes it is true that - the oldest known T.rex was about 30 years when it died - but that does not automatically mean that age was considered to be a very old T.rex - it could just as easily be considered a middle aged T.rex. So far their are only about 50 known skeletons of T.rex, of those only about 20 specimens are considered to be more than 35-40% complete. So we actually don't know how old T.rex could live to, and likely won't know until there are a few hundred specimens to study.

In addition - Rexy actually spend about 17 years in captivity for her 30 years(JW:FK) - and it is generally noted that animals in captivity, which are well cared for - tend to live longer than their wild counterparts - some times almost twice as long..

Sizes and weights in stats tab not correct ?

Hey guys,

im not quite sure if anyone except me actually cares but i still wanted to mention it. Im not talking about the dinosaur model here. Just about the stats that are given in the game.

I dont really know where Frontier got the sizes and weights of the dinosaurs which are shown in the stats tab or the ingen database. But some of them seem really weird to me :S

For example the Huayangosaur is called a "little Stegosaur". It is 2,2 m height and 8,5 m in lengh. And its weight is given with 3 tons.
The normal Stegosaur is quite a bit bigger with 3m height and 10m lengh. But its weight is only given with 2,4 tons. Should be more at about 4-5 tons.

And a Triceratops of quite the same size (3m height, 10m lengh) is given with a weight of 12 tons.

And the Ceratosaur is only 1 ton at a size that is about the same. Well i guess carnivores got a different anatomy than those herbis but 1 ton seems really too low.
Metriacanthosaur weights twice as much while it is quite a bit smaller btw.

Ankylosaur is given with a height of 2m and a lengh of 8m. Weight is 6 tons
His "brother" polacanthus is almost as big (1,7m, 7m) and weight is given with only 900kg. Cant be true right ?

There are some more strange sizes/weights. Can anyone tell me where Frontier got these stats? Are they maybe wrong?

Actually - I would love to know that as well.

But I can tell you that Frontier is DEFINITELY - off on many of their stats.

For example - a 1 ton Ceratosaurus is about 6-7 meters/20-23 feet long. At 9 meters - Ceratosaurus would be about 2-2.5 tons, and at 10.4 meters/34 feet long Ceratosaurus would be about 3-3.5 metric tons.

Huayangosaurus - should be roughly the same size as Kentrosaurus - about 4.6 meters/15 feet long, about 1.9 meters/6.25 meters tall, and weighed about 1 metric ton.

Chungkingosaurus - was about 6 meters/20 feet long, 2 meters/6.6 feet tall, and weighed about 2 tons.

Stegosaurus - should be about 9 meters/29-30 feet long, 3.5-4 meters/11.5-13.0 feet tall, and weigh about 5-7 tons. It was a small sub-adult specimen which was about 5-6 meters long, which was estimated at 2.4 tons. But 10 meters/33 feet is basically the Lost World stats for Stegosaurus - so that is exceptable.

Triceratops - was about 9 meters/29-30 long, 3 meters/9.8 feet tall, and weighed up to 12 tons. So Frontier's stats for Triceratops are pretty close.

But other ceratopsians should be fixed
- Torosaurus - is slightly smaller than Triceratops - at about 8.2-8.5 meters/27-28 feet long, 2.74 meters/9 feet tall, and weighed about 9 tons.
- Pentaceratops - should be about 7 meters/ 23 feet long, 3 meters/9.8 feet tall, and weighs about 6 tons.
- Chasmosaurus should be about 4.6-5.0 meters/15-16.4 feet, weight about 2 metric tons.
- Styracosaurus - should be about 5.5-6.1 meters/18-20 feet, 1.8-2 meters/5.9-6.6 feet tall, weight about 3 tons.

Ankylosaurus's stats - are about right both in being scientific accurate and JP/JW lore. But some of the other ankylosaurs are less so,
- Crichtonsaurus - should be about 3.5-4 meters/11.5-13 feet long, 1.5 meters/5 feet tall, and weight of about 500-700 kg.
- Nodosaurus - should be about 6/1 meters/20 feet long, weight was about 3 tons
- Polacanthus - should be about 5 meters/16.4 feet long, 1.8 meters/5.9 feet tall, and weighed about 2 metric tons.
- Sauropleta - should be about 5.5 meters/18 feet long, and weighed about 2.5 tons.

for dilo's frill closed, you can have option of full frill, half frill, or no frill. half frill like the one in Jurassic World Alive

I feel like any complaints like this can be explained away the same way none of them being fathered is.

what bugs me is when the game clearly goes against the film cannon. like the spino is assumed to be the same one in JP 3 (being loose on the same island and all) yet is smaller than it should be. or the T-Rex having 0 social despite the films establishing they work in family units

One ton, vs fourteen tons ! yep, giga sure have heavy bones here [smile][yesnod]

yeah thats...not...it is not correct, something is wrong, I do not know who was responsible for that but it is frankly incorrect.

These values look really credible to me. It would be great if they would fix that. [up]

Well - the Allosaurus- Ceratosaurus comparison is based on the estimated average size for Allosaurus fragilis and Ceratosaurus nasicornis. As has been pointed out - both of these species are known from larger sized specimens. In the case of - Allosaurus fragilis - the largest specimen is about 9.75-10 meters/32-33 feet long. And the largest known specimen of Certaosaurus nasicornis - is at least 7 meters/23 feet long.

But I would also add - that Allosaurus fragilis is NOT the largest species of "Allosaurus". There is Saurophaganax aka Allosaurus maximus which is usually estimated to be about 12 meters/39.4 feet and weighing about 5 tons. Also there is Allosaurus amplexus aka Epanterias which is usually estimated to be about 11 meters/36 feet long and weighted about 4 tons.

As for the JWE Giganotosaurus - Ceratosaurus match up - I will just say - Ceratosaurus - should be at least 1 meter shorter in length (based on it's JP3 stats) and weigh about 2.3 tons. While the Giganotosaurus (as has been stated by many of us) - is too small in length and height - It should be increased by 1.1-1.7 meters in length, nearly 1.5 meters in height, and it weight reduced to about 8-9 tons.

In fact all the very large theropods in JWE should have their weight reduced by about 50-60%.

Ceratosaurus Size :)

T-rex:
In game, T-rex's length is 14m. This mean 4,5% longer in length and 14% heavier in weight compare to Rexy (13,4 m).
14% longer and 47% heavier compare to Sue (12,3m - the largest T-rex ever comfirmed).
Spinosaurus: OK
Giganotosaurus:
In game, Giganotosaurus's length is 12m. This mean 10% shorter in length, 75% weight compare to specimen MUCPv-95 (13,2m)
Ceratosaurus:
Ingame, Ceratosaurus's length is 10.4m. This mean 73% longer in length, 5.2 times bigger than real Ceratosaurus (6m)!
So, most important thing to do is scaling down T-rex's and Ceratosaurus's size

I agree with your.
First, T-rex needs size down (L 12m H 4m).
I want to adjust the size of T.rex around the size of Giga.
Second is Ceratosaurus.
Cerato is middle size of A carnivorous dinosaur.
But Most of the sizes we know are juvi status. It's about 7~8m long guessed. (Ceratosaurus Dentisulcatus was 7 meters long)
