Piracy back in the day was more of a state sponsored enterprise against nation states in a sense. So an Imperial Pirate would only really target a federation trader and vice versa. Or it could even be neighbouring systems vs certain neighbouring systems and your alliance to that systems ruling body could be the trigger. I'd be more inclined to cooperate with piracy in open mode if there was a charter of rules of conduct. In fact I'd be happy to see that even in group as long as it wasn't some random murderous affair.

Seeing that there sencible people to change the game modes I propose the following.
Do not change anything, everything is fine as this, but to make a thread if you do not want to change anything.
I really think that some people have closed minds and do not want to see reality.
The reality is that the game lacks gameplay, but the truth hurts.
Find your way.
I found I already do bounty hunting and trade as 90% of the players.
Also explore some parts of space, very funny.
I tried and did not like mining, offers nothing more than painite and waste of time.
I will not be hard but it's reality.
Less costly expansions and upgrades in the playability make better Elite and Dangerous.
They can keep the game modes but need to change the way they interact, to encourage contact with the players and potential danger in the game.
As the Russians that block stations. Very funny. Some people cry for it but for me it's fun.
No matter if they're 10 or 5 players for instance, meet a player in the middle of space can generate new forms of gameplay.
In my opinion the soloplay can exist but for what it is. "SOLO" PLAY "SOLO" "Alone," "no people" "NO CHANGES ON THE WORLD OF THE SPACE" "NO INTERNET ON YOUR SHIP" and less credit for being afraid.
Come brothers play together in this beautiful game.

Usually some other thread has a few mentions about Open or Solo and BAM.. merged. So many topics devolve into "Well, if you played Solo that wouldn't happen" or "Well, if you didn't have it so easy in Solo you'd know how hard it can be".

I understand the position of Frontier, but I think that if so the evolution of the game is affected.
I think Frontier need adjust this games modes becouse they affect the gameplay.
I think the community does more for the game that frontier.

My old school pub changed names years ago when it got sold to a chain - now the chain has sold it off for flats even though it was functioning well still - just like another chain did with another local that was always busy.

Some people are jerks on the Internet. I'm not going to argue that, it's very much true. That said, the game isn't supposed to be a friendly walk in the park, it's a game of dodgeball. The npcs try to hit you with dodgeballs all the time, they're just really bad at it.
