No, xbox Live sub has nothing to do with the diffrent modes. Its a Microsft thing, the only thing FD could have done is not releasing the Game on Xbox and then probably also not on PS4 (dunno how much Sony can be talked with about that and PS+).

Nobody would win then, FD gets less customers and many people who would like to play ED don't get the opportunity to play it.

It kinda does, when you think about it, they have to pay to play in Open and in Private, yeah it's a microsoft thing, but Frontier did agree to the terms, when it apparently impacts our galaxy and stuff, while they're entirely secluded them from us and are on their own. It's just bad and not good for the Xbox One users, in my own opinion.

I think DUST 514 got it right as to how it impacted the main game, than to just screw with the game fully. but since we don't have a DUST 514 situation, it just seems more appropriate to give them a reason to pay for a subscription and give them access to play with the PC/MAC users. Which is how I see it.

issue is if FD didnt agree on that microscamsoft wouldnt have allow them to make the game for xbox..same issues maybe will have with ps too

you don't pay Xbox Live to play Open or Group, you pay Xbox Live to play online MP on Xbox. Its not about a single Game, its about a design of the Console. And the Idea that Galaxy belongs to us PC players is silly, the galaxy is there for every player in equal manner, including future Xbox and PS4 players. Nobody has more rights or anything like that because of the plattform he plays on.
Xbox players can flip a system just like PC players, sure you can't shoot them but you know what? They can't shoot you either. Nobody has any advantage.

And Frontier probably agreed to some more Terms, Consoles are closed and tight controlled systems after all. They probably also agreed on some terms for Steam, thats just business and theres nothing wrong that.

Noooooottt exactly that "more players to blow up" argument, why are you so petty and adamant about it? So what if he wants to shoot people? Calm down son. Sometimes, you gotta shoot mans, sometimes you don't.

If I was any more calm I'd slip off my chair and wouldn't be able to reach the keyboard from the floor. Dad.

returns to the age old problem of Solo, Open and Groups

Sometimes I forget if you actually know what those problems are or not because you keep veering off into the strangest tangents.

If DUST 514 ever goes to XBox they will have the exact same issue of Live subscriptions and patch cycles.

They have to pay for Xbox live to play online in general, which is fine, but that also means they need Gold Membership to play in Open and Private. Also, who said it should belong to us? Quite the opposite, it should belong to everyone and everyone should be able to play with one another on the same big servers; not this isolated stuff that is being pushed onto the Xbox One players and potentially the PS4 folks. It doesn't make sense to give them the tools to impact our galaxy when they are essentially isolated from us and have no way to interact with us.

That is the problem I have with it, I want them to play with us and not be isolated. Unlike the general problem we have with Open, Private, Solo, we can somewhat Interact with them, but with the console folks, we can't do that at all regardless of modes.

The agreement with steam was entirely different and didn't mess with the players playing with one another, the agreement with Microsoft does.

In the announcement that E: D was to be released on XBox One, DBOBE stated that we would all share the same galaxy state. He specifically did not say that we would share the same instances. This is a confirmation that the shared galaxy state is a core feature of the game.

No, it is two entirely different games that only impacted a tiny bit of the original game, the case we have with Elite: dangerous is more or less bigger than that.

"No" to what? Whatever game you are talking about if it goes to XBox and it has multiplayer you'll need Live Gold to play it. Sometimes I think I'm in the Two Ronnies Mastermind sketch with you.

And what if they do not want to play with you?

That's fine, but why would they pay Gold membership and still have access to essentially impact our stuff if they're entirely isolated? They do not interact with any of the PC/MAC users at all, which I think is a bit silly and doesn't justify them having to pay gold to play in open or in private groups.

Also, I feel bad for that poor poor intern that works on manually inputting data into the BGS, PP and other stuff. Rip him.
