You write so much about other games, and game design in general, that I don't think anyone here even knows exactly what it is that you are lobbying for...EVERY game that has PvP and is balanced around it, will have a big PvP community. Even some PvE games like WoW (where you had to do PvE at least for leveling to do PvP later) with pretty weak balance overall still have a huge PvP community.
So people EXPECT it to have enough other people to play with. This is how it works, nobody will check out HOW MUCH PvP is actually possible - if its there, anyone would expect it withhin a decent time window of 5-10minutes if he wants.
It really doesnt matter if this is a pvp-oriented game or not, its a part of the gameplay and anyone who likes it expect to find opponents quickly, specially after release when so many people get the game.
And having a singleplayer-mode doesnt mean that is has to cripple the multiplayer part for it, its true for 99% of the current multiplayer games (most of them have a singleplayer part somewhere, heck even CS has "singleplayer" VS bots, but most people play in multiplayer just because playing with other people is fun).
So what is it? What is it you want Frontier to do?
