You see familiar faces and it's a good way to farm rep.
It gives us a place to vent.
Again, if Solo players of the Xbox One can do the same thing we can do PC Solo wise, there is a huuuuuuuuuuuuugggeeee problem.
Maybe people should stop crying about how pvp'ers play the game <snip>
so that the space truckers stop complaining about pvp'ers playing the game their way.
If I spend that time in Group or Solo (as I was forced to last night) none of those battles were zero-reward.
It's exactly the same problem we have now. Nothing new. What difference does it make if the person not playing with you is using a PC, Mac, Xbox or half a brick tied up with string?
Well, the fact that they have a subscription based system. Silver membership have no access to private or Open and expected to still change the scope of the universe so freely?
Seems a bit sketchy to me, but let's see how it plays out.
The PC and Mac versions, we do see one another, which is why I'm fine with that.
The subscription is a Microsoft thing. Nothing to do with Frontier.
But again, Solo on Xbox is the same as Solo on PC. Where is the difference?
Why would they still have access to our universe and still impact it
Because that is how Elite: Dangerous works. Are you new?
The question is Why would they still have access to our universe and still impact it from their solo mode, when we will NEVER see them regardless of modes?
Yeah, that's fine, it's great it is a separate entity, but I don't like how the console players are essentially excluded from the PC players. It's like the equivalent of secluding the HOTAS users from MAKB users.
The question is Why would they still have access to our universe and still impact it from their solo mode, when we will NEVER see them regardless of modes?
And I mean NEVER, they are entirely excluded from us and that isn't at all necessarily fair to any of the PC/MAC gamers. And the way things have been going with Power Play and the background simulator, oh lord I have no hopes for the amount of bugs that'll be present in that incarnation of a mess.
Seeing as playing with a controller is, for me, the quickest way to death possible, I can see why FD chose to separate them from the multi screen, HOTAS wielding PC PK'ers who would hunt them down for the lulz. The only way around this would be for Xbox to allow the same controllers - something I can't see MS allowing.
Same reason as our Solo mode. What difference does it make? FD want us all to share the same universe. The more players influencing it, the more dynamic it becomes. It is only a simulation of a dynamic galaxy, it needs player input to actually change. The more players, the more change.
Personally I am glad of more dynamism is the galaxy.
While I never used a hotas, I can say a controller is leagues above a keyboard and mouse, for me at least.Seeing as playing with a controller is, for me, the quickest way to death possible, I can see why FD chose to separate them from the multi screen, HOTAS wielding PC PK'ers who would hunt them down for the lulz. I was kind of hoping for more players to be matched in open with.
