FYI I am a "Steam Fool".. I have the feeling many here take this forums way too seriously and given the small percentage of members compared to those in game if you left because you may have ran into forum posters you didn't like well lol more fool you..

1. Open is nothing like what many try to make out.
2. Many have motives which are not pure i.e. promoting their own PVE group.
3. Given players can play in other modes, the galaxies should also be different i.e. open not compete with solo..

1) Open is vilified and praised in almost equal measure, depending on the view of the person talking about it at the time. I've not personally encountered the 'evil' that some speak of, though I don't doubt for a minute that there are bad eggs out there who get their kicks being an ass to everyone they can be. They exist in some form in any online game, not just this one.
2) Speaking of motives which are not pure, pot, meet kettle. Your dislike of Mobius is well known at this point, given how often you take the opportunity to let everyone know about it. We get it already, time to move on.
3) Given that the Dev team intentionally designed the game to include all three modes sharing the same universe, I don't see this ever happening. Solo is as close as many folks will get to the promised 'offline mode', so any arguing, crying, petitioning or other efforts to get it 'nerfed' are just wasted energy. Again, time to move on.

I'm sure that FD would love to accommodate you on this one if you pay for it. Another background simulation is going to cost whatever the current one costs to run, over again. So all you have to do is open up your wallet, say, "here's the cash to run the 2nd background simulation for solo" and they might take you up on it.

Not a hope , there is no way I would miss your posts, it takes me back a few months to the early days of this thread when I read your posts, pure nostalgia, I still have a hope that I might convert you (or you might read page 1 to 50 and convert yourself) but faith & hope are wonderful things.

Man I know FD are not always the best with communication but that would be funny.

FD...... Really Guys didn't you see the 1.03 update "player block list is now showing shadows correctly and does relate to the non gimlbed shadows although there are still issues with crossfire", how could you miss we fixed the block list! lol

You really got your knickers in a knot over that Steam thing. It was mean't to be a joke but like I said many are way too serious in this forum. I use it because I remember reading a thread complaining about Steam users..

Soon as someone does all you get is "join Mobius" call. Joining Mobius is not a solution, well it is but there are other equally good solutions..

The problem is that they don't like getting condescending retorts even though it is their favorite tools to use when putting differing points of view across.

3. I do like this argument, the design was for this etc. It doesn't work though, the development team will change their minds depending on a few things such as what is going to make the game a success for the long term. It may be PVE for all I know but dismissing something because it wasn't in the original brief will lead to disappointment..

Not many of us group solo players say that all of open is bad. Mostly we just don't want to play there.

When people come on to the forums complaining of being destroyed, whether by griefing or bona fide game play, there's really only two things to say to them. Either tell them to avoid such encounters, and how, of which Mobius is a valid option, or tell them to suck it up, be a man and learn how to fight. I think that in general, the first is more constructive, although if they asked about the latter, there'd be plenty here would give helpful advice. So, what are your 'equally good solutions'? What constructive advice would you give to a player who comes to the forums in that position?

No I don't care about steam at all, I don't have a steam account, what annoyed me was the "steam meat" comment, seal clubbing.

I will not put you on ignore however much you ask me to, I think I will have many interesting questions for you in the future.

Here's one for a start what is "fools" is it an acronym? (Oh I asked that you ignored it) is it different to "Those Steam fools" are the different things?, can any other "steam fools" (if there is such a thing) advise here? I am a little lost with all this new stuff.

If it is a new player I would advise them to get out of the starter area. There seems to be guys there who like to shoot at newbs.

If you do get interdicted then submit straight away this way you are able to jump out quickly.

There are heaps of friendly players around so join up in wings, if you do run into a bully they are less likely to attack a wing than one lone player..

There are a couple of systems know that have more undesirables so avoid them until you have a big enough ship to be a threat to them. There is no reason to go to those system anyway other than looking for interaction.

More importantly the Devs need to know what is happening so they can make fixes i.e. station ramming, this is vital as because this game will succeed if it is seen as a MMO not a single player game with a bit of LAN..

Of course it does and making a computer game does as well. If they think it is going to make them enough money they will do it. You know no more than me on that one..

No its just my opinion which is the great thing about forums is they give you a conduit to put them across about something you are interested in.
