That make the buyable 150k looking like nothing... as i said... We will have the same high amount of cash like in elite.

And like I replied - it doesn't compare.
To earn 250,000 UEC is 60 hours playtime in SC while earning 250,000 Cr is 10 mins in Elite. You can't make comparisons between the two.

It's the difference here that's important, a ship that costs 12x more can earn 38,400x more from day one - if you pay up front.
There's a follow up to the post I linked that says 35 days in an Aurora to afford a Hull E (550,000 UEC), in that same time period a Hull E owner would accumulate 21.5 billion UEC.
That's totally out of whack.

Hulls are only profitable in high sec zones and they won't fit through every jump point and might have to take a longer (--> more dangerous) route. Furthermore, you won't have all the money to pay for escort, maintenance and the goods themselves on launch day.

Fair points but that only temporarily negates the earning capacity. If, after a week you can make 600+ million UEC a night you can afford a slew of ship escorts. The earning capabilities seem strange and so far beyond everything else.

The Hull E pilot could hire on 49 Aurora wingmen to make sure no pirate players can fit into the instance, pay them all 1% of his profits, and still take home billions

I wonder how long it will take to load and unload 153,600 units of cargo? Imagine a pirate Idris trying to load 153,600 units of loot floating around in space, I hope they can loot the big containers and not have to remove the contents of the containers . . . that could take awhile

Here's a video from Feb 2015 that CIG really doesn't want you to see...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YfpcTrbsRuo

They guy played Arena Commander on a TABLET with a PEN and scored multiple kills! Again yes, he played the best ever SPACE SIMULATOR with a PEN.

The original thread is still on RSI, surprisingly:
https://forums.robertsspaceindustrie...than-the-mouse

And here's a quote from the OP:

"With all those Mouse vs Joystick talk, i saw a lot of questions like "what will happen if someone uses a pad or a tablet". So since i have an old Bamboo pen tablet i decided to try this out. After couple of attempts and adjusting the sensitivity i managed to record this video. Flying with the device is highly uncomfortable, may be because i am not used to use it that way) Also the pen lacks some buttons the mouse have and if i touch the pad with the pen tip the group "one" starts firing. Nevertheless those guys in the video were officially killed by a pen!)"

^ Already been posted 2-3 times already.

Now that we got freight covered, I'm guessing SC is just missing those liners and we might have the whole ship spectrum covered? I do not think we need another 20 different fighter ships xD

MAYBE FERRIESSSS, ships that can ship ships!!

I don't think CIG will stop making new ships anytime soon.
It's the prime means of getting funds.

Eve recently got a ship like that :)

That lonely cannon on those Hull series, I wonder what it can do against any ship that attacks it xD

Probably only good against floating astronauts!

Yes we've seen that the last few times you posted it, you can stop copy-pasting it every other page.

Yup the scaling of ships seems completely out of whack for trading in SC as of now. It is as if they haven't spent a moment of their time to think about what this massive difference in income per gametime will mean for the game as a whole.

It'll be one heck of a wakeup call when it comes to the point of actually having trading in the game.

They probably shouldn't have published ship stats in the first place without knowing how exactly everything will work. Generic descriptions and ballpark figures would have been better I think because by the time everything is done and balanced, the stats will look much different. I can already see the sea of complains...

Edit: Cargo Interaction

Edit 2: Just noticed this was posted already

Hull A - E size comparison:

If the Hull A is $60 it looks to me like the Hull E should be around $6000. $550 is a (relative) bargain :)

Really love the Hull series. They look like spaceships and not like glorified jetplanes, the container system makes sense for the job at hand and they remind me of the Lynx Bulk Carrier in Elite 2-3.

I always wanted to fly that thing...

Oh yeah, I forgot about the Lynx! :) They are indeed similar.

I really like the Hull series, too, and agree that they really do look like 'spaceships'. Variety is fine and I don't hate the fighter planes in space that are some of the other SC ships, but the Hull and Orion are very cool.

I couldn't resist melting some stuff and getting the Hull C. :)

Yep! The Frontier way of doing things, i.e. playing cards close to your chest until you know what you are going to do, would've been smarter.

Hats off to the designers, they look great. Best looking in SC I would say.

Yeah, this is a good example of the level of immersion in Star Citizen. Instead of menu clicking and magically loading and unloading cargo, you actually can lift, carry and push the cargo crates yourself. If you don't want to handle the cargo yourself, then you just leave the job to NPC's on the pier.

Another example of how innovative the immersion in Star Citizen will be, is the Mobiglas shopping procedure. Instead of ordinary menus you're looking at goods through your transparent Mobiglas screen, in a virtual reality shopping system: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BJFkAb6Vd9k

Let's not forget all the cool trinkets you can find in the world. Like spaceplants.

On a less trippy note I've uploaded the "Grabby Hands" previews and stuck them in a playlist:

I do have to wonder how, ah... 'boring' it's going to be loading cargo on these large ships, lol. I would assume that they're not going to have me (the freighter captain) lug around and load two billion crates of whoopee cushions bound for Stanton.

As I said above, you won't have to do it yourself if you don't want to. NPCs can do the job for you.
