Well is never good when you see that the amount of backers asking for their money back is constantly growing each day but I must said that in most cases CIG is been acting very professional in this area which is so far been pleasant surprise but if the rate of the unhappy backers continue to rise like this it will be just the matters of time when the pyramid is going to fall...and honestly this should be maybe the final breaking point for CIG, if they menage to give us 2.0 before NY that is different and more playable than current AC where we can see that FM is going in good direction and that game starting to be actually FUN to play then all mistake and stupidity from the past can be forgiven(sort of)but somehow after all that I saw from CR&CIG I think that we will see probably the very same old cliche and again same old dysfunctional FM&GP....I want to believe that something is going to change for better soon couse if it doesn't I recon that dooms day is getting really close for CIG.......

but why exactly is the amount of refunds increasing? what happened that caused it?
im not that into SC, but im still curious, when i first saw it it looked good and i had to decide between ED and SC, then i heard more and more things about the "modular system", that they work on several fronts at the same time without actually building a real "core".
The last things i heard were, that they spend money on useless features or waste it for "motion capturing from hollywood stars".

Well Derek Smart posted another blog entry - but I honestly see nothing new there. It's all just the same stuff, repeated. At this point I think it's pointless to reiterate these things.

Also, on the topic of ships spawning/despawning: I can live with that. No really. Star Citizen is not about realism, no matter how hard some fans bang on about it, so landing pads that just spawn ships is fine by me. Of course it would be better if said spawning was at least a little obscured like in Elite where there's hangar bays, but eh... not a dealbreaker IMHO. And the station looks nice, even with that missing solar panel. Things break in space too. It's all good.

I just don't see how all that stuff works in a multiplayer game. THAT is my problem seeing these assets. Can stations be damaged or destroyed? Are they impervious to such things? Do they have defenses? How do the very large ships land there, or are there multiple landing pad sizes like in Elite? For that matter, how many different stations are there going to be? When I die, do I respawn at a station or somewhere else? Do I spawn on foot in a room, or inside a ship? What if I don't have any money left, what happens then?

There's answers to some of those questions, but most are either vague or contradictory. I admit I fail at finding out how the "game loop" works really. Same with trade and exploration. Is there maybe a collected reddit thread that lists the confirmed, set-in-stone mechanics?

Would love for this to happen but it sounds too much like a Jesus patch to me so I would lower my hopes

In my opinion is the lack of actual game playing content and the constant false promising from CR so far,it's not even that much about the delay's if what is been delivered until now seems fun&playable but unfortunately ain't nothing like that.CIG is been falling over&over on "baby" foot steps like the core of the game play, basic flight mechanics and controls there is not that many ppl. out there that really enjoyed in AC and the numbers of ppl. that actually playing it atm is falling each day it's been like if you ever experienced an fancy meal that looks beautiful but taste like sh.t.And of course there is growing lack of thrust after all what happened with the Escapist magazine and rising numbers of important employees that recently left CIG.As I said this tonight and next month is going to be real tipping point for CIG and maybe they finally understand How Little Things Can Make a Big Difference or they simply ain't in which case "Titanic" heading for that "Iceberg" with the full speed ahead.....

thats what i expected.
somehow whenever i research the status of SC, all i can find is a "game" that is more like a "techdemo"
fancy ship destruction - but for what? its unnecessary performance killing.
arcade-like "combat" where two ships circle around eachother at insane speed...
actually i thought for quite a while that all the playable stuff really is just a playable techdemo...

I really hope there is more about the game than the ship sales. Really looking forward to a visual update on the FM and to see the proposed changes in action. I'm looking to see some actual gameplay with missions and travel that I can put my hands on in the near term.

One of the best things about the whole SC project is getting Mark and John back together again :)

In less than a month we'll have the first anniversary of a LIVE GAME that has repaid my investment over and over.

Exactly as you said above, I mention this few times before and I will repeat again in my opinion SC(AC) is trying desperately to be a Simulation and forcing you to play from the 1PV but in reality game acting as the worst kind of Arcade, and if the FM&controls stays like this it's way better if the game goes as the full arcade from the 3PV and with some minor tweaking maybe we can have at least decent mmo-space-arcade aKa Freelancer 2....

Yep. Pretty much 2015 has been a bust. After presenting an aggressive release timeline in January, there has been constant delays, and they've ended up releasing nothing but a threadbare social module a few weeks ago. What was probably the tipping point was Citizencon last month. DS had been chipping away and chipping away, then the Escapist article came out a couple of week or so before the event. CR responded with a kind of cringey letter that someone really should have stopped him from sending out, his lawyer partner threatened to sue if the article wasn't retracted (it wasn't and they didn't), and Cig really needed to come out strong at Citizencon.

Ideally, Chris needed to come out and say 'Vapourware huh? Well Star Marine and Arena Commander 2.0 are being released... now.' Then just dropped the mike and walked off stage. Instead, what we saw was... nothing. Nothing new at least. They showed multicrew (we've seen that before), fps (seen that before), large worlds (seen that), npc speeches(seen that) - the Idris walk around was the only new content and was nothing we haven't seen done better in every fps since Half Life, and was further soured by the Idris sale that immediately followed.

As I said before, if the livestream doesn't show something significant, CIG could be in serious trouble.
