tbh, if I believed the claims that SC backers don't read this thread, I wouldn't post either. But they just can't resist...and comedy needs an audience.:p
Opposition is the means to grow our Faith like a weed. And when the Day of Reckon.. Release cometh, the Faithfull shall stand and bask in its glory. Then the gnashing of the teeth of the Unbelievers shall be heard around the World Verse.

You do mining? You actually gave CIG money to mine?
I did...but then again... I like mining, it's what I've done in space games since Jumpgate...or I could just have paid for another completely pointless ship, no difference really except I actually use this one for something I like doing where the actual mechanics of the mining gameplay is quite well thought out and technically challenging. It works too...and if the never appearing year cometh when Ci¬G actually complete at least part of a gaming loop, it'll suit me just dandy ;)

Heads up to any Jumpgate players...

Apart from persistently falling through the scenery...there's not a lot else :)
To be fair, they worked really hard to get rid of some of the persistence, like the seemingly endless saga of the Olisar rotating rings that kept not rotating… or at least not rotating smoothly… or in sync with their textures… or not around the correct axis… or in the correct direction… or around the correct object.

Many months of studious bug fixing got rid of that defining fixture of the game.

Or, and i know i'm going out on a limb here, you could not have bought any more ships.
Of course...but that wasn't realistically happening at the time the prospector was released, like I mentioned, I like mining...or I'd have spent the cash on Hellion... or spent the same on yet more tools for the garage that I don't really need.

I'm not rich by any means, I have a budget to fritter away on computer bits and software or motorbikes as I see fit...and there's not a lot of games being released this time of year I really fancy... I have all the bikes I will ever ride too. Sold one on Saturday for 300% pure profit except for the oil and grease I got under my nails...Ci¬G got exactly none of that ;)

What it comes down to generally is that I completely ignore any political agenda or third party opinion as to why I should like or dislike Star Citizen and just enjoy and share the bits I do like on here and have a good moan about the bits I don't :)

I too try to enjoy it but at the moment this .. pre-alpha demo of a game actively fights me from playing testing it. I'd happily load up people in the turrets of my ship and go and blast pirates for fun and profit, but that's definitely not happening due to a long string of technical issues. I'd happily do some space trucking for profit (and not so much fun to be honest..) but that's also become quite daunting due to HUD / MFD becoming unresponsive, buggered hangars and ATC.. So at the moment it's kind of a screenshot generator, provided you can hide the hideous graphical glitches that also run rampant. I am not a screenshot person (forced myself to do some on DW2.. but that enthusiasm didnt last) so that's a 5 minutes gameplay time here, and yeah i am not interested in repeating the train commute either.

Oh boy i remember escorting those huge cargo haulers from Quantar, since weight was realistic a cargo full of Palladium was so darned heavy it had to flip around and burn full thrust to brake on quite a few hundred kilometers before coming to a stop.. Fun times when they were approaching stations :D One of the hopes i had for Star Citizen was to have a similar level of realism (it's not much to ask, we are talking about a 15-20 year old game here) and having those huge haulers basically move like real world freighters, so ponderously and mostly in straight line..

Free fly event coming soon:

https://cloudimperiumgames.com/blog...-alpha-3-5-free-fly-beginning-wednesday-may-1

Anyone who plays Star Citizen between May 1 and May 8 will have access to the following five ships:

• Anvil Arrow - Featuring an ultra-aerodynamic frame, slight profile, and the most advanced maneuvering thruster tech available, the Arrow shines in Alpha 3.5’s new flight atmospheric flight model. It’s the most agile ship in its class, and can hold its own in a knock-down-drag-out dogfight with quad missile racks and a full complement of countermeasures.

• MISC Prospector – equipped with a mining laser, the Prospector is Star Citizen’s starter mining ship.

• Drake Cutlass Black – this ship packs real firepower with both piloted guns as well as a manned turret. It is flown by multiple crew members to haul and protect cargo. This is one of our most popular ships for both new and returning players.

• Aegis Avenger Titan – one of our cargo ships, the Titan is a light cargo hauler version of the Avenger specifically kitted out to deliver payloads across the ‘Verse.

• Drake Dragonfly – a two seater hoverbike, the Dragonfly is equipped with a laser cannon and is one of the best ways to navigate surface-side in Star Citizen. The Dragonfly can fit easily in the cargo hold of either of the two below ships, giving players an on-the-ground option after landing.

Yup - the free fly events are the perfect opportunity to see just how many newbs you can squish between the platform and whichever new jpeg they are frantically trying to get into.

IF the ladders and ramps don't get them first, of course :D

Well another year has past by for me and I have made it to 63 :) Still no game I see and prospect of one before I am 64 seem remote.
2012 is such a long time ago as well.

You should. The best PR Cloud Imperium can do is letting people try out the latest build.

If you can, try to stream or record video so others can see how much progress they've made.

Hmm.... will think about it. The experience last time thought was terrible.

Yup, the more people providing actual unedited videos of actual gameplay the better we can evaluate the progress and state of the game.

Unedited gameplay videos beat concept sales and theorycrafting.

What's happening now is much better than any statement involving the perpetual future-tense including "they plan on..." or "they will..."
