And if you read the pcgaming subreddit thread it is even more critical.

These kind of events probably impact CIG bottom line to some extent. Even if just a few whales decide to cut back. And the more the game release drags on the more events like this there will be. It all suggests that the SQ42 release or lack there of will be a decisive moment.

I also wonder how this kind of articles affect the recent investors and their relationship with CR.

Just read through the comments. I was surprised at the ratio of CIG supporters/detractors. It was like reading this thread. The vast majority of posts agreeing with the article or saying it did not go far enough. A few posts denigrating Forbes. Hardly anyone saying CI(G) were doing a good job or SC was a good game.
And then of course, like Beetljuice, the Lord of Wah turned up to throw some napalm on the croquet lawn...

There was very little in the article that hasn't been stated elsewhere but Forbes is a major player so I expect the fallout will be huge.

The /r/starcitizen denizens seem to think this "hit piece" blog article is the end of it yet right at the top of the page they state it's going to be published in their May issue of their magazine. A magazine with 6.4m subscribers published in 70 countries worldwide.

I'm sure CIG's lawyers are working overtime on trying to get a restraining order preventing that republication as we speak.

The part where (through a police report investigation) "Sandi Gardiner (now Chris' current wife and part owner CIG, etc) used to stalk Chris and his previous defacto wife back in 2007, and actually broke in to his LA home and Chris filed a restraining order against her" part was just weird... Was this common knowledge before?

Does it provide credence to those anonymous ex-dev claims that she is crazy and working under her was a toxic working environment back in 2015?
Wonder if we will still see her in videos after this article.

Nah, its not negative. You see, Sandi is just a method actor and was just preparing for the role she would play years later.

So... can someone brief things up? :D (ok kidding)
I know about the latest Forbes article. Any other significant news?

At least let us know of the score between:
  • CR/CIG haters, that believe it will never come out and possibly is even a scam.
  • ...
  • The game(s) will eventually surface, possibly close to the end of the homo sapiens life-span of the current "bit older" gamer generation (and possibly after CR and co. give up project management to real people managing real projects - a la Freelancer) and will be underwhelming given the time/money/fuss of the whole project.
  • ...
  • CR/CIG lovers, that believe the game is coming, it is becoming better and better, money go to improvements and when released, it will storm over everything else space genre or not.
...and all the colors in between.
(just for the stats, I am very very VERY close to option #1)

If someone replies to me, please quote me so that I can easily track.

I think the reaction to the Forbes article from CIG will give a good indication as to where they’re at financially.
I’m of the opinion that the money is drying up. Forbes sensed that weakness and ran the story.
Currently CIG’s only ace in the hole is Squadron 42. If by some miracle it’s a fully featured and good game it can save them. I have my doubts because if it was CIG would be teasing the world with the “fidelity”and they’re keeping it under wraps.

Is "ace in the pipeline" - not hole.

Man, this is so Theranos! Only thing missing is David Boies.

Sort of… but not discussed in most official circles because mods tended to take dim view to that kind of posting since it almost always came in the form of “I know a guy who knows a guy who said…”. Once there's research and large-scale publication behind it, the discussion becomes harder to sweep under the rug.

Nobody I know has even heard of Star Citizen and all are shocked it the prices being charged.
With recent loot box scandals hitting the headlines, underhanded games developers techniques to extract huge amounts of revenue from gamers is a hot topic.
CIG just so happen to be top of the pile of the rip off merchants and they so far have managed to fly under the radar of the mainstream media.
This could be the beginning of the end.

I doubt it. SQ42 is nowhere near release. I just can' t see them funding for much longer. The loan was a flag, the investor a klaxon. And they still have a lawsuit pending.
