Could this be something as simple as deciding it would be a good idea to have a CLO on board as Ortwin might be a teensy bit conflicted over the lawsuit?
Not as interesting as this:

Same dude, but with his venture capitalist hat on.

Given the date of the appointment it rather looks like one of the new shareholders (most likely Infatrade) sent a representative.
Well I've thought about it overnight and while I might be waiting some time, I will wait for a free weekend first.
Dan Offner's appointment to the board was the same day as the share trade.
See last 2 filings: https://beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/company/08815227/filing-history
EDIT: So I'd assume that he's the new 10% owner. Also I have no idea who gets the money from the shares (other directors or CIG itself).
EDIT 2: "New" as in since the end of March. Yadda yadda.
So why is he needed now?
I find it more interesting that it was around March (roughly, it's hard to estimate exactly here, but certainly the first half of this year) when the development seemed to start to "speed up" relatively compared to the stalling that was here before. Maybe someone wants to see results? Or even better yet, someone is producing these results instead of CRoberts?Impressive resume, holy mackerel, Batman. That's top of the crop.
That's some quality thinking right there.![]()
Legally in the UK, certain types of companies require a minimum of 1 or 2 directors, but can have many more. These are not to be confused with other managers in the company, although you can be both a manager and a director, that would make you an executive director. Non executive directors are still paid but will be paid less than executive directors and in many cases only work 1-5 days a month.
It is a good idea to have at least one director with a legal background and one with a financial background. Their job is too make sure that legal obligations are met. It is difficult to say exactly why they brought him on board,
It is not unusual and not something that would be accompanied by a media event to announce it, In fact most employees have no idea who their company directors are.
Looking at the link in DLewths post above, an interesting thing is the accounts for last year, It gives gross costs, income and profit Plus details including the cost of directors and there statutory pension requirements. ( I think that relates to the new compulsory pension in the UK)
Is anybody here an accountant and can take a look at it?
Do you SA?
This guy seems to talk the talk..

You do not have to get far before you see he is wrong in one of his guesses, not that that makes him wrong about everything, it just makes me question his conclusions.

But thanks for the link
Enlighten us.

April 24th 2018 at 2002 hrs. I would be interested to see if it is obvious to others well. It is unfortunate for him that it comes up quickly in the link and started me off being sceptical.
Its not a technical accounting issue so anyone should be able to work it out. I did and I can not even do long division or quadratic equations any more, school maths lessons are a long way in my past.
