What's ASL for "Give me back my money!"?
I think I know what it is for "you won't get your money back", it may be the first one implemented. Actually I think it is already (ripped from Guardians of the Galaxy)
What's ASL for "Give me back my money!"?
Haha, I made the same mistake, too, a long time ago. I mean it'd be nice to have a universal language, no? And while I still knew about my naive blunder as a kid, when I thought all you had to do to translate a language was to replace letters according to some kind of code, I still figured sign language might actually be universal - well, the middle finger is kinda understood elsewhere, but it wasn't to be.
Where to start? What a mess![]()
Would be funny if all this time all the miscommunication in the world could've been solved by deaf people.
No we all noticed that in some way (maybe not specifically related to LoTR funding..) - the quality and quantity of what has been delivered so far is vastly unrelated to the investment, the most likely explanation is most of the funds have gone to CR´s Hollywood dream mocap studio, A-list actors that certainly werent paid in pixel starships, and an endless loop of redoing everything over again because the game core engine is not even remotely able to support their ambitions so they can give the illusion of "progress" and "iteration".
You only really need one part is at 3m14s, where Erin explains that the roadmap is inherently untrustworthy and useless: because its predictions rely on staff that does not exist.
That says everything you ever need to know about this project and about the company running it.

no new systems, not clear to me even if the Crusader system will be finished by end of year because the gas giant itself (Crusader) is not in there (no cloud tech)... and that is if no delays.
Also, dat new roadmap for this year!
No server meshing or network big changes, only 1 more profession, no full persistence, no new systems, not clear to me even if the Crusader system will be finished by end of year because the gas giant itself (Crusader) is not in there (no cloud tech)... and that is if no delays.
That's all explained in the video.
• The roadmap is set up based on an assumption that competences will become available at a later stage.
• Consistently, said competences fail to materialise.
• What scant few competences they already have internally are currently being shifted from SC to SQ42.
So obviously, as anything they might gain competence-wise is immediately shifted to more desperately needed work, the assumption of what will be available later will remain constant, and thus the roadmap will keep showing the same stuff that relies on that later competence coming in. Completely sensible. You just don't understandgameproject development.
"We craft universes of unprecedented magnitude"
I mean I suppose calling two planets a a universe is unprecedented, just not in a good way.
...and of those 2 planets, how much of their air space/ground surface area are forbidden/no fly zones? You only get to count the air space and surface areas which are directly accessible to the player by the definition of "planets" IMO...
What's ASL for "Give me back my money!"?
Each of those No Fly Zones is bigger than Skyrim in the largest gaming 'Verse that has ever been conceived. You just don't understand No Fly Zone development!
Restricting player access to areas delivers MOAR rich and interesting gameplay in a fully fleshed-out 'Verse where all the NPC's live out their actual daily virtual lives with perfectly modelled o2 consumption and subsumpted NPC toilet facilities that are off-limits to players - because your average player doesn't have the level of fidelity required.
It all makes perfect sense.
Map size is completely irrelevant if a smaller map can achieve significantly more franchise longevity for less.
@Lancelord i am very familiar with Sunk Cost Galaxy series, as is everyone on this forum i believe. I also had the opportunity to talk with another private investor (who was still in at the time, although he seems to have disappeared by now..) and his view on CR (who he met multiple times) and the project direction was quite interesting. I would be curious to have an interview with the $46M investor, especially how realistic he is about the project future, and how much sway he could have on its direction vs CR dictatorial style. There *are* competent people in the studios, they are just fighting an uphill battle..
SIZE aka quantity my dear fellow, has absolutely nothing to do with quality.
