From what I can see the whole video is just a depiction and praise of new assets and not interactive but glorified decorations.
I presume when he asks in the title if this is real he is referring to the fact that there are no new game mechanics at all and almost none at all in the roadmap? Or maybe he is wondering at the multitude of game breaking bugs not fixed for years perhaps?

That's the problem isn't it? SC has always had great potential. It's just failed to get anywhere close to achieving that potential in the past 7 years, despite obscene amounts of funding. Why would the next 7 years be any different?
People coming to this project fresh see the potential. Those of us who have been following it from the beginning see what CI(G) do with the potential. It's very disheartening.
Far from SC likely to become the 'Game Of The Decade', I will be surprised if it manages to become a game at all, in any decade.

The best you can hope for in his analyzis are phrases like "there is something there" and "evokes feelings".
Preemptively disregards complains by the often-toted "its alpha" counter
Without naming any hard evidence or facts avoiding any "sore points" like the money involved or development time passed already goes on to theorize about the end score of the eventual release game claiming a "tier 1 spot" whatever that means (but according to him games like World of Warcraft, GTA, Skyrim and Witcher3)

I look forward in anticipation for when CIG release a minimum viable product. Even that seems years away if it’s even possible.
Dear gods, indeed, how is that real? 7 years, over 200 million, and the ship flying over the city is janky as hell. I really don't know how CIG do it. Its like they go out of their way of adding fidelity to the point where the game suffers for it.
